Joseph Duffy, the last man to beat Conor McGregor, signs with UFC

Duffy began his professional MMA career in 2008, picking up back-to-back submission wins over current UFC fighters McGregor and Norman Parke. However, after suffering his first – and to date, only – MMA loss, Duffy stepped out of the cage in favor of a professional boxing career. “Irish Joe” returned to MMA in 2014, picking up two stoppage wins under the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship banner.

UFC 182 Medical Suspensions: Felder, Marquardt, Gaudinot, Garbrandt Facing 6-Month Layoffs

Paul Felder could be out six months. | Dave Mandel/ After a unanimous decision victory against Myles Jury at UFC 182 , a medical suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission will not prevent Donald Cerrone from facing Benson Henderson at UFC Fight Night “McGregor vs. Siver” . The same cannot be said for Paul Felder , Nate Marquardt , Louis Gaudinot and Cody Garbrandt , who all are potentially out until July with injuries. Aside from those four extended layoffs, the remaining athletes on the 11-fight card escaped relatively unscathed. The first UFC pay-per-view of 2015 featured a main event of Jon Jones versus Daniel Cormier for the promotion’s light heavyweight title and took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. UFC 182 Medical Suspensions: Daniel Cormier : Suspended until Jan. 25 with no contact until Jan. 14 Nate Marquardt : Must have right ankle cleared by doctor or is suspended until July 3; minimum suspension until Feb. 3, no contact until Jan. 25 due to right cheek laceration Louis Gaudinot : Must have left hand cleared by doctor or is suspended until July 3; minimum suspension until Feb.

Massacre at French magazine office

Gilles Boulanger, who works in the same building as the office, told French TV channel Itele: "There were several shots heard in the building from automatic weapons firing in all directions. So then we looked out of the window and saw the shooting was on Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, with the police. It was really upsetting. You'd think it was a war zone."

Cowboy Cerrone Amazes Yet Again

Donald Cerrone ’s signature tagline is “anytime, anyplace” and if there was every any question to just how serious that claim is, those doubts have officially been erased. The most prolific fighter on the UFC roster provided further proof that he’s willing to throw down wherever and whenever the promotion will allow as “Cowboy” has stepped up to face Benson Henderson in the co-main event at Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver when the Octagon returns to Boston on Sunday, January 18. The hard-charging lightweight will replace Eddie Alvarez - who was forced to withdraw due to injury - and do so just 13 days out from his unanimous decision victory over Myles Jury this past weekend at UFC 182 in Las Vegas. The bout will mark the third time Cerrone and Henderson have gone toe-to-toe, but it will be their first matchup under the UFC banner. Their two previous meetings came inside the “little blue cage” of the now-defunct WEC promotion, with “Smooth” getting his hand raised at the end of both affairs. Their first bout earned Fight of the Year honors in 2009, and their upcoming trilogy fight in Boston became a highly-anticipated affair immediately upon announcement.

SHOCK VIDEO: The Moment Murderous Muslim Gunmen Execute A Paris Policeman During Massacre

If you take an afternoon and explore some of the history of the Middle East you maybe surprised to see the length to which many went to address the Arab Islamic Issue. The Ottoman Empire did not come about through peaceful resolution of conflicting political and religious ideologies. The Arabs slaughtered everyone (man, woman and child) not of Arab and Islamic persuasion. They ruled with an iron fist until just before WWI. They are of the unapologetic belief that all the lands associated with the previous Ottoman Empire must be recaptured. This is to serve as a spring board to launch their world conquest. You and I are not invited to the victory party. This Allah they carry on about is the former Babylonian Moon God. The practice of this religious body has all been, and always will be violent, evil and anti Christ. This is Islam. They are called to deny this by the Koran, lie and even adopt Christianity if they find themselves for a time out numbered by Christianity. Don’t believe me, pick up an unedited copy of the Koran and read for yourself. It is not hard reading and most can get through it in a few days.

