Dieting ...

Who cares you know this and that but you fail at putting that knowledge into DOING? I don't know how it got that way, but how come we have so many know-it-all-ers and besserwissers who apparently found the fountain of wisdom, yet they seem to practice more of the opposite to what they know they are supposed to do?... Because it is so easy to TALK. It is so easy to comment on what others should do or shouldn't do, but then oh, when it comes to themselves hm....what? who? me? Wait, did I say something about me?...

Morning Report: John Hackleman explains why fans don't love Jon Jones like they did Chuck Liddell

"I don't really pay attention to who's overlooking who, but if he's doing that, that's kind of rude and kind of a slap in the face to Glover and it's pretty disrespectful and if he is really doing that," says Hackleman. "If the fans are doing that then whatever, that's fans, but if Jon Jones is really doing that which I don't think he really is, then to me that's just disrespectful and rude and that's maybe why, you know, people don't love him like they did Chuck."

How to break a fat loss plateau

Very seldom does fat loss occur exact the same way week in and week out. Some times you lose a lot, other weeks nothing. It's important to know and acknowledge this or you'll get disappointed and discouraged. Fat loss plateaus are natural and the less you have left to lose, the harder your body will resist you and the more you'll need to learn to dance tango with your body instead of beating it up for not delivering the results you need. Don't try to outsmart your body by being stubborn: stubborn doesn't help in the long run! Who do you think has been through evolution and have all the tricks up his sleeve on how to survive?... You guessed right, mr BODY!

Don't Forget Me

This is the first official production under the banner of Texas TalEntertainment, a production company devoted to highlighting Texan-trained talent.  It will serve as a hybrid of working professionals and aspiring actors and crew with a history in the collegiate and UIL high school talent pools to act as a springboard for the next generation of filmmakers in the state.  This includes those from the past, present and future in order to encompass all ages and types.  Named in honor of Tal Lostracco, a high school and collegiate educator who served as a mentor to innumerable students, my hope is it will operate as a vital fuse in connecting the actors, whom teachers spent countless hours training, to the working world of film.  Presently, those students must start from scratch and might wait ten years before gaining such a useful, professional experience.  Texas TalEntertainment can change that.  Ultimately, I envision a rotating roster of writers, directors, actors, editors, cinematographers, and audio professionals contributing to the continuing education of those who want to learn these trades while making an outstanding film.

Matt Brown: Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler 'looked like they were just playing pattycake'

"I was a little bit surprised," Brown admitted. "Went from, what, Condit was No. 2? And I think Silva is No. 15 now. I don't think he was [ranked] before. That's definitely a huge drop. But, you know, main event. Erick is one of those guys that he could beat anybody in the top-10 any day, and I think pretty much everybody knows that. Any of the hardcore fans know how good he really is. He's had some bad luck fights, but man, everybody knows how good this kid is, so I don't think it was a drop in skill level. It's just a drop in the actual rankings."

Manager takes on peers over sponsorship market woes

It’s these opportunities MMA managers should be chasing, according to Fosco, rather than worrying about an impending UFC uniform deal. The manager believes many are stuck within a small ecosystem of MMA-friendly companies who’ve become very savvy about how and where they spend their dollars. Meanwhile, he said, new companies are not sticking around long enough to have an impact on the marketplace.

How does Cris Cyborg's Muay Thai loss affect her UFC future? Quite a bit

Why? How does that make any sense? It's simple. Cyborg is a prize fighter. Combat sports is her job. Splitting time between MMA for Invicta FC and Muay Thai for Lion Fight was already not going to pay her as much as the UFC would. Now, we've seen her get handled in Muay Thai by Baars, who is undefeated, but hasn't competed in the sport for three years. Her stock has dropped for a company that probably can't afford to pay her top dollar anyway.

Andy Shares His Inspirational 60-Pound Weight-Loss Story |

My health is at an all time best. A few years ago, it was at an all time low. I spent six years in the United States Marine Corps. Upon my discharge I had a series of misfortunate events happen in my life that sent me into a dark place in my life filled with self pity and eating lots of “comfort food.” I was fat, out of shape and depressed. I began listening to Joey Diaz’s “Church of What’s Happening Now.” Joey Diaz motivated me to quit feeling bad for myself. When you were on his show, you guys helped me make the decision to start The Dolce Diet. A few weeks later I ordered “Living Lean.” This was around May 2013. Once I started living the lifestyle, the weight started dropping really fast. I began jogging a few times a week. I could only run one lap before I had to stop due to the pain throughout my body and the inability to breath. A few months after that in August I got a gym membership at a commercial gym. I’ve been grinding it out ever since. This past Sunday, March 23rd, I ran a half-marathon in 151:44; placing 157th out of 900.

Nick Hein on journey from Judo to MMA: 'From the first minute, I was infected by it'

And I remember that I was in the hospital and my parents came in and they wanted to say, "Hello," and "How are you?" They wanted to give me a good feeling, that I'm... That, you know, we stick together and everything is okay. And right from the start I said, "I'm going to finish Judo. I'm going to quit that shit. I'm going to do MMA." And my parents went, like, "Oh no, now he's crazy." And yes, that was actually beginning, like half a year later I did my first fight. I still was in the Judo national team and I had to do it secretly. I couldn't make it official, because otherwise there would have been punishment. Because, they count on you, you have to be in good shape and stuff. So, I had to do it secretly and I did. I did my first fight and, yeah, I won. And from that day I knew, "This is it."

