Joe Rogan and friends

“One of the most complex and exciting stand-ups working in America today.  Like an idealistic hippy stuck inside the body of a testosterone-pumped US marine.  He’s been likened to late great US comedians such as Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison, but although he exhibits a similar brand of furious indignation, his observations and revelations are entirely his own.  His angry, insightful act is an absorbing battle between his raw libertarian instincts and his refined liberal sensibilities.”   --William Cook, The Guardian   A standup comedian for more than 20 years, Joe Rogan sells out theaters internationally with his inquisitive and intense comedic style.  His third hour comedy special “Joe Rogan: Live from the Tabernacle” was released in December 2012 via his website.  Rogan previously starred in two hour long specials, “Talking Monkeys in Space” (2009) now available on CD & DVD and “Joe Rogan Live” (2007) now available on DVD, and released the CD’s “Shiny Happy Jihad” (2007) and “I’m Gonna Be Dead Someday” (2000).

Anderson Silva: Nick Diaz's open workout no-show 'unfortunate for the fans'

Silva's workout was lengthy and entertaining. He went through boxing, kicking and grappling drills with coaches and multiple partners. It was quite the display and the fans seemed extremely appreciative. Silva himself was light on his feet, fast with his hands and didn't show any concerns over throwing kicks with his surgically repaired left leg.

Five fighters cut from UFC contracts including Igor Pokrajac

For fighters like Niinimaki and Pokrajac, it feels much more like the end of the road with Zuffa. Certainly in as thin a division as LHW is Pokrajac could have a chance to rebuild his record, and Niinimaki seems as though he still has some tread on the tires. But, but both fighters have been in the game for quite a while, and neither men put on the kind of performances in the UFC that's likely to put them at the top of Silva or Shelby's list for a return trip. Stay tuned for more updates, as the UFC appears to be releasing fighters at a much quicker pace than they have been over the past year or two, and of course, they're always bringing in more new talent. No doubt the next roster update news is just around the corner.

Nick Diaz Absent From UFC 183 Open Workouts After Skipping Scheduled Flight to Vegas

Nick Diaz didn’t show up in Las Vegas on Wednesday. | Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Since UFC 183 “ Embedded ” was released on Tuesday, the story coming out of Las Vegas has been the absence of Nick Diaz . The former Strikeforce champion missed his flight from Sacramento, Calif., to Las Vegas, the site of his long-awaited Octagon return. Considering Diaz’s renegade reputation, that alone was enough to spawn rumors that his bout against Anderson Silva might be in jeopardy. On Wednesday, the storyline continued to progress when Diaz missed open workouts at the MGM Grand. In the past, both Nick and his brother Nate Diaz have elected to skip similar obligations, Nick prior to UFC 158 and Nate ahead of UFC on Fox 13. But according to Diaz’s former coach Cesar Gracie , all of this is by design and was a result of Diaz seeing the “Embedded” camera crew prior to boarding his flight. @nickdiaz209 is ready and elected to take a different flight cause cameramen showed up to sell wolf tickets. Will be a great fight @ufc — Cesar Gracie (@CesarGracieBJJ) January 28, 2015 It remains to be seen if this will result in any sort of punishment for the former welterweight competitor, but as long as Diaz makes his way to Nevada in time for weigh-ins on Friday, such wrongs can be fixed.

Nick Diaz was interested in Anderson Silva bout since 2006 Rumble on the Rock tournament

"I've been in this sport a long time. My friend Jake Shields fought in Rumble on The Rock. He, Carlos Condit , Yushin Okami, Anderson Silva and other fighters. In the same period I was fighting in the UFC and in Japan. I think that we all were fighting at the 175-pound limit and I wanted a lot to be part of that tournament. I have always looked Anderson as a potential opponent but I was focused on the Welterweight division and facing Georges St-Pierre ."
