Learn to Love the Iron
Learn to love the iron. It’s your only tool to transfer your inner lean, chiseled you from your mind to your surface. With the constant work you’ll learn about life, about you, about your feelings, your drive and your desires. It’s exercise for the soul. You’ll find struggles and challenges, you’ll overcome them all, you’ll have to find ways around your obstacles, face dilemmas and catch 22's, and even though you periodically will wish it was all an easy road to walk without turning around or having to take a path less traveled, you’ll soon be thankful for the wisdom and education. There’s a sense of accomplishment and self satisfaction to gain from commitment.
Dan Henderson eyeing return at UFC 182 in January
The 44-year-old veteran told MMAFighting.com that he's been talking to the UFC about returning to action on the UFC 182 show on Jan. 3, however, no opponent has been finalized just yet.
Cung Le proclaims innocence, blames failure on 'unreliability' of testing
"Cung Le has been a professional martial artist for over 20 years and has always conducted himself with honor showing a deep respect for his supporters and opponents," he stated. "To have him made a public example based on suspect testing procedures conducted by a lab unfamiliar with the WADA rules is irresponsible. With the results of such testing having such a powerful effect on athletes reputations and futures we believe it would be better served to have future testing conducted by a WADA approved laboratory that knows and follows the established procedures to the letter so as to ensure something like this doesn't happen again. Cung is extremely disappointed at the results of the test and that the UFC would make such an unprecedented decision to extend his suspension from 9 to 12 months when the testing procedures remain unclear."

8 Common Ebola Myths, Debunked
A pharmacist searches for drugs in a pharmacy in Lagos on July 26, 2014. Nigeria was on alert against the possible spread of Ebola on July 26, a day after the first confirmed death from the virus in Lagos, the country's financial capital and Africa's biggest city. The health ministry said Friday that a 40-year-old Liberian man died at a private hospital in Lagos from the disease, which has now killed more than 650 people in four west African countries since January. The Global Meltdown Has Begun
The unmistakable landmark of the nightmare that is upon us is an anemic and dysfunctional economy. Compounded by austerity and continuing social and political crises, wars, manufactured terror attacks and the deliberate destruction of the final engine of prosperity – the United States – the predatory elite will realize their perverse dream of total domination. That is, if we don’t stop them now.

UFC 177 estimated to have done 125,000 buys
It now appears that if the UFC runs a pay-per-view event, that even if everything goes wrong, they are going to get 125,000 buys. That figure is the estimate for UFC 177 , which was a show where, from a promotional standpoint, things couldn't have gone worse. The Aug. 30 show in Sacramento had a weak undercard from a star standpoint. The show was originally set for two title fights, at bantamweight and flyweight, but the flyweight fight was moved back a month to headline UFC 178 when Jon Jones was injured. The bantamweight title fight wasn't a blockbuster, but it did have a story behind it. Renan Barao had gone undefeated for nine years, covering 33 to 35 fights, depending upon whose records you believe, and was then thoroughly dominated, and finished by T.J. Dillashaw in what ranked as one of the two biggest title change upsets in UFC history. The main event was scheduled as the rematch. Barao never appeared to be himself in the fight. Whether that was because of a bad weight cut or because Dillashaw was too fast and had the better game plan, or just got to him first early, there was still an unanswered question whether it was a onetime fluke and a guy having a bad night.

