Bellator announces new show in February with Manhoef vs. Shlemenko

Bellator CEO Scott Coker said recently that if he could, he'd like to put Melvin Manhoef on a show every month. Robbie Lawler: I'm looking to dominate and Johny Hendricks never wants to fight me again

"When I went into that fight I was looking for a couple of things that never came. This time I want to win every round. Johny's a really good competitor and he fought Georges St-Pierre, who is another really good competitor. He was in there in a battle with a guy who's looking to win every round. Maybe not looking to finish, but who is looking to win. I think that's something I need to take that from the last fight," Lawler said when speaking with FOX Sports.

Now he has the chance to finally capture that elusive UFC title he's always wanted and maybe cap off one of the greatest career rejuvenations to ever take place in MMA history.

UFC 181's Robbie Lawler flourishes after rethinking no-sparring policy

Then again, to hear Lawler (24-10 MMA, 9-4 UFC) tell it, maybe he had to make those mistakes then in order to get to where he is today. If not for some missteps over the course of a career that’s spanned more than 13 years, maybe he wouldn’t be here, on the verge of a rematch with UFC 170-pound champion Johny Hendricks (16-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC), against whom he lost a unanimous decision in a Fight of the Year candidate in March .

Robbie Lawler’s True Calling: Madden Football Competitive Gamer

Robbie Lawler just gave someone at Fightland the sort of interview you’d expect from an experienced MMA fighter reflecting on his career. Sure, that’s all very nice. But there must be more.

Double-title action is just one of 10 reasons to watch UFC 181

Although we’re hurtling toward holiday madness and New Year’s Eve, it feels like it’s been forever since two title fights have graced a UFC fight card as with Saturday’s UFC 181. After all, we’re just about to our 44th UFC event this year, with three more to go after that until we ring in 2015 (and gear up for another 45 shows). Caged Muay Thai: John Wayne Parr giving fight fans 'exactly what they want to see' with new hybrid combat sports promotion

"I'm addicted to it," he continued. "I buy almost every single pay-per-view. As a Muay Thai fighter I got to this stage where I was very jealous of them fighting in a cage. I wanted to prove myself as a warrior, just to show I am just as tough as MMA guys are. I decided to get the cage and host an event. I did a little bit of research on Youtube and I seen a few Muay Thai fights in a cage, but they were wearing traditional gloves. And it looked wrong and really peculiar. If I wanted to get the same respect from the fans as the MMA guys get, there is no way I could have fighters going to the arena fighting with boxing gloves instead of MMA gloves. I thought, 'If I am going to do this, I am going to do this 100 percent.' That's why I decided for the gloves and the cage. Keep it Muay Thai rules exactly the same as MMA except for when it goes to the ground, you stop and stand back up again. Every single UFC fight that they call 'Fight of the year,' is the ones where they stand the whole time. I'm giving the fans exactly what they want to see."
