UFC 180 Free Fight Video: Fabricio Werdum Knocks Fedor From His Throne | MMAWeekly.com
When fighters reputations become legendary, they usually have a distinct advantage psychology in fights. The opposing fighter often will be a little more hesitant, emotional etc. Once Fedor lost the aura of invisibility, he was unable to get away with things he did before. He is definitely one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. Too bad negotiations with UFC failed, otherwise we would have likely seen some more amazing fights from him. Lesnar, Cain etc.
Feb. 14 UFC event in Colorado gets Holloway vs. Miller, Makovsky vs. Elliott
Holloway recently picked up his fourth consecutive win (and his third knockout during that span) with a first-round “Performance of the Night” stoppage of Akira Corassani. The 22-year-old Hawaiian had suffered back-to-back losses to top contenders Conor McGregor and Dennis Bermudez before the turnaround. He now fights Miller, one of the many UFC vets who came out of “The Ultimate Fighter 5.” The 30-year-old American Top Team fighter and submission specialist, who’s been sidelined since January with injuries, rebounded from a 1-3 skid with recent wins over Andy Ogle and Sam Sicilia, the latter of which earned a “Submission of the Night” bonus.

New state law prevents any Missouri city from banning open carry
Shortly after the override, gun rights supporters tested the law in a peaceful march in St. Louis with their weapons. However, local leaders worry this change will be anything but peaceful in a part of Missouri that they say is a world away from rural counties and not suited for open carry.

To The Good Men And Women Of Law Enforcement… Thank You For Your Service…
This country is now 238 years old. It’s because our men and women of the military have protected it from abroad. Let us never forget the men and women of law enforcement who have protected us from within. It doesn’t matter if they patrol our streets or work in an office at the FBI. This nation could never survive without each and every one of them. They are not perfect because they are human. They make mistakes just like the rest of us. There are a few bad apples just like any other organization. Those bad apples don’t last, and get weeded out. I have had a run in with a few having a bad day. They didn’t go to work that day looking to write me a ticket. They don’t go to work hoping to arrest someone. Those officers didn’t go to work hoping to run into Sandy Hook elementary. They deal with nightmares just like my fellow Marines. Police are killed in the line of duty while protecting us from crime. So I am grateful to all of them who put it on the line.
December's WSOF 16 gets a home in Sacramento with two title fights
Fitch, who challenged for the UFC’s 170-pound title in 2014, was one of the more surprising UFC releases in recent memory when he was cut after a loss to Demian Maia at UFC 156. He signed with WSOF and was choked unconscious by Josh Burkman at WSOF 3 in June 2013. But he since has rebounded with decision wins over Marcelo Alfaya and Dennis Hallman, the latter coming at WSOF 11 in a middleweight bout.
MMA star Tito Ortiz fights for his family
This is why Ortiz opted to prepare for his second fight in the Bellator series at home, instead of in the thin air and isolation of the San Bernardino Mountains. At 39, several years removed from a meteoric UFC rise that saw the smack-talking, grave-digging “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” go 11-2 and win six light heavyweight titles, Ortiz has found equilibrium with his family.
John Lineker requests immediate title shot against Demetrious Johnson: 'Weight is not a problem anymore'
"I made a mistake," he said. "I thought we would weigh in at 6p.m., but the weigh-ins was at 4p.m. Weight is not a problem for me anymore. I weighed in at 125.5 pounds in my last fight, and I can make 125 pounds for a title fight."

World Series of Fighting Champion Jessica Aguilar: Just Keep Winning
MMA fans worldwide are going to have a field day on Nov. 15. Not only is it the date for UFC 180, featuring Mark Hunt vs. Fabricio Werdum, and Bellator 131, featuring Tito Ortiz vs. Stephan Bonnar and Will Brooks vs. Michael Chandler II, but it also is the date for World Series of Fighting 15. WSOF 15 features not one, not two, but three title fights. Justin Gaethje defends his lightweight strap against Melvin Guillard, David Branch defends his middleweight title against Yushin Okami and last, but certainly not least, Jessica “JAG” Aguilar looks to defend her belt against Kalindra Faria. Aguilar will be competing in her third fight this year, and all of those contests have been title fights. In January, she made her WSOF and defeated Alida Gray with a first-round arm-triangle submission for the vacant WSOF women’s strawweight title. Aguilar went on to defend her belt in June against Emi Fujino with a unanimous decision. Next up for Aguilar is Faria. The two will square off at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla. Aguilar’s fight against Faria almost took a turn for the worse when information surfaced that Faria was still under contract with the XFC and that the WSOF would have to find another opponent for Aguilar.
Al Iaquinta a ‘little pissed’ he didn’t get a bonus for TKO of Ross Pearson
One of this weekend’s biggest winners was Long Island’s Al Iaquinta , who went to Sydney, Australia for UFC Fight Night 55 and TKO’d betting favorite Ross Pearson in the co-main event. For Iaquinta, in his first big step up in competition, it played out like a moment of arrival. Not only did he hold his own on the feet against the deft striker Pearson, he dropped "The Real Deal" with a counter left hook that signaled the beginning of the end for the Brit. The fight was stopped moments later as "Raging Al" pouring it on. Iaquinta Skyped into The MMA Hour on Monday from Byron Bay, Australia, just south of the Gold Coast, where he was still basking in the glow of his victory. When asked if he envisioned being able to take out Pearson on the feet like that, Iaquinta said there was more than a hunch that he could. "It was definitely one of the scenarios that played out in my head," he told host Ariel Helwani. "I’d think about the fight constantly leading up and I’d go through getting beat up for two rounds and having to come back and win…all these different scenarios, and one of them was definitely going out there and just having a flawless performance.
Rockhold Spices Up Mad Title Picture
“I was pissed off,” Rockhold told UFC color commentator Dan Hardy in the cage. “I don’t like people talking about training…[but] it’s in the past now. I don’t think we’ll ever be friends, but I’ve got a lot of respect for Michael. He’s a warrior.”

