However, he was most effective with a late-round barrage of punches from mount that Cooper only narrowly survived. Cooper was turtled up and eating dozens of shots, but he was saved by the bell – and made the most of it a few minutes later.

FD Woman's Black Book (Athlete)

Good Morning, P!!!!! ( I hope this is an appropriate place to share)!! I promised I would keep you updated on my health! We spoke back in April on the phone and you gave me your "view and interpretation" of my blood work! I tested all of the panels (and individual tests) you suggested in both the fd dungeon and your "little black book to fitness." And I have to say... wow.... you were so dead on.. it is scary! I met with the best doctor (IMO) that I could ever be linked up with. Her approach to wellness is both western and eastern medicine. She highly recommended I start with small changes and that we monitor from there. Our first step is: to increase my overall fat consumption (something you told me to do as well) which includes increasing my DHA fatty acids, cholesterol, etc. This is som

Alan U.S Marine

Having fallen in love with fitness back in high school drove me to go to college and earn a bachelors degree in movement science and athletic training. As I read through some of Pauline's books and her different concepts I knew right away she knew what he was talking about and wasn't just your fad diet or exercise routines. She understood deep down why changes take place in your body, how they take place, and what needs to be done to control those responses. From that point on I was instantly sold on the fighter diet concept, not just bits and pieces but everything she has put out.

Andy Shares His Inspirational 60-Pound Weight-Loss Story |

My health is at an all time best. A few years ago, it was at an all time low. I spent six years in the United States Marine Corps. Upon my discharge I had a series of misfortunate events happen in my life that sent me into a dark place in my life filled with self pity and eating lots of “comfort food.” I was fat, out of shape and depressed. I began listening to Joey Diaz’s “Church of What’s Happening Now.” Joey Diaz motivated me to quit feeling bad for myself. When you were on his show, you guys helped me make the decision to start The Dolce Diet. A few weeks later I ordered “Living Lean.” This was around May 2013. Once I started living the lifestyle, the weight started dropping really fast. I began jogging a few times a week. I could only run one lap before I had to stop due to the pain throughout my body and the inability to breath. A few months after that in August I got a gym membership at a commercial gym. I’ve been grinding it out ever since. This past Sunday, March 23rd, I ran a half-marathon in 151:44; placing 157th out of 900.

Bellator 114: Shlemenko vs Ward - Results and gifs

Still, it was the middleweight champion who was having the best moments on the feet. Shlemenko opened up more in the second round, working to the body and head with a variety that seemed to throw Ward off just enough that his desperation led to him getting out of position and getting caught in a choke by Shlemenko. Once Shlemenko locked it in, he forced the very quick tap.

Metamoris 3: Ralek Gracie on dream matches, style vs. style, challenges & more

I won't let this experience stop me from putting another MMA fighter on a card, though. I appreciate the fact that a lot of fighters take jiu-jitsu very seriously. They know the value of a good jiu-jitsu game, and in my eyes, they're part of the club. Of course it helps because there's name recognition and all that energy associated with other promotions. It's awesome. I do think matching them up against another MMA fighter makes more sense than matching them with a top of the heap jiu-jitsu player. You want to create an exciting match-up without setting up someone out of their league as an opponent.

Well, I don't think I need to prove nothing. I'm more than happy to be there and I've trained well. I do my homework like everybody else. You're talking about the high-level athlete and that's how I train my life every time I've been in a competition. It's not going to be different. Be conservative. Pay attention. Go forward, but if you need to back up, you back up. And that's how the fight's going to be.

5 reasons to watch World Series of Fighting 9

5. Shane Kruchten : MMA is a lot more than two men or women stepping into the cage to fight one another. It is years of hard work and dedication culminating in a 15 or 25 minute battle to test your mettle against a fellow competitor. For some it is sport, for others it is passion, and for a few it is rehabilitation. Kruchten is a former United States Marine who served time in Iraq. In combat, Kruchten suffered a traumatic brain injury that ultimately developed into post traumatic stress disorder. The PTSD made Kruchten edgy, angry, and ultimately led him to drugs. After a failed suicide attempt, Kruchten was brought back into the world with the help of the Wounded Warriors Project. Part of Kruchten’s rehabilitation has been his developing MMA career. This weekend he steps into the big leagues as he fights for WSOF. Do not miss his fight, and check out this mini documentary about his story . A special interview with Kruchten will be on FanSided tomorrow.

Conor McGregor takes shots at Jose Aldo, Diego Sanchez, and many more

Conor McGregor is certainly good at keeping his name out there. The injured featherweight is recovering from an ACL injury and won't likely return to the octagon until July, but people continue to ask him for quotes and he keeps churning them out. The latest steam of questionable statements came in an interview with Irish radio station News Talk, where he riffed on everyone from UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo to Diego Sanchez to some of his other contemporaries at 145 pounds. First off, here's what he had to say about Sanchez ( transcribed by David St. Martin of MMA Fighting ):

Carl taps, Yves Levigne jumps in and grabs Palhares who doesn't let go, Yves grabs Palhares hands and he releases the lock. Not the worst of Palhares' violations, but replay shows it's clear that he holds it well after Yves initially grabs him and forces the ref to pull his hands off. Rousimar Palhares wins by submission (heel hook), round 1.

UFC fight bookings roundup, March 24-29

WSOF 9's Josh Burkman: Fitch deserves title shot, 'I won't try to leapfrog him'

“I think Fitch deserves a shot, and I’m not going to try to leapfrog him, either,” Burkman recently told MMAjunkie Radio. “I think a win over Stinson just shows that I slipped up a little bit against Steve Carl, which is all that happened and I expect to go out and have a really good performance against Stinson.

Raphael Assuncao reveals injury that scrapped title aspirations

And in a card in desperate need of more depth and interest (at least that's what many were saying) the UFC couldn't afford to wait for him to heal. Split Decision: Who should be Daniel Cormier's next opponent?

Is Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante the fighter that's going to convince everyone that Cormier is ready to fight for the UFC light heavyweight title?  Probably not.  The fact is, however, Cormier was the No. 1 contender at heavyweight when he left the division. Sure his wins at heavyweight don't mean he's going to be a great 205-pound fighter, but you can't completely discount them either. "Feijao" laid an egg in his UFC debut getting knocked out by Thiago Silva, but outside of that lone, awful performance, he's gone 5-1 with 1 no contest with his only other loss coming to Dan Henderson, and that's not a bad defeat to have on your record no matter what your name happens to be.  I don't remember hearing this much complaining when Anthony Johnson -- with a 4-0 record at light heavyweight and his biggest win over Mike Kyle -- landed an even bigger fight on paper against Phil Davis, who is ranked No. 4 in the world -- one spot ahead of Cormier.  Oh and by the way, "Feijao" is currently ranked No. 13 so technically if we should complain about any fight, it's Davis vs.
