Henry Cejudo Believes Demetrious Johnson Could Easily Defeat T.J. Dillashaw

Former flyweight title challenger Henry Cejudo has weighed in with his thoughts on the outcome of a potential superfight between the current Ultimate Fighting Championship 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson and bantamweight ace T.J. Dillashaw . Cejudo has experienced firsthand just how good Johnson is back at UFC 197 in 2016, when lost via TKO in the first round. Cejudo recently appeared on and commented on the bout, believing “Mighty Mouse” would easily win while pointing out the weight loss as being the deciding factor in the fight. “I have Demetrious by a landslide, to be honest with you. I think Demetrious’ speed; he’s intelligent, nothing to take away from T.J. I’ve said it before, I think it’s just a weight issue. I think it’s T.J. getting down those extra 10 pounds and how he recovers the next day. I think that’s the biggest factor in that fight.” Fight fans are eager for “Mighty Mouse” to test himself after he set a UFC record in his last fight against Ray Borg for most title defenses with 11. Two bouts have been added to the UFC 224 lineup, as John Lineker will square off against Brian Kelleher at bantamweight, while Thales Leites will meet Jack Hermansson at middleweight in Rio de Janeiro on May 12. Multiple outlets have confirmed the Lineker vs. Kelleher booking following an initial report by Combate . Meanwhile, the promotion officially announced the Leites vs. Hermansson showdown on Monday. UFC 224 takes place at Jeunesse Arena and will feature a women’s bantamweight championship clash between Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington . Lineker has won seven of his last eight Octagon appearances, including a unanimous decision triumph over Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 119 in his lone bout of 2017. Kelleher, meanwhile, has won three of his four in the promotion and is coming off a three-round verdict over ex-champ Renan Barao at UFC on Fox 28 on Feb. 24. Leites is 2-5 in his last seven and most recently suffered a decision loss to Brad Tavares at UFC 216. Hermansson had a two-fight winning streak snapped in a first-round TKO defeat to Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 119.

In a somewhat unorthodox approach to calling fighters out, Clay Guida ’s recent effort to try and bait Nate Diaz into a fight really takes the cake. Guida posted a video on Instagram calling out Diaz while peddling on his bike. “The Carpenter” tells Diaz, who is a former “The Ultimate Fighter” winner, to “get real real high this time” before the bout so he won’t feel a thing. It’s difficult to gauge whether Diaz would even be interested in this fight at all, as he’s been chasing a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor , which would guarantee the Stockton native a very handsome pay check.

On Cro Cop, Bellator's Scott Coker has questions, so it's only fair to give him some answers

Cro Cop seems to be getting away with it in part because enough time has passed that the heat has all died down. It’s been more than two years since he was hit with a two-year suspension, after all. It’s just that he kept fighting and getting paid during the suspension, so there is a legitimate question about whether or not he suffered any real consequences for using human growth hormone while preparing for a fight.

He also suffered a knockout loss to Glover Teixeira and a decision defeat to Ryan Bader at light heavyweight during his current skid. The 38-year-old hasn’t tasted victory since a third-round TKO of Chael Sonnen at UFC 167 in November 2013. 19-Time UFC Veteran Rick Story Signs with Professional Fighters League

Another prominent fighter with UFC ties has signed with the Professional Fighters League. Rick Story , who has 19 UFC appearances under his belt, announced during ”The MMA Hour” that he will enter PFL’s $1 million tournament, presumably at welterweight. Story joins Will Brooks as the latest former UFC talent to join the fledgling organization. PFL is the rebranded version of the promotion formerly known as World Series of Fighting. Under its new format, there will be a regular season beginning on June 7, followed by postseason events on consecutive Saturdays in October. Champions from each weight class will be crowned on Dec. 31, with each winner receiving a $1 million prize as well. “I’m just gonna say it’s worth my while,” Story said on “The MMA Hour”. “And stacking on top the format they have and being able to win that amount of money just by winning, it kind of suits my interest, because it’s performance-based. You win, you get paid more. You lose, you’re out. It’s just cut and dried.” Story has been out of action since August 2016.