Rockhold ’s latest move up the 185-pound ranks came at the
expense of Michael
The former Strikeforce champion barely broke a sweat at
UFC Fight Night on Nov. 7 in Sydney, forcing perennial
contender Bisping to submit for the first time with a one-armed,
topside guillotine choke.
The win capped off a 3-0 year for Rockhold, who also scored
finishes of Costas
Philippou and Tim Boetsch
en route to earning the No. 5 spot in this edition of Sherdog.com’s
middleweight rankings. With the loss, Bisping remains just outside
the top 10 on the list of other contenders, while his UFC title
hopes have been dashed yet again.

Ovince St. Preux Delivers 34-Second Finish on ‘Shogun’ Rua in UFC Fight Night Main Event
An Open Letter to Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua: Please Stop Fighting
May I call you Mauricio? Calling you by your first name seems a little weird because I have spent years referring to you by your last name and your nickname, pretty much exclusively. Calling you by your first name seems a little too personal, doesn't it? But what I have to tell you today is quite personal, and so I suppose it is only fitting. Let's go with Mauricio.
Fortunes changed for five on busy UFC weekend
The added exposure for a fight in which Rockhold looked like a title contender and came across like a guy who could legitimately challenge for the title works in UFC's favor. It also would have worked in FS 1's favor, as they would get two major names, even if not live, on a show weak in star power. Even the Fight Pass subscribers would likely not complain. It could have been sold as a one-time special bonus, and explained it was only due to a major match falling out at the 11th hour. And anyone who would have watched the Sydney show and complained afterwards about anything, except perhaps the difficult question of picking bonus winners, is someone whose voice is not worth listening to.
'UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz' now has a Las Vegas venue
MGM Grand Garden Arena is a frequent stop for the UFC. In fact, the Las Vegas Strip arena played host to Silva’s most recent fight: a rematch and loss to middleweight champ Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December 2013. Silva broke his leg in the fight and returns after a yearlong layoff at UFC 183.
Live Life Lean - my Fitness App - Defat America!
That's why I created the Live Life Lean app. My ambition is to make the best health and fitness concept accessible for everyone who is hungry for change. I feel fitness and being healthy has almost turned into an ordeal, something impossible and too difficult to manage. It's like if you don't have an expensive membership, three hours a day to devote to working out and have all day long to cook healthy meals then you're doomed to be out of shape. This is truly ridiculous.
MMA fighter finding peace years after accidently breaking opponents neck
"It took two and a half years for the lawsuit to go through and I was found not guilty, but they were trying to garnish my wages for life if I was found guilty. It hurt me in the long run because it took two and a half years of not wrestling. It hurt me because they tried to sue me, and I didn't do anything wrong. It messed me up, too. He has to live with it and so do I. I didn't get to further my wrestling career after that."
Beyond the Octagon: UFC vets Riki Fukuda and Gilbert Smith, plus Tiger Sarnavskiy's flying knee
In the headlining bout, Riki Fukuda (21-7, 2-3 UFC) brought a pause to the action with an accidental kick to the groin of Dool Hee Lee (8-7-0). Lee would shake it off but, upon the restart, Fukuda would resume his vendetta against Lee's crotch, landing a knee that ended the fight for good. It was ruled officially as a no-contest. Fukuda is 2-0 (1NC) for the year, undefeated since his release from the UFC in 2013. Lee hasn't fought since his 2012 upset victory over Ryo Kawamura .

Ian Mcall on UFC Fight Night 56 pullout: 'My body completely failed me'
"Usually backstage, I've got a lot of energy, I'm shadow boxing, it's also a mental thing. I like to show the person that I've got energy in spades, cardio in spades, I'm going to cut weight, if we fought right now, I'd bury you. But I just couldn't. I couldn't move, I just wanted to save whatever energy I have for the stage. I went on, I made my weight, put on a little show, and then once we got backstage it just got worse, I started to drink, I couldn't get food in, I took one bite of pineapple and I was like I need a trash can. So [UFC employee] Isabella [Hodge] brought one over. I didn't throw up, even though I felt like it. they gave us the [pre-fight] speech and I couldn't stand up. They had to get me an IV at the stadium, they were like let's do it now."
Shogun Rua Contemplates Weight Class Change Following 34-Second KO Loss | MMAWeekly.com
Losing is always very bad, hurts a lot, but what’s hurting more is to lose without being able to show what I trained, and what I know. Fighting is fighting, and I know very well that in this weight class any punch that connects early on can cost a huge price. For many times in my career I was in the happy side and unfortunately this time I faced the sad side of this story. I know a lot of people will unload harsh words, some will make constructive criticism and others will take the chance to throw all sorts of jokes and offensive words as possible. Unfortunately this is all part of being in the spotlights, and it’s something that we as professional athletes, and mostly in Brazil, have to be always used to deal with.

When Michael Bisping says he's 'not going anywhere,' that could mean a few things
What he doesn’t have are the required physical tools to be UFC champ. That seems clear by now. Against Rockhold, he was too slow, too small, too one-dimensional. He spent most of the first round and what there was of the second getting battered by kicks that might as well have come from an offshore vessel, for all he could do about them. On those rare occasions when he did manage to get close enough to touch their source, he had to settle for a glancing blow as his target slipped past him and back out into safe firing range. Short of miraculous intervention from aliens or angels or a sympathetic street gang armed with baseball bats, Bisping wasn’t winning this fight (watch the Rockhold vs. Bisping video highlights ).

‘King Mo’ Lawal not frustrated by opponent changes, open to middleweight bouts
