The Kahala Resort & Spa For this once in a lifetime experience, the Gracie Family and all attendees will be staying at the Kahala Resort & Spa -- Hawaii's top luxury hotel, set on a private white sand beach just minutes away from Waikiki's world-class shopping and entertainment. This famous hideaway resort in Honolulu's plush Kahala district is a favorite with http://www.kahalaresort.com/about/history/. From the moment you arrive, you will know that you are truly somewhere special! With five great restaurants, including the award-winner Plumeria Beach House, you can enjoy Hawaii's best cuisine without leaving the resort. To learn more about this 5-star resort, http://www.kahalaresort.com/. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in the Mornings – Sparring/Philosophy in the Evenings Ryron and Rener will lead seminars for the entire family in the grand ballroom at the Kahala Resort — Gracie Combatives for beginners, Master Cycle for advanced practitioners, and Gracie Bullyproof for the kids (ages 4 and up)! Eve and Victoria Gracie will host Women Empowered seminars for the ladies, regardless of skill level! To allow time for all the Hawaiian adventures we have planned, we will conduct all four seminars concurrently on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings so that the whole family can receive first-class instruction - at the SAME time - in a setting that is enjoyable for all ages and skill levels. Additionally, the Gracie Brothers will moderate sparring/philosophy sessions every evening. These optional sessions, open to students of all skill levels, are a great way to connect, roll, and share ideas with fellow jiu-jitsu fanatics from around the world. But, if you are stuck at the beach and can't make it to the mat on time, we'll forgive you! Surf with the Locals Waikiki Beach is the best place in the world to learn how to surf! Even if you've never surfed before, we guarantee you will be surfing after only one lesson with a local instructor! The Kahala Resort offers a free ten-minute shuttle to Waikiki throughout the day, so you can get all the beach fun you can handle! The formal group surfing lesson for the Gracie Group will take place on Thursday, June 18th, after which you can rent boards and surf on your own all week! We will charter a bus for the June 18th group surfing lesson, so that all participants to arrive at the beach at the same time. Any individuals who are not participating in the group surf lesson can take the Kahala shuttle to and from the beach. Diamond Head Hike On Friday, June 19th, we'll travel to Diamond Head for a fun and challenging group hike. Formed about 300,000 years ago during a single explosive eruption, this beautiful state monument offers a 1-mile hike from the trail head to the summit, and the view at the top is one of the finest in all of Hawaii! We will take a 2-mile group walk to Diamond Head and once we're there, the actual hike takes about two hours (round-trip), and will be a fun challenge for everyone! Traditional Hawaiian Luau On Saturday night, June 20th, shuttle buses will take the Gracie Group from the Kahala Resort to Oahu's west coast to enjoy one of the longest-standing and highest rated luau shows in Hawaii. If there is one experience you must not miss, it is a night of Hawaiian culture and hospitality at a traditional luau! North Shore Adventure Day: Sharks and Waterfalls On Sunday, June 21st, we're chartering a tour bus and we're heading to the North Shore for this once in a lifetime experience! For our first stop, North Shore Shark Adventures will take us three miles out to swim with sharks in their natural environment inside a metal shark cage lowered into the water. This tour is safe for all ages--you don't even have to know how to swim! Afterwards, we'll head up the beautiful coast of Oahu to Waimea Bay where we will hike 3/4 miles through the Waimea Valley botanical gardens to a beautiful waterfall! Finally, we'll grab lunch and head home! Hanauma Bay Snorkeling Adventure On Monday morning, June 22nd, a charter bus will take the Gracie Group to one of the most popular snorkeling destinations in the world, Hanauma Bay! We'll hang out for approximately two hours at this beautiful beach where you can enjoy a breathtaking snorkeling experience with over 400 species of fish and sea turtles! Hanauma Bay is an underwater wonderland you will never forget! Tentative Activity Schedule (Subject to Changes) We understand that some people will not be able to stay a full 7 days in Hawaii. Video: Did Ronda Rousey predict fast finish 3 days before UFC 184 fight with Cat Zingano?

This past Saturday night, UFC women's bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey finished Number 1 contender, Cat Zingano in 14 seconds ( 12.83 if you go by "Judo" Gene LeBell's stopwatch ), with a spectacular armbar finish in the sixth defense of her title. In the days and weeks leading up to the fight, many questioned her ability to beat the super tough Zingano, let alone finish her. Ronda, never one to allow self-doubt to creep into her mind palace, knew she would get the finish and possibly even predicted it, almost down to the second, as reported by  TMZ Sports .

5 Most Dangerous UFC Fighters

There is no way you can put together a most damaging UFC fighters’ list without including one with brute force and heavyweight capabilities. Hounslow, England’s 6 foot 5 and 256 pound native Alistair Overeem happens to be the largest, most powerful and aesthetically-frightening challenger anyone can come across in the ring. But can you imagine a fighter like this not possessing the ability of high skills, but rather the unsettling capacity to detect your dread? Nearly every victory won by Overeem has been through deterrent. In several of his fights he has managed to screw up the opponents so much that the fight was stopped by a medical professional.

