Nursing a back injury, Cat Zingano wouldn't have been ready for Jan. 3
According to a report on UFC Tonight, the switch in date had less to do with Rousey's marketability as a headliner than it did a timetable for recovery. Zingano's management team told Ariel Helwani that the challenger has been dealing with a back injury, and wouldn't have been ready for UFC 182 in Las Vegas on Jan. 3.

UFC Fight Night 55's Dylan Andrews 'can't see anything' but war with Sam Alvey
Andrews believes he lacks a certain overwhelming physical force and has toyed with the idea of a move down to the welterweight division. He had originally planned to make that move at UFC Fight Night 55, but he felt the combination of recovering from injury, getting back into fight shape and dropping 15 additional pounds would be too much on his plate.
Rashad Evans out of proposed fight with Alexander Gustafsson in January
Tentative plans were in place for Rashad Evans to return to action in January where he would face Alexander Gustafsson at an event currently rumored for January, but a lingering knee injury will keep the former light heavyweight champion out of action for a couple more months.

GLORY 18's Ilunga gunning for light-heavyweight title showdown with Saki
When Tyrone Spong and Gokhan Saki dropped to light-heavyweight, Danyo Ilunga found himself dislodged from the division's number one spot. Saki subsequently beat Spong to take the vacant GLORY world light-heavyweight title; Ilunga's annoyance peaked. This Friday he takes part in the GLORY 18 Light-Heavyweight Tournament. If he wins the four-man contest, he gets the chance to square off with Saki and try to recover top-dog status.
UFC Fight Night 55's Soa Palelei on 'family' Mark Hunt: 'It's a Cinderella story'
“It’s a Cinderella story,” Palelei said. “He was at that stage where no one in the UFC wanted him, and now he’s proven himself, and look where he’s at now. He’s fighting for the interim title. Good luck to Mark; he’s like family to me. Man, he’s got a great opportunity to prove a lot of people wrong.”
IAN BAGG Ages 18
“One of the most complex and exciting stand-ups working in America today. Like an idealistic hippy stuck inside the body of a testosterone-pumped US marine. He’s been likened to late great US comedians such as Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison, but although he exhibits a similar brand of furious indignation, his observations and revelations are entirely his own. His angry, insightful act is an absorbing battle between his raw libertarian instincts and his refined liberal sensibilities.”

UFN 55's Anthony Perosh headed to Jackson-Winkeljohn's to 'spruce it up a bit'
Perosh didn’t get much of an opportunity to display his full range of skills in his most recent fight, a meeting this past December with Ryan Bader that saw him spend three rounds on his back taking punishment before losing a decision. So in an effort to breathe new life into his career, he traveled overseas to Team Jackson-Winkeljohn in Albuquerque, N.M., where several of the sport’s top fighters reside.
Ronda Rousey-Cat Zingano fight pushed back due to Zingano injury
Cat Zingano has a back injury and would not have been ready for UFC 182 on Jan. 3 in Las Vegas, according to a report by UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani. Rousey was initially scheduled to defend her UFC women's bantamweight title on that card, headlined by light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and challenger Daniel Cormier.
UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Bisping - Idiot's Guide and Preview to the Fight Pass Prelims
Zachrich has some polish to his game. He's not much of an athlete but he's precise with his strikes, and really takes care of business in close. This could theoretically play into Kelly's hands, who won't mind the clinch, but Luke is pretty versatile. He's got a solid handful of submissions to his name, but he'll look to stay at range and picky Kelly apart. He's perfectly capable of doing that, as Kelly has that Jonathan Weizorek way of bulling forward as if standing knees are illegal, and therefore not a threat. But those are good enough odds to consider, even if it won't be my pick.
Rashad Evans aims for March return, puts off plans for bout with Alexander Gustafsson
The results of that experiment are in. As it turns out, Evans says his body isn't ready. The Blackzilian team member claims he can't commit fighting Gustafsson any time soon. Ariel Helwani first reported the news on Wednesday's UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1. "My leg isn't strong," Evans reportedly told Helwani. "I can't explode off it like I normally used to be able to and it still feels unstable. My management team wouldn't let me take the fight. Glenn [Robinson, his manager] said, 'At this stage of your career there is no need to rush into a fight especially coming back from a major injury'." Evans, though, still intends to return the Octagon as soon as possible and is targeting a March 2015 return.
Dan Henderson targeting probable middleweight return in January
Even at 44 years old, Dan Henderson isn't opposed to a little reinvention. The former Pride and Strikeforce champion, who remains in the midst of a career-worst slump, told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani on Wednesday that he is "for sure" eyeing a fight in January, and that it would "probably" be at middleweight, as reported on UFC Tonight .
Jimi Manuwa targeting January return date to the UFC
Currently, the British fighter is targeting a return date in January once his foot heals. The UFC is currently slated to have at least four shows in the first month of the year so there's plenty of opportunity open for him to draw a fight.
Former champ Renan Barao not interested in moving up to featherweight
Gagnon is a solid, up-and-coming fighter, but he's ranked just No. 15 among bantamweight contenders. That's a significant step down for Barao, who had not lost before Dillashaw fight in May since 2005. Barao is just 27 years old and still ranked No. 1 among 135-pounders. No. 2 Dominick Cruz will get the next shot against Dillashaw.

According to multiple Dutch sources, including
De Telegraf , Nijman was killed by assailants while sitting in

Mark Hunt confident about weight cut for UFC 180: ‘I’m a big guy with a lot of fat on me so it’s easy to lose it’
"The thing about this is I didn't get much time for this to be honest," Hunt told Submission Radio . "It's like three weeks, two and a half weeks. So losing ten and a half kilos in two and a half weeks is not an easy task. And also coming over to the other side of the world. 'Cause I'm living in Sydney, so when my family is going to sleep, I'm getting up. But it's a totally different side of the world, and when you teach your brain how to do certain things, you teach yourself it's time to get up, you teach yourself it's time for breakfast, it's time for training, you know all that sort of jazz and you have to teach these things to your wife, and then when you get to the other side of the world it's the totally opposite."
Johnny Case vs. Paul Felder slated for UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston
Case, a longtime wrestler who’s racked up nearly a dozen knockouts, recently parlayed an RFA win into a UFC contract, and he then choked out Kazuki Tokudome back in his September debut. The victory pushed the 25-year-old Alliance MMA fighter and Iowa native’s current winning streak to nine fights, seven of which have come via stoppage.
