Matt Brown vs. Tarec Saffiedine headlines the UFC's return to Colorado

Saffiedine got the win, but then sat out again for another long stretch of time before getting snuffed out in his last bout against Rory MacDonald in October.  The upcoming main event fight against Brown will likely be a fresh start for the Belgian born fighter as he tries to get back in the thick of the title hunt starting with this matchup.

Tito says Dolce doesn't know what he's doing; Dolce fires back calling Ortiz 'deluded and defamatory'

"I don't personally know Tito, and Tito does not personally know me," he said. "Tito's statements prove he knows absolutely nothing about my business, my athletes, my career, or what I do. I have fought professionally over 20 times in MMA, competing on Season 7 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter,' I coached ‘The Ultimate Fighter' as an assistant coach on three separate seasons. I've competed as a high school and Division I college scholarship wrestler, as well as jiu-jitsu tournaments, amateur boxing, and organized powerlifting. The one thing I've never been associated with is bodybuilding. I've never worked with a bodybuilder, I've never been a bodybuilder, and I've never body-built myself.

The Ultimate Fighter Episode 9 Preview: A Team Implodes

The fallout all begins when UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has to figure out how to deal with his team when it comes to practices and training.  It was a nice moment to see seven of his eight fighters make it to the next round of the tournament, but now that means six of them are going to be fighting against each other to get to the semifinals.  Only Joanne Calderwood is left with an opponent from Team Melendez as Rose Namajunas looks to continue her unlikely run towards the title in the next few weeks.

Bellator 131 Fighter Salaries: Tito Ortiz is the $300,000 Man |

As far as mma paychecks go, he’s not worth that much at all. Velasquez earns about 250 same as Jon Jones. Weidman earns 200 I think. All the people going for those titles earn about 100g. Now hears my problem with titos pay cheque. He is nowhere near as good as any of those fighters. He doesn’t have it any more. He never had it really. He beat a load of cans until chuck showed us all how bad tito is. The worst part about his pay grade however is that now he earns that, all we’re going to hear is. “I’m the best, I fight for my fans, I’m the best I’ve ever felt, I’m dangerous to anyone right now” and it’s all crap. He’s in a 3rd rate company. Tito thinks so much of himself however, he will never realise this as, tito is titos biggest fan.

IAN BAGG Ages 18

“One of the most complex and exciting stand-ups working in America today.  Like an idealistic hippy stuck inside the body of a testosterone-pumped US marine.  He’s been likened to late great US comedians such as Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison, but although he exhibits a similar brand of furious indignation, his observations and revelations are entirely his own.  His angry, insightful act is an absorbing battle between his raw libertarian instincts and his refined liberal sensibilities.”

Tayler blows our minds. Why? Well, for starters, she hands out hundreds of leaflets at her school, organizes vegan "challenge groups" to challenge people to go vegan and support each other, and gets animal rights videos aired on the school district's TV channel. Oh, and she started her own vegan club at school that now has more than 70 members and 30 sponsors. Tayler is a total superhero for animals!

Bellator inks 18-year-old phenom Aaron Pico to 'long-term' deal

“Simply put, Aaron has all the makings of MMA’s next great superstar, and to have him here at Bellator is something special,” Strikeforce President Scott Coker stated. “Like many of us in the MMA community, Aaron is someone we’ve been watching closely over the last few years, and after sitting down with Bob Cook and his team, getting a chance to meet Aaron, and hearing his long-term aspirations, the fit became very obvious.

Anthony Johnson: With suspension behind him, it’s ‘like a huge amount of weight lifted off of me’

The capacity for the Tele2 Arena -- a facility primarily used for soccer -- is in the northern range of 30,000 people. If the live gate hits anywhere near that number it will go down as the second largest in UFC history, behind only UFC 129 in Toronto (55,000 people). That’s quite a juxtaposition to go from being suspended by the UFC after a domestic violence allegation to fighting in an historic event. So, how did "Rumble" react after his civil case was dismissed…and all the charges were cleared…and he had his suspension lifted…and he got the call to fight the biggest draw in Sweden since Ingemar Johansson…all in rapid-fire succession? "I cried," Johnson told Ariel Helwani on Monday, during a visit to The MMA Hour. "Whenever I got home, I cried. I cried just because with so much going on and me not giving up and still having faith and believing in myself and stuff like that…I was emotional man, you know? Going through so much in somebody’s career and you get one of the biggest opportunities of a lifetime, that comes right to you. I couldn’t do anything but cry." This fall, just when he and Gustafsson were booked to fight, Johnson was abruptly suspended by the UFC for a lingering domestic violence charge in Florida.