The Fighter & The Kid

This podcast has jumped to the top of my UFC/MMA podcast list - but c'mon, once a week?. I really feel like Brendan and Bryan should be able to do at least 2 eps a week, or maybe 2 hours a pop - I mean, what else do these guys have to do during the day? Brendan habitually mispronouncing every major UFC fighter's name on the roster is a nice touch, too. I also want to hear more about Bryan's mad greco skills. I think he should do each episode shirtless.

UFC fighter rankings: Holly Holm in the top 10 following win in her UFC debut

There wasn't much activity in the latest UFC rankings update, but that's understandable given how UFC 184 was stripped of multiple fights featuring at least one ranked combatant. Perhaps the biggest question pertaining to the rankings was where Holly Holm would be slotted after she picked up a split decision win over Raquel Pennington in the co-main event. As it turned out, the voters saw it fit to put her in the top 10, three spots higher than when she came in on Saturday.

Kim Dotcom Dubbed A 'Fugitive' So The US Can Keep His Money

All he really has to do is to hire a US attorney to enter an appearance for him. Voila! generally not a fugitive if represented. Of course any attorney, myself included, would want a large amount of money to represent someone with a matter this complex. The government knows full well that if they tie up the money so someone can"t get a lawyer, the government will easily win because there is no defense. There was probably no one in that Courtroom to tell the Judge that he had volunteered to testify in whatever jurisdiction could be negotiated. In financial matters, it's generally the documents that need to be authenticated. If there has been tax evasion, which in this case, sounds probable, then negotiating for a proper filing of the return and payment of the tax usually fixes the problem. If not truly subject to the tax, then then matter generally needs to go to the IRS legal group for discussion, then Tax Court. All requires money. So really, unless this guy has non-US money, the government is going to win and he should just say goodbye to his money as it will be gone is costs, fines, etc whatever the government attorneys can pile on.

UFC fighters saddened by Burt Watson's departure

"He was that smooth-talking voice. The first time I met Burt was in 2009, before I was set to fight Roy Nelson. I was terrified, man. Roy had 20 more fights than me. I only had four at the time. But Burt made me feel all right. He is the first person you check in with at the hotel, and he takes you through all the steps. He's the guy you talk with before the scariest moments of your life. When you're stressed out, before a fight, he was the guy who made you feel like everything was going to be ok. It was not just a business, Burt really cares."

Substantia Jones's Body-Positive Photos of 'Fat' People | VICE | United States

Obviously, it's brilliant that you are countering the portrayal of unrealistic body ideals in the media, but—to play the devil's advocate—do you think there is a risk that these pictures in any way glorify a lifestyle that is, by some, considered unhealthy? There are indeed many lifestyle practices which have been found to have a causal relationship with ill health and early death. Do fat people engage in these practices? Sometimes. Just as thin people do. But being fat isn't a lifestyle. If my photographs promote any lifestyle, it's that of body acceptance, happiness, and well-being, romantic love, and gettin' your yoga on. I do not promote choosing your size, which has been proven to be a wildly unsuccessful task. No, it's the diet industry that does that. I'd love to see this question presented to them. "Dear Diet Industry: Do you think there is a risk that these pictures may glorify a lifestyle that, medically, is considered unhealthy?" I'd be your best friend forever if you do that interview.

UFC 184 Technique Recap: Clinching with Means & Jouban

Means is truly at his best when he can flow from one technique to the other, and from one phase to the next. From boxing range, he is always looking for an opportunity to utilize his vicious clinch knees and elbows. And from the clinch, he is more than happy to release his grip and return to boxing. The effect on his opponent is clear: Lima is so unprepared for Means' initial decision to clinch that, from the moment Means grabs his neck, he is stuck playing catch-up. Once Means has Lima reacting to his attacks, he can use his reactions against him, attacking the open body with knees, thus opening the head for elbows.

Career Threatening Illness Put Career in Perspective for RFA's Melvin Blumer | MMAWeekly.com

I applaud the guy for coming back but I disagree with the way some people treat fighters and other public figures who have come back from illness. It doesn’t make one person better or more determined that the other. I can see how people who have come back from things like cancer should be shown as great examples of perseverance but with lesser illnesses and those who aren’t really deadly (just make life difficult) I don’t see the big deal. I have a particular condition that makes life hell and very tough but I would walk out if anyone tried to say that I’m tougher or better than another person just based on that. The public sees these “damaged” people and latches on to them as if they are some charity case.

You know, it's like, I didn't expect that. I expected Ronda to be a beast. You know what? Ronda's a beast. I mean, what you saw in Ronda that night, it's almost like watching spidey-sense Spiderman, you know? In the movie, when the fist's coming at him from the back of the head and he sees it and he goes like this. It's like she sees movements coming at her in slow motion. That gives the left brain the time to let the body react to it. And she transitioned beautifully into that straight armlock that she pulled out. It was amazing.
