Barao is Back on Dec. 20
Former world bantamweight champion Renan Barao will make his first start since his May loss to T.J. Dillashaw when he returns to the Octagon in Sao Paulo, Brazil to face rising Canadian star Mitch Gagnon on December 20. Unbeaten for nine years, the 27-year-old Barao dominated his opposition night in and night out before the upset loss of his title to Dillashaw earlier this year. Expected to face Dillashaw in an August rematch, Barao was pulled from the bout on weigh-in day after falling and hitting his head while trying to make weight. Now more determined than ever to regain his crown, Barao can get back in the title picture with a win over Ontario's Gagnon, who has won 10 of his last 11 bouts, including four straight in the Octagon.
Faber-Rivera Gives UFC 181 Even More Firepower
With two world championship fights, the UFC debut of female superstar Holly Holm , and several other high-profile and high-impact matchups, UFC 181 on December 6 in Las Vegas is shaping up to be the biggest event of 2014. But the intriguing bouts aren’t done yet, as “The California Kid,” Urijah Faber , will return to the Octagon to face bantamweight knockout artist Francisco “Cisco” Rivera in a bout verbally agreed to Wednesday. Tickets are on sale now for UFC 181, which is headlined by the welterweight championship rematch between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler and the lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez . Bad Ass! Andrea From ‘The Walking Dead’ Helped Save 55 Colombian Sex Slaves In Real Life
Well, this is a crazy story! It turns out Laurie Holden, aka Andrea from The Walking Dead , is a lot more like the bad-ass Andrea from the comic books than she was the Andrea in the series that bent to the will of The Governor. See, Holden has another life beyond Hollywood as a human rights activist, and as part of that role, Holden belongs to an outfit called Operation Underground Railroad. It’s essentially a sting operation run by Tim Ballard, a former CIA agent and former U.S. Homeland Security investigator, and a rag-tag group of off-the-books operatives, a former Navy SEAL, and — among others — The Walking Dead actress Laurie Holden.

The Fighter & The Kid
This podcast has jumped to the top of my UFC/MMA podcast list - but c'mon, once a week?. I really feel like Brendan and Bryan should be able to do at least 2 eps a week, or maybe 2 hours a pop - I mean, what else do these guys have to do during the day? Brendan habitually mispronouncing every major UFC fighter's name on the roster is a nice touch, too. I also want to hear more about Bryan's mad greco skills. I think he should do each episode shirtless.
CDC: U.S. health worker with Ebola should not have flown on commercial jet
That's the flight health officials are concerned about, though they stress that the risk of exposure to passengers who were on the plane with Vinson is low, since she did not yet show symptoms. The Ebola virus is not contagious before symptoms set in.

I have no idea why Tate decided to appear in this history. But everyone knows me and knows how I am, I never back away from a fight, I am Bethe Correia. I never run from a challenge. Whoever challenges me make sure to use a good mouthpiece because I'll answer to it in the Octagon with punches to the mouth."

Because I am a woman do I have to settle, join the crowd of sheep which walks the conventional and "correct" way of life? Do I as a woman have an obligation towards society to meet certain criteria like for instance being "fat enough" , inactive enough, to be able to reproduce any given day? Mother Nature doesn't like her women to be hard training athletes, she wants them housewives baking cookies making sure she keeps her full figure to bear many the child.
UPDATE: Chris Weidman saves 92-year old neighbor after fall
"I was trying to get her to calm down, talking about her dog and trying to change the subject; she kept saying she just wanted one more year to live, and I'm like ‘you're going to be fine, you're not dying today.' And while this is happening, she's pounding blood out of her head. I grabbed a bunch of paper towels and I start holding it on her head. I'm getting bloody, but all the while I'm imagining that it was my grandma. I literally went through a whole outdoor garbage pail full of paper towels."

UFC 179's Chad Mendes: 'Hermit crab' Jose Aldo doesn't 'carry his weight' as champion
“He doesn’t do enough to carry his weight as far as media goes,” Mendes told MMAjunkie. “He never does and he never has. He’s a prime example: You hear all the promo stuff and I don’t hear him speaking, not one time. I’m here talking, I’m selling the fight, and I’m pushing for it. There’s nothing about Aldo. Fighter Diet Brownies
Directions: Chop the chocolate into a course chocolate flour. Mix all dry ingredients in a big bowl. Add egg, egg white and little water (add tiny amounts, little by little to make a thick mix). Mix well. Heat a ceramic pan to medium hot and coat it with a layer of coconut cooking spray. Poor the mix into the pan. Keep your eyes on it because here you need to play it by ear! As soon as it's almost firm all the way to the top, shut off the stove. Carefully use a big broad utensil to flip it over. If you're like me you will not make it and you end up with a chocolate calzone! However that's delicious because it means the inside will stay moist! Let it cool and serve it with Truvia or whipped coconut cream or whipped heavy cream.
Thiago Alves vs. Jordan Mein targeted for UFC 183
The source asked for anonymity because he was not publicly authorized to discuss the bout. UFC execs later officially confirmed the booking. Alves and Mein were set to face off at UFC Fight Night 49 on Aug. 23 in Tulsa, Okla., but Alves withdrew due to injury. Mein instead fought Mike Pyle and delivered a 72-second TKO, which earned him a “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Anderson Silva held a press conference Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro to
promote his return against Nick Diaz at UFC 183.
Frank Mir open to rubber match with Brock Lesnar, praises "Minotauro" Nogueira
"I started to pressure and he was very flexible. I started to look in referee's direction waiting him to stop the fight, so I wouldn't need to keep pressure. I don't think that I was slow enough but his arm was strange. At the moment, I thought that I had dislocated his arm, not broken. When I arrived at my home, my wife's friends had recorded the fight and we watched together. I stopped when Nogueira's arm popped, I couldn't watch. They asked me why and I answered: 'I remember differently. He was punching my face at that time. Watching it from my couch isn't nice.'"
Anderson Silva won't be disrespected by anybody including Nick Diaz
Everybody was taken back by Silva's comments because the only other fight that ever drew that kind of ire out of the Brazilian legend was for his showdown with Vitor Belfort in 2011. It wasn't so much the words that came out of Silva's mouth for that fight as much as the weigh-ins, where the champion put on a strange, white mask and immediately got nose-to-nose with his opponent before they had to be separated.
Twitter Mailbag: On lifetime bans and the perils of social media
The really interesting thing is the contrast this offers us between life as an NFL commentator and life as the UFC’s play-by-play man. As a UFC employee, telling people on Twitter to eff off is no biggie. Look at the UFC president’s Twitter account. His go-to moves include insulting detractors based on their profile photo or their number of followers, or just swearing at them and calling them a bunch of goofs. You can understand how Goldberg might have thought that he could lob an f-bomb at some jerks on Twitter without upsetting his employers. He just temporarily forgot which employer he was dealing with. It was a mistake, in other words. People are known to make those, just as they are known to react defensively when they get their feelings hurt.
Dan Miller returns to middleweight, faces Daniel Sarafian at UFC Fight Night 58
Miller (14-7, 1 no-contest) decided to cut down to 170 pounds after winning five of his 10 UFC bouts as a middleweight. Miller made his welterweight debut in 2012, tapping Ricardo Funch with a guillotine choke, but suffered a first-round TKO to Jordan Mein in his last UFC bout, in March of 2013.