Cody McKenzie drew a pint of blood to lose 1.4 pounds before Battlegrounds MMA one-night tournament
When fighters struggle to make weight on the day of the weigh-ins, they typically resort to the old-fashioned tactic of removing clothing, sweating off the pounds in the sauna, or the lesser known decision to remove unnecessary body parts with a chainsaw. But former UFC lightweight and featherweight Cody McKenzie has taken an unusual route towards meeting his commitments. Just a day away from his entry into the Battlegrounds O.N.E one-night welterweight tournament in Oklahoma, McKenzie tipped the scales at 172.4 lbs, which is 1.4 lbs over the limit. With his position in the tournament in jeopardy, he turned to intentional blood loss: ( via MMA Fighting )
Ken Shirriff's blog: Mining Bitcoin with pencil and paper: 0.67 hashes per day
I decided to see how practical it would be to mine Bitcoin with pencil and paper.
It turns out that the SHA-256 algorithm used for mining is pretty simple and can in fact be done by hand. Not surprisingly, the process is extremely slow compared to hardware mining and is entirely impractical. But performing the algorithm manually is a good way to understand exactly how it works.
A pencil-and-paper round of SHA-256
The mining process
Bitcoin mining is a key part of the security of the Bitcoin system. The idea is that Bitcoin miners group a bunch of Bitcoin transactions into a block, then repeatedly perform a cryptographic operation called hashing zillions of times until someone finds a special extremely rare hash value. At this point, the block has been mined and becomes part of the Bitcoin block chain. The hashing task itself doesn't accomplish anything useful in itself, but because finding a successful block is so difficult, it ensures that no individual has the resources to take over the Bitcoin system. For more details on mining, see my Bitcoin mining article .
A cryptographic hash function takes a block of input data and creates a smaller, unpredictable output.
Age be damned, Jim Ross ready to try his hand at MMA broadcasting alongside Chael Sonnen
"It is on the table. I had a casual conversation with FOX last week. Initially it was signed as a one-off (deal) because I didn't want to commit if I wasn't going to be good and I didn't want them to be obliged if l wasn't going to do a good job. Golden Boy has undergone some changes. Oscar (de la Hoya) has been very busy but I heard him say that he really enjoyed my work and wanted to work with me again. The feeling is mutual. It's just a matter of getting all the parties back focused on that matter and seeing how we move forward.
Top Maple Leaf Match Ups In October 2014 | Top MMA News at topmmanews.com
1. Ryan Ford @RyanFordMMA (22-4) vs. Jake Shields @JakeShieldsajj (29-7)
WSOF 14: Ford vs. Shields – Edmonton – October 11
The time has finally come for Ryan Ford to face a top 10 ranked opponent. All the hate, all the “he can’t fight in the states, he’ll never go anywhere” will finally be silenced or echo louder than ever based solely on the outcome of this fight. This bout could not have come at a better time for “The Real Deal” as he has hit his stride in the past two years going 6-0 with five finishes over stern competition like Luis Santos, Michael Hill and Kyle Baker. For Jake Shields , this match is a chance at redemption as it will be his first bout since leaving the UFC. The Cesar Gracie Fighter is 3-2-1 over his last six outings but has been blasted for riding out decisions and just plain being a boring fighter to watch. Both men have a lot to prove in this bout and for one man this could be a huge turning point in their career as either Ford gets the W and proves he is a certified top 10 Welterweight or Shields nails the submission win and proves he still can hang with the best on the planet.
Chael Sonnen offers blueprint for success to Jose Aldo
Jose Aldo is beating everybody up. I don't say this as a knock on him. I like the guy and I pick him to talk about because I think that he deserves more, but he's got to go out and earn it. He's got to bring in the interest. I can't tell you how often I have to tell people who Jose Aldo is and that he's the current champion. People think that McGregor is the champion because he's fast become the guy in that division that stands out.
Cung Le questions testing procedures, is "completely surprised at the results"
WADA has since released a statement that they have been following the development of mass-spectrometry biomarkers testing and were in the process of validating them. That was back in March. If this is indeed a process they have continued to follow up on and implement, the UFC's adherence to WADA standards may make Cung Le one of the first athletes to find himself publicly on the receiving end of a failed test, using new and improved standards of HGH detection.