Moraes vs. Rettinghouse: Why we shouldn't sweep incompetence under the carpet

Even Moraes himself shouldn't be left out of this conversation. It seemed like he could have finished the fight whenever he wanted, but he didn't go in for the kill. I have respect for a guy that isn't out there do totally devastate his opponent when it's obvious he's hurt. But this isn't checkers, it's a cage fight. You have to have killer instinct, and he could have brought that beating to a close at a time of his choosing. Instead, he let it go the full 25.

From Highlight to Lowlight: An interview with UFC Fight Night 39's Andrew Craig

Andrew's upcoming fight takes place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, where the UFC has not been featured live since the infamous UFC 112 PPV card in 2010. When asked about his thoughts on his upcoming travels, Craig expressed concerns with the difficulties of competing abroad. Issues such as jet lag and dietary complications tend to bother fighters during the rigorous weight cut ahead of their fights, and Craig is no different.

34
Ali Abdel-Aziz: ‘Everybody just needs to shut the hell up and praise Rousimar Palhares as a champion’

The UFC's parting ways with him had more to do with rule subordination than it did ability. That’s what made the World Series of Fighting’s signing of "Toquinho" a month later that much more intriguing. How would he handle a second chance? Would any of the criticism register? Did he understand the criticism enough that, the next time he was torquing an ankle or knee and the referee tells him to stop, he’d actually stop? Heading into his promotional debut against welterweight champion Steve Carl on Saturday night at WSOF 9 in Las Vegas, all eyes were on Palhares. Not only did the Brazilian end up getting Carl with an inverted heel hook, but he wasted no time in securing it. The end came at 1:09 of the first round officially. And once again Palhares was the subject of scrutiny for how long he held the heel hook. First came the taps. Then came referee Yves Lavigne, who tugged his wrist once -- then twice -- before Palhares let go. It all lasted about one second, but Palhares’ reputation these days is divvied up into split seconds. And though many people thought Palhares held onto Carl’s leg a beat longer than was needed -- exactly at a time when everybody was fixated on it -- WSOF matchmaker/Vice President Ali Abdel-Aziz wasn’t one of them.

Bloody Elbow WMMA Top 15 Rankings: Atomweight, Strawweight, Flyweight & Bantamweight

How long a fighter can be inactive, but still ranked is subjective. For example, Sheila Gaff has made no news of returning to flyweight since her UFC release, and has not fought in that weight class since (2012). I removed her. On the other hand, Lisa Ellis hasn't fought since 2012 either, but she was pregnant, and she has stated she will be trying out for TUF, so I kept her in.

Why Eddie Bravo vs Royler Gracie II at Metamoris 3 is the Fight of the Year

Eddie Bravo vs. Royler Gracie was everything you could want in combat sports. It was two absolute masters of their craft going at it. It was incredibly dramatic, with dynamic back and forth reversals. It was 20 minutes long and flew by like it was 5. It came down to the wire, with Bravo working hard for a tap in the closing seconds. It was filled with backstory - 11 years of backstory. It was highly personal. It was a fight that meant something to both men, not because of a title, but because of their very legacies. It was contested in front of a rabid crowd filled with fans who passionately cared about the outcome.

Eddie Bravo: ‘Royce Gracie wants to kick my ass -- how cool is that?’

The long-awaited rematch between Royler Gracie and Eddie Bravo took place at Metamoris 3 on Saturday in Los Angeles, and -- perhaps fittingly -- it ended in a draw. The event piqued the interest of grappling aficionados -- as well as plenty of MMA fans -- from all over the globe a decade after Bravo scored a victory over Gracie in Abu Dhabi back in 2003. The draw wasn’t where things ended, though. Royce Gracie -- Royler’s brother, and the star of the early UFCs -- confronted Bravo backstage at the Pauley Pavilion about some old respect issues. The 10th Planet jiu-jitsu practitioner Bravo appeared on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour to talk about the incident. "[Royler and I] went 20 hard minutes, I was so emotional, my mom is there, I’m crying, and it was just crazy, and after it was all done I had to throw up," Bravo said. "It was like I had an Ayahuasca trip or something. So I’m throwing up on the side of the tent, and Jean-Jacques Machado is there and my film crew -- I have a documentary film crew following me around, and they were all there filming me throw-up -- and I hear this voice behind me.

41
Please, Royce Gracie, stop making it so hard to remember you fondly

Royce Gracie was important to MMA and to the UFC. If I’m being honest, he’s a big part of the reason I took up jiu-jitsu, which in turn was a big part of the reason I got interested in MMA. I know I’m not alone in that, either. Plenty of American kids had never even heard of Brazilian jiu-jitsu until Gracie showed up on the scene at the very first UFC. Once we saw what he could do to bigger, stronger opponents, we wanted to learn all about the art that made this possible.

Rampage Jackson on Tito Ortiz bout: 'A lot of people didn't like that fight'

"It just didn't look like the fans was into that fight on social media and stuff," Jackson said. You can't let haters stop you, but at the same time you hear it, you see it, I think the haters still would have tuned in just to see what would happen, but they were out there."