Ex-UFC champ Georges St-Pierre regrets not voicing anti-PED stance earlier in career

“My regret is I should have done it a long time ago, but I didn’t have – in the UFC, the problem is a lot of fighters don’t have the star power and the money,” St-Pierre said. “I used to be one of these guys. I started from the bottom, and I didn’t have enough money to say what I think about out loud. Now that I have the money, I can speak out. If I fight again, I can put my condition down (for random testing).”

On Saturday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published a long, must-read feature on the death of Dennis Munson Jr., who collapsed and died following his kickboxing debut in Milwaukee in March 28th. The article sheds light on the “cascade of errors by fight officials” during the match, including a lack of regulatory oversight, an inept ringside physician — who was busy staring at his phone while Munson was showing signs of physical distress — and the use of same-day weigh-ins as an apparent cost-saving measure.

UFC Unveils 2015 Schedule with 45 Events, Including 13 Pay-Per-View Cards

For the first time, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has revealed an entire year’s worth of event dates. UFC officials Monday unveiled the organization’s 2015 schedule during a press conference titled “The Time Is Now” at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. All told, the UFC has planned 45 events for the coming year. The lineup includes 13 numbered events set to air on pay-per-view in the United States. The remaining 32 events will be UFC Fight Night cards, which will be broadcast in the U.S. as four events on the Fox network, 18 events on Fox Sports 1 and 10 events on UFC Fight Pass. While cities and venues remain unknown for the bulk of the schedule, roughly half of the events are expected to take place in the U.S., with six of those planned for the UFC’s home base of Las Vegas. Main target markets outside of the states include Brazil, which will host seven events and at least one pay-per-view, and Canada, which will see three to five events across cities such as Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.

Duke Roufus responds to team members' allegations, as other fighters chime in

“I have never been in a more toxic environment than when I was the head grappling coach and fighter at the gym,” Schafer wrote. “I saw teammate after teammate getting treated like sh-t. Guys being told to beat up lower level guys that were just trying to help out, UFC fighters being told to beat up other UFC level fighters so they would not come back, verbal abuse, violence, guys getting lied to about fights, etc. I have messages and conversations with almost everyone of his fighters from my days there; from his UFC stars to his coaching staff about how much they were mistreated. I will not out them, but they know the truth.”

Aaron Pico, Potentially MMA’s Best Young Prospect, Signs with Bellator MMA |

“When it comes to any big decision I make, I sit down with my family, my management team at Zinkin and the people that are around me that I trust,” Pico said. “We wanted an opportunity to achieve my dreams in the 2016 Olympics and transition into MMA, and when we sat down with Bellator, Viacom and Scott Coker, everything just sort of fell into place and I couldn’t be happier to be here and be a part of the Bellator family.”

Dana White Takes "Try The Churros" To A Whole New Level

It's a fine tradition that wherever they go, UFC execs end up sampling the culture of the peoples they visit. Hockey jerseys from Canada and all that jazz. So for UFC 180, there was a couple of plates of churros laid out and Dana White apparently went hog wild on them, as shown in this photo from his Instagram.

Despite the obstacles of regulation and a competitive market, Chan believes that Ultimate Poker could have been a great company, but that the internal operations of the company – not letting “poker people” run the operation, paying consultants exorbitant amounts of money instead of investing in talented people within the company, etc. – ultimately led to its downfall. The UFC owes its success both to the work done by people within the company and a whole lot of luck, but one wonders if the top-down approach that killed Ultimate Poker might bring down the largest fight promotion on the planet .