Myles Jury vs. 'Cowboy' Cerrone possible for early 2015
While nothing is official yet, it seems the UFC is interested in putting the fight together for early next year. Very few fights have been announced thus far for 2015 and a battle between the two top-ranked lightweights could potentially fill a main event slot on an upcoming FOX Sports 1 card or even serve as a co-main event for a show like UFC 182 with Jon Jones taking on Daniel Cormier in the headline bout.
Michael Bisping on Cung Le: 'He tried to cheat me out of a victory'
"Fortunately, I won the fight," Bisping said. "If I lost, I would be outraged and would have more to say. I don't want to kick a man while he's down. He has to explain this to his kids. Hopefully, this will be a lesson for him and everyone: this is not a road one should take. "In some ways, I feel bad for him and he has to pay the consequences."
Episode No. 4 recap: ‘The Ultimate Fighter 20: Team Pettis vs. Team Melendez’
Round 1 – Esparza opens with a combination of straight punches that land. She shoots for a takedown that’s stuffed. They exchange punches, and Hill lands a crisp jab followed by a clean left hook. Hill throws a leg kick that is caught by Esparza, who then takes the fight to he ground and establishes top position. Hill is active with strikes from the bottom but can’t get up. Esparza takes the back off an escape attempt. Hill rolls into mount, and Esparza reigns down with punches. Hill gives up her back again, and Esparza begins to work for a rear-naked choke. Hill, though, fights off the choke and escapes back to her feet. Once they’re back up, Esparza lands another takedown and quickly transitions to the back. Hill scrambles, but Esparza locks in the rear-naked choke. After a brief struggle, Hill taps out.
Correia: 'The Four Horsewomen are a big joke,' Rousey 'proven she's the best women's fighter'
"She said she's used to being booed, but here it's different. She just fought here in a judo competition, which is much more different than MMA. She doesn't know how the Brazilian crowd reacts and the energy they send. They'll all be with me and I'm sure she'll feel it. She will fight a Northeastern Brazilian with hot blood. To me it will be wonderful and to her it'll be a disaster. I want to be the champion, that's all I'm thinking about and I'm already preparing for it," Correia said.
Cage Warriors 73 takes shape with Alex Enlund, Ronnie Mann, Liam James
“With just over four weeks to go, this card is looking very exciting, and we’ve still got some more exciting bouts to reveal,” Cage Warriors Fighting Championship CEO Graham Boylan stated. “This event is stacked with some of the very best talent on our roster, so it’s going to be another event that fans in the northeast of England won’t want to miss.”

I am so excited for the work Pauline does on my behalf. I have purchased several e-books to spark muscle growth and tips or tricks to do things differently for effectiveness. This app goes great with the books I've purchased. The major plus is that I can see execution in a video rather looking at the pictures in my books. I absolutely love having the meals written out like they are. The fee to unlock the locked information will be worth it to me. I can not wait for better progress to come. So far, after two weeks my back and delts are happy and showing results. Two of my hardest body parts to deem results. I love my Back Attack and Delts 2 Die 4. Now to properly implement cardio and get ready to hit that stage in 2015. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the competition e-book. Now when a movement is questionable, this will be like having you there for correction.
Woman vs. man in a bare-knuckle, no-rules fight? It happened, and the story behind it is a wild one
But when Gomes headed off to Rio Heroes, she didn’t tell Patino. She was afraid, she said. She wasn’t sure he’d approve. At the same time, it wasn’t like her options as a female fighter in Sao Paulo were limitless. She’d traveled around Brazil for various jiu-jitsu tournaments, Gomes said, but attempts to book an actual MMA fight had fallen through at the last minute. When she heard about Rio Heroes, and about this fight against a man, it didn’t sound so bad. It also sounded like it might not be totally legitimate.

Norman Parke out of UFC 180 fight against Diego Sanchez in Mexico City
Parke has not lost in 11 fights. The lightweight winner of “TUF: Smashes” is 4-0-1 in the UFC, most recently picking up a second-round TKO of Naoyuki Kotani at UFC Fight Night 46 in Dublin. That got him back on track after a draw with Leonardo Santos in March – a fight Parke would have won had he not lost a point for grabbing Santos’ shorts.
Welcome to the UFC, Islam Makhachev
On his feet, Makhachev is very much a winging striker. He throws big, wide hooks with speed and power and accuracy. The technique isn't necessarily there, but much like Nurmagomedov, his using of timing and distance control makes his striking much more dangerous than it otherwise might be. Beyond his striking, Makhachev is a very, very good wrestler and controlling grappler. He has an excellent, and complicated shot, moving well to change angles on his takedowns while also switching between singles, doubles, trips, and throws. If he's looking to take a fighter down, it's very likely that he will, one way or another. Once on the ground, he does an excellent job finding dominant positions, be it half guard, side control or mount. He's not the best at controlling those positions, something that more BJJ training might make him more adept at, but his excellent scrambling skills keep him from getting in too much danger even when he loses position. He's already shown some grappling flair, hitting a mounted triangle from crucifix his last time out.
