Dominick Cruz: TJ Dillashaw is walking into my trap

"They look at me, my fights and they think they've figured me out. They think they have emulated me and that they see holes in my game. They have no idea. They see the switching of stances, the moving this way, or that way, and they think they see holes. What they don't know is that there's a reason for everything that I do. They are supposed to be able to read it. I leave certain things out there for them to grab onto, and they are a trap. They study me and think they see flaws, but they are just walking into a trap."

Former title challenger John Dodson moving up to the bantamweight division

Now, because of the new UFC drug testing program where fighters are required to undergo rigorous testing as well as a ban on IV's to rehydrate after a weight cut, Dodson believes a move up to bantamweight is best for his career.

Conor McGregor Claims to be Highest Paid, Wants $100-Million-Plus

So let’s be clear…. Conor is waiting for this contract? So we are in the negotiation process correct? This will be interesting to see how it plays out. Conor has accomplished everything he has set out to do with the exception of Aldo. It will be interesting to see how this contract plays out. Dana and Luffa have always does everything to make sure the UFC brand is bigger than the fighters. Just so situations like this won’t happen. Conor and Dana are buddy, buddy right now but I can see this relationship turn into a Dana/Tito deal in about 2 years.

An Emotional Katie Nolan Rips ‘Garbage Human’ Greg Hardy And The NFL

Wow you are sick. We were having a normal discussion perhaps we disagreed, but rather than talk like a human being you resort to disgusting insults. I feel sorry for you, that you are so ignorant you can not speak like a grown person, and so vile and cowardly that you say things on the internet you would never say in real life. Does your mother know this is your name on here? No she doesnt, she would be embarassed to have a son like that. Does your gf? Nope. Cause you dont have a gf, and I wonder why. Because you are very clearly an impotent little fool that jerks off to porn, and because women have repeatedly rejected you. You have developed a complex and a hatred towards them. It is all because of your own inadequacies and it is for the world to see. I am not a feminist at all, I think her comments were a way to get attention in the media and it worked 100%. And I think his comments were stupid. But you are too much of a cowardly woman hating fool, who judges people based on gender, the gender that thinks you are discusting. Which of course. You are. And deep down you know it :)

Fedor, Sakuraba-Aoki Confirmed for 3-Day NYE Event; Fuji TV Discussions Ongoing

Nobuyuki Sakakibara's plans for bringing major MMA back to Japan are larger than expected. Thursday at Midtown Tokyo, the former Pride Fighting Championships boss announced details not just for the expected Dec. 31 New Year's Eve show in Japan, but rather a three-day event under the Rizin Fighting World Grand Prix banner. The event will start on Dec. 29, and run through Dec. 31, with the multi-day spectacle at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, serving as a fan expo, as well. At the press conference, Sakakibara confirmed the participation of Fedor Emelianenko . Though no opponent was announced, it was reported this week that Emelianenko is expected to face K-1 veteran Jaideep Singh . Also officialized for the Dec. 29 card was a catch-weight bout between MMA icon Kazushi Sakuraba and grappling ace Shinya Aoki .Additionally, the Dec. 29 portion of the card will feature an eight-man heavyweight tournament, to conclude on Dec. 31. Rizin will also feature female grappling star Gabi Garcia , as well as the pro MMA debut of Shoot Boxing and kickboxing standout Rena Kubota.

Glory 24: Fight preview and prediction for main card and Schilling vs Wilnis

Glory sometimes gets flak from hardcore kickboxing fans for their push towards using American fighters, but this is a really solid all-American fight between two fighters at intriguing points in their careers. Barrett was, at the end of 2013, arguably the #1 Middleweight in Glory, having just won over Schilling (who himself had just defeated Levin) in only his 4th pro fight. He looked good at the Last Man Standing tournament, losing a disputed decision to Schilling in the semifinals, and the sky appeared to be the limit for Barrett. But he's 0-2 since with losses to Wilnis and Simon Marcus, and he's looked pretty tentative and outmatched in both. He needs a win here in the worst way to right his ship. Jacoby is a stalwart of Glory, fighting high level talent again and again - all while in his first dozen fights as a pro kickboxer. He's the epitome of being thrown in the deep end, and as a result, he's struggled. But he looked good in a losing effort against Mourad Bouzidi at Glory 20, then dominated the field in an American qualifying tournament at Glory 23. Jacoby seems to really be settling into his own as a kickboxer right now - the question is, has he risen (and Barrett fallen) to the point that he can pull off the upset? I'm not sure, but this is another close call.

"I think I'm a much faster fighter and I'll keep a much faster pace than he's going to be able to handle" #WSOF24

You gotta feel for Luke Rockhold. The Santa Cruz born-prospect was riding high into his UFC debut on the heels of nine straight wins and two middleweight title defenses under the Strikeforce banner. Then he was matched up against Vitor Belfort for his UFC debut and this happened . By the time Rockhold came to, he had fallen prey to the greatest knockout of 2013 . Philippou has also fallen on hard times as of late, seeing his five-fight UFC win streak snapped by Francis Carmont via, you guessed it, an incredibly boring unanimous decision at UFC 165. One would imagine that main event status and a chance to be thrust back into title contention will make for a hell of a fight between these two, hence it’s ranking on the only ranking system that matters.

Alvarez Eager for Statement-Making Season

When your name is Eddie Alvarez, you carry a ton of expectations around with you. After spending more than a decade collecting titles on various stages around the sport, where he defeated every established name he could get his hands on outside of the UFC, the fighter widely recognized as one of the best lightweights in the world finally found himself inside the Octagon. As he stood across from perennial contender Donald Cerrone at UFC 178 in September of 2014, the moment fight fans around the world had been waiting for was about to jump off. For years, the dialogue had been that Alvarez was somehow the best of the rest because he wasn’t consistently fighting the best 155-pound fighters the world had to offer. None of this was Alvarez’s doing, because if you know anything about the scrappy Philadelphia native then you have a firm understanding that’s he’s as game as they come. Yet it was still a burden he carried on his shoulders. And when Alvarez came out on the losing end of his promotional debut, the volume amplified when it came to the doubt that he was ever as good as he’d spent the past 12 years proving he was.

"As far as that stuff and the future, no, I don't (think about it at all). I just take my stuff day-by-day and as far as what my legacy is later, obviously that's for the people to decide. The only thing I can do is give it my all when I go out there and fight and that's pretty much it."

Hindsight - UFC 192: Cormier vs. Gustafsson in retrospect

Disclaimer Time: So, I didn't do great on this card. In part because it was really well booked, and with a well booked card with a lot of close fights, I tend to get a little more whimsical. That too is one of the great reasons I don't gamble, because I enjoy picking things and getting them wrong. It allows me to learn more, grants me more enjoyment from surprise outcomes. I don't think I'd have that enjoyment if money was on the line. So, I use odds as a way of recording general expectations, which along with my own, create the narrative of a fighter's career from one bout to the next. I'm using Odds Shark for the odds on each fight and taking the mode for each fighter. Now, on to the fights:
