Mark Munoz Savoring Every Minute, as He Returns at UFC 184 |

“Obviously, there have been ups and there have been downs much like in somebody’s lifetime there’s going to be up and downs,” Munoz explained. “It’s through the downs where you really appreciate the ups and where in my career in the losses I’ve learned a lot about myself. Not just in the fight game, not just in MMA, but in life in general. There was a lot of stuff that was going on and then there are things that I had to fix. It mirrors life so much with MMA and wrestling. When I’m talking to people I’ve tried to equate that to life. There’s unforeseen things that happen to you. Like, when (Chris) Weidman elbowed me in the head, I didn’t see that coming. In the week of that I had to deal with a broken foot, the worst weight cut I’ve ever had, and then having to sit out a year, and gaining a bunch of weight. I gained like 76 pounds; there was a lot of stuff going on with me there. I really had to bear down and figure out what’s going on and find solutions that were going to help me get back being successful and doing things right again.

UFC 184 Betting Odds: $100 Bet on Rousey Earns $14.81, Zingano Pays $600

Ronda Rousey is once again a heavy favorite to retain her UFC belt. | Photo: Dave Mandel/ Although Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano both enter tonight’s title fight at UFC 184 undefeated, “Rowdy” is the heavy betting favorite. Bookmakers have released betting lines for the women’s bantamweight bout between Rousey and Zingano, and all have listed the challenger as the underdog. The event will take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles and air on pay-per-view. According to , the broker Sportsbook currently lists Rousey with money line odds at -675. On the opposite end, Zingano is getting play at +600 via BetDSI. In other words, a bet of $100 on Rousey would net $14.81 in profit, while a $100 wager on Zingano would earn $600. With the crazy payouts that resulted from UFC Fight Night “Mir vs. Bigfoot,” it may be worth dropping some coin on the underdog. The line will continue to fluctuate as the event draws closer. Below is the live money line via

UFC 184 predictions

There's a small hope I have that Zingano will drag this late with a gutsy defensive performance early. When it gets to those later rounds, so the hope goes, Zingano will then begin to physically punish Rousey in a way that makes the champion resort to desperate decision making. This is an entirely plausible scenario, but I can't say it's the likeliest one. As everyone has stated, Zingano starts slow while Rousey starts fast. I look to Rousey to throw an overhand punch to help set up a collar tie. She'll then use that to trip or throw and look to finish from there. Rousey's ground and pound from top position - last fight notwithstanding - is not that great, but her ability to snatch an arm obviously is. Again, I hold out hope for something more, but that appears to be the likeliest outcome.

12 Vehicles You Can’t Own In the U.S. - Land of the Free - Gear...

12 Vehicles You Can’t Own In the U.S. – Land of the Free Let freedom ring, unless that includes badass vehicles from around the world that is. With California leading the charge in the battle for the “greater good” and the federal government not far behind means that many companies have excluded the entire U.S. populous from getting the spoils of many of their longest lasting products. Due to government knows better than its citizens mentality, we are kept from being able to decide if a vehicle is best for me because it is illegal to own the damn thing in this our free country.   What is worse is traveling the world and seeing several of these vehicles being used for decades by their owners. Since it is stated 1/3rd of the pollution created from a vehicle is during the manufacturing process of said vehicle. This fact makes me laugh because a Toyota Hilux owner for 10 years is less polluting than the Prius driver that turns in his/her lease every 2-years. So let us now take a look at a few examples of vehicles that Uncle Sam has kept you away from.

Bread n Butter: Pros help us understand Ronda Rousey's inescapable arm bar

In just a few short years, Ronda Rousey's arm-bar submission hold has taken its place in the MMA world as a signature move much in the same way Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's sky hook shot did in basketball, Reggie White's swim move did on the line in football and Sandy Koufax's curveball did from the mound in baseball. Everyone knew those moves were coming, but they were so perfectly and uniquely executed that they still couldn't be stopped.

UFC 184 Statistical Matchup Analysis: Rousey vs. Zingano

Ronda Rousey will put her bantamweight title on the line against Cat Zingano. | Photo: Dave Mandel The UFC 184 lineup has been shuffled and reshuffled, and though the event is now more of an afterimage of its original soma, the headlining showdown between Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano remains genuinely compelling. Rousey has not competed since her 16-second demolition of Alexis Davis in July. After undergoing successful knee surgery, she looks to continue her run of dominance by adding a fifth Ultimate Fighting Championship title defense to her resume on Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In 10 fights, “Rowdy” has notched 10 finishes, with only one of those bouts making it past the opening frame. Traditionally, Rousey’s vaunted armbars have done the heavy lifting, but her last two fights have ended by technical knockout, showing an evolving skill set for the so-far untouchable champion. Related » UFC 184 ‘Embedded’ Episode 1 On the other side of the cage, the undefeated Zingano has for years been considered the most legitimate threat to Rousey’s throne outside of Cristiane Justino .

