FDXtreme get ripped (Athlete)

I never wanted to be a professional yo-yo dieter, that's why I always refused to have off seasons body composition wise. In my world it's embarrassing if you look like a totally different person in real life compared to your photos or competition pics. If you need to spend half a year at leaning out all the flab just to do a show or two or a photo shoot or two, because your appetite is too big or your discipline to weak, is it really worth it? Looking great two days a year and then be soft and mushy. For me it never was anyway. I'm not talking about having a few healthy pounds to shed for an event, I'm referring to all those who get FAT, yeah FAT when the show time is over. The ladies get double butt size and with that follows stretch marks which don't look great on stage. It's manageable

Players use a $25,000 artificial salary cap to draft 5 fighters from the card before each event begins. Eachfighter has a salary designated by Kountermove -- salaries range from $3,000 to $8,000. The winners are determined based on how the fight plays out rather than simply a fight's outcome (pick'em format). Kountermove calculates a fighter's fantasy score based on the number of strikes, takedowns, submissions, dominant positions, and rounds won. Scoring data from the fights flows into the site in near real-time, so players can monitor their teams as the event happens. The data used in calculating a fighter's score is provided by UFC's official stats provider, FightMetric.

http://www.axs.tv/sports/kenny-rice-difference-in-opinions-skepticism-doesnt-make-you-a-hater/

HATERS–As tough as nails in training and fighting, most MMA fighters are among the most touchy about opinions that differ. Pick the other person to win, you have to hate them. Question a publicized problem they have, you obviously hate them or would never bring it up, even though everyone else has. Refuse to do an interview with them because they don’t want to answer questions everyone wants to know, you hate them a lot. It stems from the encouragement of building a twitter following, a Facebook fiefdom, and other social media outlets. Public arguments with people you don’t even know are rewarded monetarily by the UFC and some organizations as long as you increase their numbers. I believe some fighters hate that, and some alleged fans love that. They can get under the skin of a star by being a hater. It is a strangely symbiotic relationship of hating the haters yet acknowledging them.

Alexander Gustafsson: Jon Jones 'does what it takes to not fight me'

"If I look at Jones' perspective I don't think that's strange, because he tries to avoid me. Everyone can see that. I can see that. He does what it takes to not fight me. For myself, it doesn't make any sense. I think DC is a great fighter. I respect him and I think he's a top contender, but I think he has to have another fight or two before he will fight for the title. The only thing that makes sense, in my mind, is me versus Jones next. I want him to beat Glover Teixeira , because I want to take the belt from Jon Jones."

The UFC: Too much of a good thing

I was always the optimistic fan that wanted more to consume. I was the Cookie Monster of MMA. Whenever anyone complained about the UFC running too many events, I told them to shut their dirty traps and be happy to have more of what they love in their life. But it turns out that those people were right. When you were a kid and your parents stopped for awesome ice cream on a road trip a few times a year, you remember that ice cream. It was something to look forward to when you set out on your long journey. But when the ice cream store opens franchises all over the place and you can get it anywhere and at any time, the allure is lost. Suddenly it doesn't taste as good. You can even get sick of it after a while.

Rousimar Palhares passes drug test, cleared to fight for WSOF title Saturday night

The NAC demanded Palhares take a random urinary drug test prior to receiving his license to fight approximately three weeks ago. However, since Palhares could not find a place to take the test in Brazil, he had to fly to Las Vegas early last week to do so. This forced WSOF to announce that should Palhares fail the test, they would move Tyler Stinson, who is scheduled to fight Josh Burkman on Saturday night, into the main event slot. Thankfully for the promotion, it never came to that.

‘EA Sports UFC’ Q&A: Developers on new grappling system, online DLC, release date and more

I would love to make some hardware that you could put on your head and you feel everything, but until we get to something like that, we will be somewhat limited about how we can implement BJJ into the game. That being said, we did want to bring more to the BJJ game in this new UFC. We didn’t want to make it, “Hey, we’re on the ground, I’m going to hit a button for a submission and we will have a battle.” Our submission game is based on the principal that if you get me in a submission hold, I’m trying to get out anyway I can while you’re trying to advance. In BJJ there’s a lot of steps to make sure you put on a submission hold correctly. If you’re putting on an armbar there is all these little techniques that are important to make sure you’re not giving the guy an opportunity to find a way out the back door. On defense we said you’re not going to cooperate with a submission hold. You’re always going to try to figure out where’s the door, where’s the window, where’s the hatch to the basement – whatever it is. How do I get out of this trap I’m in? Then offensively, my responsibility is to make sure I don’t let you get out, then when it’s the right time, take my submission hold a little further.

People are calling this undefeated fighter the 'Swedish Anderson Silva,' and here's why...

His name is Niklas Bäckström, or Niklas Backstrom for those people that don't know how to make those funny characters on their keyboard. He fights at 145 lbs, has a record of 7-0 and he was born on the same year George H. W. Bush inaugurated as 41st US President. Oh, just a few days ago he front kick KOd a dude in just 15 second, exactly like Anderson Silva did to Vitor Belfort a couple years ago. Of course that's where all the 'Swedish Anderson Silva' comparisons are coming from -- Bäckström still hasn't broke his leg in a fight or danced with Justin Bieber on a Brazilian talk show, yet .