Vitor Belfort passes three random drug tests leading up to UFC 184 title fight

Andy Foster, the California State Athletic Commission executive officer, said in October that he tentatively planned on testing Belfort three-to-five times randomly before the fight, as well as the night of the event. He told on Wednesday that he is working in unison with Nevada and sees no need to double up their efforts right now, so he'll take over once Nevada decides it will no longer test Belfort before this fight. He will, at some point, start testing Belfort prior to UFC 184, as well.

Why Jones was allowed to fight at UFC 182

When news broke of Jon Jones ' failed drug test in the run up to UFC 182 , one of the biggest questions on the minds of fans was, "Why was Jon Jones allowed to fight?". In general, sentences for failed drug tests have ranged from suspensions to overturned wins, to large fines. For many, Jones' ability to walk into his UFC 182 bout without issue or penalty seems to fly in the face of past precedent. Kevin Iole of Yahoo sports (who broke the story of Jones' habit/rehab) has published  an article to explain why that's not necessarily the case, and why exactly UFC 182 went ahead as planned , despite the AC knowing of Jones' failed test before hand.

NSAC to hear Francisco Rivera's appeal of UFC 181 loss to Urijah Faber

Rivera (10-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) was submitted by Faber (32-7 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in the second round after he was clearly poked in the eye, which is a foul under the commission’s rules. Referee Mario Yamasaki did not catch the infraction despite verbal and physical cues from Rivera that he was fouled, so the bout was not stopped and Faber applied a bulldog choke.

Frank Mir vs. Antonio Silva moved to Feb. 22 following Glover Teixeira knee injury

According to White, the reason for the switch was because Glover Teixeira , who was scheduled to fight Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC Fight Night 61, injured his knee and has been forced to withdraw from the fight. Teixeira's manager, Ed Soares, said the former light-heavyweight contender tweaked a knee injury that he suffered in his October fight against Phil Davis and now requires six weeks of physical therapy.

Georgi Karakhanyan Has No Hard Feelings for WSOF Ahead of Second Bellator Stint

Georgi Karakhanyan says he has unfinished business in Bellator. | Dave Mandel/ Ex- World Series of Fighting featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan has nothing bad to say about his former employer. After a three-fight stint with WSOF that briefly saw Karakhanyan capture 145-pound gold, the decision to part ways came about amicably between fighter and promotion. “After my last fight I was trying to stay busy. The matchmaker, [Ali Abel-Aziz], couldn’t find me the right matches so I sat down with [WSOF President] Ray Sefo , all the staff from World Series of Fighting, and my manager. They gave me a release,” Karakhanyan told “All my checks cashed, and I made a good amount of money with them. I have nothing bad to say about them. They gave me my release; they understood me.” When Bellator MMA came calling, Karakhanyan jumped at the opportunity -- not only because he was impressed with the Scott Coker regime, but because he also has “unfinished business” to handle from his first stint with the organization.

Dana White: Jon Jones' positive test a 'great thing,' champ will return better than ever

“If you look at how shocked everybody was by this, nothing you saw in Jon Jones leading up to that fight would make you think that he used drugs,” White said. “In a situation like this the last thing you worry about is his image right now. You worry about getting the guy healthy, he’ll come back, and whether you like him or you don’t like him, he’s the baddest dude in the world. He’s the pound-for-pound best guy in the world. What’s even crazier is you do these tests to look for performance-enhancing drugs, the stuff he was doing, it hurts you. It doesn’t help you in any way, it actually hurts you. So imagine how good this guy’s going to be when he gets straight.

Anthony Pettis: Temptation 'definitely there' but 'you've got to be strong-willed'

Jon Jones' out of competition drug tests all show abnormal hormone levels

Lastly, it has to be noted that urine testing for testosterone levels is significantly less accurate than blood testing. All three tests appear to be urine tests only. It's also possible that the concentration/dilution of Jones' urine mean his levels look abnormal. It should not affect the relative ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone, though. Nor do I believe it would explain the drastic change in epitestosterone level between his December 4th and December 18th test, since his testosterone levels do not show the same rate of increase.