Raquel Pennington on Promotion to UFC 184 Co-Headliner: ‘I Deserve to Be There’

Raquel Pennington feels well prepared for Holly Holm. | Dave Mandel/ As a cast member of the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter" to include females, Raquel Pennington knows what it means to be scrutinized. Thanks to that experience, Pennington isn’t really feeling the pressure following her promotion to UFC 184 co-headliner. “You know, it's exciting. I mean, I kind of just try to put everything off when it comes to it,” Pennington said during a conference call. “It's the same thing I did with ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Everybody made it such a huge hype with my season, [with] us being the first women in the house and what not, and if you put that pressure on yourself it kind of plays a part.” Saturday’s event at Staples Center in Los Angeles was decimated by injuries and card reshuffling, as three major bouts -- Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort , Jacare Souza vs. Yoel Romero and Frank Mir vs. Antonio Silva -- were all eventually removed from the event. As a result, Pennington’s bantamweight matchup with former boxing world champion Holly Holm occupies a more prominent spot than initially anticipated.

Zingano on UFC 184 Bout with Rousey: ‘I Have Things to Offer People Haven’t Seen Before’

Cat Zingano is well-versed in the art of the comeback. | Jeff Sherwood/ When attempting to calculate Cat Zingano ’s upset prospects at UFC 184 , footage of her last two Octagon appearances can simultaneously be sources of encouragement and dismay. The good: In victories over Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes , Zingano rallied from slow starts to win via third-round technical knockout on both occasions. That toughness and ability to persevere through adversity has gotten reigning bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey ’s attention. “I think that Cat's resilience is one of the things that has really impressed me about her the most. And I think that's what's really gotten her most of her fans. It’s not just the way that she fights but the way that she endures,” Rousey said during a recent conference call. “She's not one of those people that can start losing a fight and you can count on them being a front runner and just beating themselves. She's one of those people that has to be finished all the way until the very, very end and I'm ready for that.

Koscheck has not competed since being knocked out by Tyron Woodley at UFC 167 in November 2013, some 15 months ago. “I wanted to take some time off to refresh my brain, refresh my body,” he said in a pre-fight interview with . “When you’ve being going as long as I have for as hard as I have, you need to just take a step back and experience what life is and what life has to bring after this game is done. “The long wear and tear of just the long 12 years of grinding for this sport caught up to me,” Koscheck added, “and I needed to take a break from the game for a little bit, just take a step back, take a deep breath, refocus and make another run at this thing.

UFC files motion to dismiss fighter antitrust lawsuit

Plaintiffs fail to allege facts that plausibly show that Zuffa's alleged exclusive dealing arrangements are anticompetitive. Exclusive deals are common and procompetitive, including in sports, because they encourage interbrand competition, encourage promoters to invest in marketing both the athlete and the sport, and prevent competitors from free-riding on those investments. Plaintiffs' conclusory accusation that Zuffa's contracts "indefinitely" lock up "all or virtually all" of the Professional MMA fighters necessary to compete in the promotion of MMA bouts is unsupported by specific factual allegations and implausible on its face. Plaintiffs' conclusory allegation that Zuffa has locked up all the venues, television outlets and sponsors necessary to compete is similarly implausible and without factual foundation. Plaintiffs' Complaints do not show that Zuffa has foreclosed any competition in the alleged markets, much less foreclosed a substantial share of the alleged markets. Absent plausible allegations that the UFC's exclusive deals have foreclosed competitors from obtaining the necessary inputs to compete, Plaintiffs cannot show that Zuffa's contracts are anticompetitive or justify the enormous expense of a large antitrust case.

Bellator 134 results and GIFs: McGeary edges out Newton, King Mo beats Kongo, 'Semtex' wins

Newton escaped a series of submissions by McGeary in an incredible first round. Triangle choke, armbar, keylock, inverted triangle, leglock, you name it, Newton escaped it. That he kept getting himself into bad spots is one thing, but the champ refused to relinquish his title even as he risked a 10-8 round being scored against him. Despite the early scare, Newton continued to go for takedowns and fight in Liam's guard over the course of the fight, and in the 3rd round he found himself in a mounted triangle in the closing seconds. There wasn't enough time for McGeary to get the tap but it looked dangerous. The 4th round was Newton's best as he was able to land good, flush strikes and of course get his takedown with ease. Newton immediately grounded McGeary, who finished his submission attempt tally at 14 but could finish none. The champion wasn't able to advance into a seriously threatening position but was able to largely control McGeary and avoid any serious danger in the final 5 minutes. Obviously the judges rewarded the submission attempts and constant aggression from McGeary from the bottom, and a 48-46 card likely meant that a 10-8 round 1 was scored.