GIF: Atrocious refereeing on display in TKO stoppage of EFC Africa 28 bout

Today's EFC Africa 28 saw all of its competitors wear  black armbands in honor of Guylain . One of the fights that took place was heavyweight match-up between Christophe Walravens (4-1) and Bernado Mikixi (5-5). What you're about to see is one of the single most inept and dangerous moments of MMA refereeing you'll ever witness. Mikixi is dropped with a lumbering right hand, and Walravens proceeds to hit him with about a dozen unanswered shots to the back of the head. For reasons unknown, referee Wiekus Swart had zero interest in stopping the fight until Mikixi was lying on his back as Walravens shot a bewildered look at the ref: ( GIF courtesy of GrabakaHitman )

Twitter Mailbag: Hendo's post-TRT future, Chope's second chances, and more

But that brings us to the question about second chances. Should Chope have been released from his UFC contract for something he did years before he signed with the UFC? I don’t know. It’s hard to feel too much sympathy for him, but at the same time the UFC seems pretty inconsistent with how it applies its hardline stance against domestic violence. There are other fighters on the roster with similar incidents in their pasts. Chope seems like he got cut because his past came to light at an inopportune time, and when his value to the UFC didn’t even come close to outweighing his potential as a liability. While I don’t think you should be outcast from society and punished for the rest of your life for making a terrible, violent mistake as a young man, I also don’t think you can be too surprised if people decide they don’t want to see you fight for a living after that.

While a few injury issues along the way have prevented the 31-year-old from taking part in a few scheduled matchups, Cedenblad did score a 57-second submission win over Jared Hamman at August’s UFC 164 event.

Roy Nelson: TRT ban just put fighters using it 'back in the closet'

The TRT ban in Nevada appeared to be a popular decision at the time and one that fighters like Nelson would seemingly applaud because it helps rid the sport of a treatment often seen as a loophole for fighters to use a performance enhancer legally as long as it was done under the guidance of an athletic commission. Now that the ban is in effect, no fighter can use TRT while competing in Nevada, but ever the pragmatist, Nelson isn't sure the new policy will actually have the desired effect of eliminating synthetic testosterone use in the sport.

Stacey & Cardio For Leanness

I am writing to you with my sincere gratitude. I have been working my butt off to lose the last 15 pounds and get into competition shape. I haven't begun competing in fitness competitions but I am a pageant queen headed to Nationals at the end of June.  I am 40 years old and have had 4 children. I was plateaued in my weight loss and feeling incredibly frustrated. I have a decent nutrition plan and work out religiously but nothing was happening. I saw an add on your Facebook for the E-Book, Cardio for Leanness. I quickly bought it and read it. I started with the Contest Prep plan and figured I could do the final Stubborn Fat version if I got stuck again. As you can see by the pictures I have attached, in just 2 weeks I have made major changes in my body!!! I have tons more energy which I never expected to feel, and I am seeing incredible differences in my abdomen, chest, back and legs. My trainer is so impressed with my progress, I can't wait to see what I look like after 6-8 weeks of this program.

Report: Walt Harris and Mike Rio removed from UFC's active rosters

If these roster adjustments are in fact indicative of cuts (as they often are) Walt Harris, or "The Big Ticket" is a somewhat surprising release, considering that heavyweight prospects are somewhat thin on the ground. He's performed poorly in his two UFC opportunities to this point, dropping a unanimous decision to Jared Rosholt and more recently a knockout loss to Nikita Krylov at UFC on Fox 10. At 30, he's still reasonably young for the heavyweight division and if he can string a few more wins together I wouldn't be surprised to see him make his way back to the UFC.

45 Behind the making of “What is Love” music video by Lauren Mayhew - Wax Ecstatic Magazine LLC

Second, I shot this video with 10 MMA fighters including some of the biggest names from UFC such as Urijah Faber and Andre Fili. The storyline of this video is a modern day version of Romeo and Juliet where the two different ‘families’ and composed of two opposing ‘fight crews’ of the most baddass MMA fighters. I trained myself so that I could keep up with them and we not only shot in two gorgeous and gritty boxing gyms such as Prevail and Trinity Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, but we also shot for a full day out in Hungry valley in the desert. Except close up beauty shots, but also expect cinematic action shots filmed in slow-motion on the Red Epic.

Shane Kruchten knows his battlegrounds inside and out

Matt Brown had his first fight in an Ohio moose lodge, essentially on a drunken whim. Jimy Hettes, who struck fear in the heart of absolutely nobody with his boyish looks, dipped his toe in the fight game at roadhouses and strip joints in rural Pennsylvania. For Shane Kruchten , who makes his World Series of Fighting debut on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, it was at a bar in Menasha, Wisconsin. Kruchten didn’t intend to fight that night back in 2007, but when a local promoter needed a warm body to step in after a last-minute cancellation -- and dangled a bar voucher to its participants in the form of payment -- Kruchten imagined all the happy golden pitchers he could pass around with his buddies. The promoter gave him some shorts and tossed all 260 pounds of his jiggling frame in the cage. "They more or less offered me a fight and said, hey, we’ll give you a $500 bar tab," he says. "So that was first fight. It’s not on Sherdog or anything…it went all three rounds, I was basically a heavyweight at the time. It went all three rounds and I won by a decision.

The 32-year-old obviously wasn't training for a fight but if it's another year-plus on the shelf for him, the chances of the future Hall of Famer returning to the sport just went down decidedly today.
