“You’re going see two of the best middleweights in the planet," Bisping promised. "I’m hungry. I want to be world champion. I’m taking the fight to Luke Rockhold. It has all the ingredients to be Fight of the Year.”
Unfortunately for Team Melendez, the second round was a different story entirely, with Daly peppering Magana on the feet and eventually taking her to the ground to work some top control of her own. Daly was nothing short of suffocating, landing some solid shots to the body and simply out-positioning Magana before locking in a rear naked choke of her own as the round expired.

Georges St-Pierre: Nick Diaz ‘made a mistake’ accepting Anderson Silva fight
“I believe in the early part of the fight, Silva will have an advantage,” St-Pierre said. “If Diaz can survive and weather the storm, he can come back strong in the last part of the fight like the fourth and fifth round. He’s a very durable fighter, and he brings it to the fight. When you fight him, he’s talking to you. He brings a different intensity than I’ve seen before. You feel claustrophobic and lose a lot of energy because he’s pushing forward. It’s very hard to fight a guy like him, especially in the later rounds.”
Buffalo David Bitton Announces Ronda Rousey as First Female Face of Brand
Add another endorsement to Ronda
Rousey ’s vast list, as Buffalo David Bitton announced on
Thursday that the UFC women’s bantamweight champion will be one of
the faces of Buffalo Pro.
The brand, which specializes in denim, has enlisted Rousey, along
with NBA stars Kevin Love and Chandler Parsons, as well as NFL
player Eric Decker, to help bolster a holiday campaign focusing on
the brand’s athletic apparel division.
“It’s such an amazing opportunity to be able to represent Buffalo
Pro,” Rousey said via press release. “Not only am I the first
female they’ve ever had representing the campaign, but it’s the
first time any MMA fighter has done any type of fashion thing at
all. I feel really honored to be taking the first steps into this
industry. I never had the confidence when I was younger to dress
well, and avoided any type of fashion and femininity, and I’m
enjoying the chance to embrace it at this point in my life.”
The marketing campaign will appear across print, digital and social
media platforms. This deal, along with Rousey’s upcoming roles in
"Furious 7" and "Entourage" in 2015, will continue to enhance
“Rowdy’s” brandalong with her undefeated fighting profile.

Gone are the days when solar panels were an exotic plaything of Earth-loving rich people. Solar is becoming mainstream, and prices will continue to drop as the technology improves and financing becomes more affordable, according to the report.

Donald Cerrone vs. Myles Jury Replaces Rousey vs. Zingano at UFC 182 | MMAWeekly.com
This is a HUGE fight for Myles Jury. I think Cerrone is on a whole other level than anybody Jury has fought in the UFC. If Jury wins this throws him in the mix with the other tops guys in the division. That being said, I still think Cerrone wins if he can survive his usual slow start.
UFC Champion Ronda Rousey Breaks Out
Even in a phone interview laced with laughter and occasionally stalled by spotty cell service, Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey made it clear that she will not be stopped. Speaking at a clip of 100 words a minute, the 27-year-old Californian rifled through heaps of opinions, insights and one-liners without ever sounding as though my-way-is-the-only-way. Nicknamed “Rowdy” after the microphone-grabbing pro wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Rousey said, “Well, they don’t call me ‘Congenial’ because of the way I fight. Rowdy is one of my greatest heroes of all time. It wasn’t just how he wrestled — he captivated people. You couldn’t take your eyes off him.” Rousey, the first American to medal at the Olympics in judo, has her own share of fandom. UFC is said to have more fans than Major League Baseball — 300 million-plus, according to the global marketing research company Repucom. Rousey scores a 72.23 in its Breakthrough category rankings, “which measure the extent to which consumers pay attention to a celebrity when they see him/her in the media.

Maybe it's the fault of my subconscious cultural expectations, but I hear "Gilbert Burns" and picture a guy in my head that looks like a young Ving Rhames. For some reason, I don't think this when I hear "John Lineker", even though that name sounds just as non-Brazilian. The fact that John Lineker has a non-Brazilian sounding name somehow fits with his other quirks. Gilbert Burns just confuses me. It's like finding out that Marcus Giles is white all over again. Can we call him Gilberto Burneiro?

