Conor McGregor threw a subtle jab on Twitter, and Max Holloway quickly countered

Since the defeat, Holloway has gone on a remarkable 12-fight winning streak; McGregor, meanwhile, captured titles in two weight classes and fought all-time great Floyd Mayweather in a boxing blockbuster in August. Today, after Holloway’s victory, the Irishman posted a not-so-cryptic jab at his former foe, who was a little banged up in their 2013 bout (via Twitter ):

‘TUF 26’ Finale Bonuses: Johns, Montano, Modafferi, Meerschaert Earn $50K Paychecks

Brett Johns grabbed a “slice” of UFC history on Friday night, and he was compensated accordingly for his efforts. Johns improved to 15-0 by authoring the second calf slicer finish in promotion history, tapping Joe Soto with the maneuver just 30 seconds into their bantamweight bout at “The Ultimate Fighter 26” finale. “The Pikey” joined Charles Oliveira as the only two men to execute the submission in the Octagon, and as a result, he earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check. Meanwhile, Nicco Montano and Roxanne Modafferi received “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their work in the main event. In a high-paced contest that saw the two flyweights combine to throw nearly 1,000 total strikes over five rounds, Montano outlanded and outworked her foe to earn a unanimous decision and become the promotion’s inaugural female 125-pound champion. Elsewhere, Gerald Meerschaert captured the evening’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for his second round knockout of Eric Spicely . Meerschaert softened his foe with a series of body kicks in the second frame, the last of which connected to the liver and finished Spicely 2:18 into the period.

‘TUF 26’ Finale Prelims: Ryan Janes Stuns Favored Andrew Sanchez in Remarkable Comeback

Ryan Janes, the biggest underdog on the card gets the huge comeback win over Andrew Sanchez! — FOX Sports: UFC (@UFCONFOX) December 2, 2017 Andrew Sanchez threw everything in his arsenal at Ryan Janes . It was not enough. Janes disposed of the heavily favored former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion with third-round punches, highlighting “The Ultimate Fighter” 26 Finale prelims on Friday at Park Theater in Las Vegas. Broken by fatigue and an accumulation of damage, Sanchez (9-4, 2-2 UFC) wilted 58 seconds into Round 3. No one could have foreseen the finish after Janes (10-3, 2-2 UFC) absorbed a hellacious beating in the first round. Sanchez tore into the Canadian with a sustained burst of power punches. Twice “The Ultimate Fighter 23” winner dropped Janes with right hands and swarmed with follow-up punches. However, his inability to close the deal proved costly. Sanchez entered the second round visibly winded -- and vulnerable. A rejuvenated Janes pressed forward, cut off weak takedown attempts and attacked the K Dojo Warrior Tribe rep with punches to the body and head.

Sean Shelby's Shoes: What's next for Nicco Montano and TUF 26 Finale's other winning fighters?

By the Numbers: TUF 26 Finale

No matter what happens from here, Nicco Montano will always be first. Montano became the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s flyweight champion, capturing the belt with a unanimous decision victory over Roxanne Modafferi in “The Ultimate Fighter” 26 Finale headliner on Friday night. Facing a far more experienced opponent who stepped in on short notice, Montano continued the underdog story she began on the reality show by outstriking her foe for five rounds to make UFC history. Here is a by-the-numbers look at the “TUF 26” finale, with statistics courtesy of 186: Significant strikes landed by Montano during her five-round triumph. By comparison, Modafferi landed 132. Montano outlanded her opponent 21 to 17 in round one, 46 to 26 in round two, 52 to 37 in round three, 39 to 27 in round four and 28 to 25 in round five. 957: Combined total strikes attempted by Montano (524) and Modafferi (433). Montano outlanded her foe 242 to 154 in that category. 29: Difference in professional fight experience between Montano (six) and Modafferi (35).

UFC 218 Bonuses: Alvarez-Gaethje, Medeiros-Oliveira Both Get ‘Fight of the Night’ Honors

One lived up to the hype. The other exceeded expectations. Both were found deserving of $50,000 post-fight bonuses. Eddie Alvarez vs. Justin Gaethje and Yancy Medeiros vs. Alex Oliveira both received “Fight of the Night” honors at UFC 218 in Detroit on Saturday night. Both bouts, as anyone watching the card can attest, were worthy recipients. Alvarez-Gaethje was perhaps the most anticipated matchup on the entire bill. The two lightweights did not disappoint, trading liberally throughout the contest. While Gaethje found the mark on many of his trademark leg kicks, Alvarez attacked the ex-World Series of Fighting Champion with body blows repeatedly. That work took its toll, and Alvarez capitalized with a knee and follow-up punches for a thrilling victory 3:59 into the third round. Meanwhile, Medeiros and Oliveira set the stage nicely in a preliminary welterweight scrap. Oliveira had Medeiros reeling with a pair of knockdowns in the opening stanza, but the Hawaiian survived the onslaught. Medeiros took control in the second frame and finished the contest in the third, putting the Brazilian away with a stream of punches and elbows at the 2:02 mark.

Matches to Make After UFC 218

Max Holloway sent a cold two-word message to those who would seek to overthrow him: Good luck. The Hawaiian superstar carved up Jose Aldo in their rematch and authored a third-round technical knockout to retain the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight title in the UFC 218 main event on Saturday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Holloway buried the Brazilian with punches 4:51 into Round 3, as he put his 12th straight win in the books and continued to paint himself as a historical figure at 145 pounds. Even armed with his vaunted leg kicks, Aldo was no match for the champion. Holloway lulled him to sleep for the better part of two rounds and then lured him into a firefight from which there was no escape. According to preliminary FightMetric data, the 25-year-old unleashed 212 strikes on Aldo in the third round alone, connecting with 114 of them. Picture a lawnmower hitting an ant pile. By fight’s end, Holloway had landed nearly 100 more significant strikes than the future hall of famer. In the aftermath of UFC 218 “Holloway vs.
