The life-saving organization behind the series is Paws and Stripes, founded by Jim and Lindsey Stanek. Jim served three tours in Iraq and returned home suffering from severe PTSD. He was struggling, on the brink of homelessness and on a long list to be matched with a costly service dog. Lindsey and Jim, tired of the road blocks, set out to establish an organization that would adopt unwanted dogs from kill shelters, rehabilitate them and pair them with a veteran, at little or no cost.

[Graphic Video] Babysitter Deserves Death Penalty For What She Did To Toddler

There’s an enormous amount of trust required to leave your children in the care of someone else, but unfortunately not everyone is so deserving of that trust. Just As The Bible Warns, Universal Currency Breaks Ground, And Who Controls It Is Terrifying

( 2:190-194 ) Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors [idolators]. And kill them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, kill them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. But if they cease, God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression. The prohibited month, for the prohibited month, and so for all things prohibited, there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him. But fear (the punishment of) God, and know that God is with those who restrain themselves.

UFC Fight Night Results: ‘Edgar vs. Swanson’ Play-by-Play & Updates

Joseph Benavidez vs. Dustin Ortiz Round 1 Benavidez sticks a pair of right hands in the opening 30 seconds while moving backward, evading the strikes of Ortiz. A left hand on the end of a combination lands for the southpaw from Team Alpha Male, followed by a body kick and a short right hand. Ortiz keeps coming forward, sending right hands over the top, but Benavidez has the clear speed advantage in the early going. A left high kick clips Ortiz on the cheek, then a right hook and another head kick. The flyweights exchange body kicks, then Benavidez fakes a level change and connects up top with an overhand right that rocks Ortiz’s head. A left hook sends Ortiz staggering back toward the fence, where Benavidez clinches up and pops his man with a couple more punches before releasing. Ortiz catches Benavidez coming forward with a counter left hook, but his next three-piece combination pulls up short. Benavidez drives Ortiz to the ground with a takedown at the 30-second mark and leans left to right across Ortiz’s body, dropping a few elbows before time runs out. Sherdog Scores Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Benavidez Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Benavidez Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Benavidez Round 2 Benavidez has a kick caught but yanks the leg free and then hits Ortiz with a high kick on the other side.

Metamoris 5 will renew old rivalries, and invent some new ones

Metamoris works in mysterious ways. It’s a jiu-jitsu competition that features underworld greats like Rodolfo Vieira and André Galvão, but at the same time offers a platform for Brendan Schaub , who ran hot laps around Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu for 20 straight minutes one time back in 2013. In the specific martial arts just as in the mixed, a refusal to engage can technically be called tactical (and vice versa). When Schaub peeled away, the Los Angeles crowd didn’t boo in drunken Neanderthal unison; they merely tsk-tsked . But what I like about it is that for some reason the whole thing strikes me as a visit inside the Gracie family’s collective head. The golden-lit ceremonial look with the pristinely white canvas is the most Gracie backdrop ever. The exclusivity that sometimes leaves the media off the guest list. Very Gracie. The gong clashes. The vaguely Illuminati symbol at the center of things. The Sons of Anarchy cast in the front row. The idea that analyst Jeff Glover may just get up mid-commentary, strip off his clothes and weave limbs with Baret Yoshida, leaving Kenny Florian to fend for himself.

10 reasons to watch UFC Fight Night 57, including high-stakes featherweight headliner

UFC Fight Night 57′s headliner between featherweights Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar isn’t your usual “Fight Night” main event of questionable importance. It’s an immediately relevant bout in the title picture, albeit under the massive Irish shadow of Conor McGregor. We’ve all got questions about how this triangle is going to unfold, which is why the UFC isn’t fully committing to anything. It’s a good time to be a fan of the lighter guys.

Hey Mike! Do I Need More Calories To Build Muscle?

Hey Mike – Love your cookbook! Great recipes and have been enjoying them for about 8 months now. I’m down 25 pounds from 190 to 165! I’m starting to get back to a focus on building muscle and I know by now that you are against calorie counting, but everything I’ve read says I need a caloric surplus to build muscle. So, it seems I need to know/track these numbers in some way, right? I’m sure you get a ton of emails, but I’ve done a ton of reading and feel more confused than ever. Any insight/guidance/suggestions would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mike. -Kevin D.

UFN 57's Dustin Ortiz believes win over Joseph Benavidez qualifies him for title shot

Perhaps the best one is a win over Joseph Benavidez, which Ortiz stands to gain Saturday on the FOX Sports 1-televised main card of UFC Fight Night 57, which takes place Saturday at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. It’s his fifth fight in the octagon, and though his record says he’s 3-1, he believes he’s 4-0.

Boxing: Can Chris Algieri Shock the World?

Chris Algieri has won all 20 of his pro fights. | Photo: TJ De Santis/Sherdog.com ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Some walked by him without even noticing. Others stopped, looked on briefly as if they should recognize him, did a double-take and then moved on. Others did know his face and his name and took selfies with him. If Chris Algieri pulls off the impossible and beats the legendary Manny Pacquiao for the WBO world junior welterweight championship on Saturday in Macua, China, no one may walk by him and wonder who he is again -- as they did in early August in Atlantic City, where Sergey Kovalev was pounding on Blake Caparello. Algieri (20-0, 8 KOs) will take on Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs) on HBO pay-pay-view, and the Long Island, N.Y., native knows no one is giving him a chance. Many, as Algieri found out over the summer, do not even know who he is. “That’s been my life. I’ve been overlooked,” said Algieri, who attended Kovalev-Caparello as a fan. “No one knows me even as I’m about to take on Pacquiao, but the thing about it is, I’ve never trained full-time, never been committed to boxing full-time as I have now.

UFC Fight Night ‘Edgar vs. Swanson’ Notebook: On His Terms

Yves Edwards is winless in his past four outings. | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Once viewed as the prototype for the modern lightweight, Yves Edwards can see the finish line to what has been a long, eventful and outstanding career. Edwards will seek his first win in almost two years when he meets Akbarh Arreola at UFC Fight Night “Edgar vs. Swanson” on Saturday at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Winless in his last four appearances, the 38-year-old American Top Team mainstay concedes he soon will have exhausted his time in mixed martial arts. “Especially after the last year that I had, I’ve had to set some new goals [and] readjust things,” Edwards told Sherdog.com. “For me, right now, I’m considering this it. I don’t know what’s going to come after this fight. Win or lose, I don’t know. I’m not even thinking that far ahead. At this point, I’m training like this is the last one. I still love the game. I still love doing this. I don’t want it to be [my last fight], but it very well could be. Win or lose, it doesn’t matter.