You've been doing Fighter Diet for a long time to get ripped, maybe for a fitness show or a photo shoot, or maybe you're like me who just get a high from being lean and buff not only for a contest but for every day of your life. Now, how do you maintain that condition?
If you've done more than one show you know that every darn time you promise yourself to stay in great shape and you actually believe you will succeed this time, but then you get hit by the dreaded post contest blues... And you just cannot sustain your great diet habits anymore. You're burned out. You might be able to maintain your condition and sticking to your leanness promoting diet, but then, it just goes straight out the window.
Why is it so hard to maintain a lean physique?
Well, let's start with
MMA fighter a hit with disabled teens
On Wednesday, music was a big motivator for the teens, who danced and sang along to a boom box that Beltran carried along on a warm-up jog through the parking lot then played at high volume during class. The other motivator was a foam pool noodle that he playfully bopped the kids with whenever their attention strayed, invariably provoking squeals of delight.
Exclusive: Cung Le and Victor Conte Explain How UFC Drug Test Was the Failure | MMAWeekly.com
“So, first of all, the basic information saying urine samples by all fighters on the card were done at the Hong Kong lab. That is just simply false regarding Cung Le, because the results that we have say Quest Diagnostic Laborites in Kansas. So, they start out by providing misinformation, the first sentence is just factually wrong. The second sentence in part exposes why the UFC should not be doing their own testing, and whoever is advising them. The second sentence reads, ‘additionally the UFC requested the laboratory to test blood samples from four fighters for human growth hormone (HGH), erythropoietin (EPO), and testosterone.’ Now, let’s take a look at that test by test. Yes, WADA approved laboratories do testing of human growth hormone on blood samples, but they don’t do total human growth hormone concentration test by itself, but I’m sure you’ve read they do the isoform test, the biomarker test, and the serum IGF-1 test. So, it’s like a table has to have at least three legs in order for it to stand up and they didn’t even do any of the three legs on the testing.

Let me preface this blog, and every blog that follows, by saying that there is no “one right answer” when it comes to nutrition and fitness. There are multiple ways to achieve your ideal body. The advice from one nutrition and fitness expert can work very well for you. Does that mean the advice from every other nutrition and fitness expert is wrong? The answer is, of course it doesn’t. The truth is there are multiple “correct” ways to reach your ideal body and maintain it. This blog, and the suggestions that are made within it, in no way disqualify other advice as “wrong” or “bad”. Just as there are “many ways to skin a cat” –there are also many ways to reach your ideal body. Finding what works for you that you can also HAPPILY MAINTAIN long term – a lifestyle change where you can enjoy your food and workout a reasonable amount – is the key.

Before mixed martial arts came along, pro wrestling offered many of
its fans a similar appeal to what today’s MMA provides. While some
pro wrestling territories like Mike LeBell’s WWA, Salvador
Lutteroth’s EMLL, now CMLL, and Vince McMahon Jr.’s WWF, now WWE ,
often offered a more colorful and cartoonish approach to the worked
sport, other promotions like Bill Watts’ Mid South, Sam Muchnick’s

Wrestling tended towards a more serious feel where tough men with
an air of legitimacy battled it out for supremacy.
In those days, a frequent question among pro wrestling fans was who
would win in a real fight between the champions of different
territories. That is a question that has faded in relevance as pro
wrestling has gotten less believable, but it maintains a lot of its
intrigue when it comes to pro wrestlers who built their careers on
their tough reputations. It would have been exciting to see how
some of those pro wrestling greats would have fared in legitimate
Parke vs. Masvidal and Philippou vs. Hall added to UFC Fight Night in Boston
Philippou (13-4, 1 NC) rebounded nicely from a two-fight losing streak by destroying Lorenz Larkin at UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati back in May. The 34-year-old had managed a top 10 ranking at 185 lbs before losses to Francis Carmont and Luke Rockhold essentially blew up any hope of title contention. Hall (9-4) has won his last two fights, retiring Chris Leben to close out 2013 and then overcoming a grotesquely broken toe to win a decision against Thiago Santos. The last time Hall fought in Boston it ended in a shock split decision loss to the undersized John Howard. Philippou and Hall are familiar foes, having fought in 2011 at Ring of Combat in New Jersey. Costas was the victor by majority decision, and it stands as his last non-UFC fight.
