Missy Elliott 'Ching-A-Ling' Step Up 2: The Streets

A new Missy Elliott music video, 'Ching-A-Ling' STEP UP 2 THE STREETS is the follow-up to the smash hit "Step Up," which ignited theaters in August 2006. When rebellious street dancer Andie (BRIANA EVIGAN) lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, she finds herself fighting to fit in while also trying to hold onto her old life. When she joins forces with the school's hottest dancer Chase (ROBERT HOFFMAN) to form a crew of classmate outcasts to compete in Baltimore's underground dance battle The Streets, she ultimately finds a way to live her dream while building a bridge between her two separate worlds. Featuring the directorial debut of award-winning up-and-comer Jon M. Chu, STEP UP 2 THE STREETS reunites much of the production team behind the original film including "Step Up's" cutting-edge hip-hop choreographer Jamal Sims, who is joined this time by choreographers Hi-Hat ("hip-hop's high diva of dance") and Dave Scott ("Stomp the Yard"). Patrick Wachsberger & Erik Feig of Summit Entertainment produce with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment.

Dan Hardy return to UFC action imminent?

Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy hasn’t been seen in the UFC Octagon since being diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome following a September 2012 win over Amir Sadalloh. The UFC initially encouraged him to retire but further tests have gone well and Hardy is now cleared for return. The UFC has said it expected to see him back at some point in 2015 and now some news from a Nottingham training room suggests that Hardy is gearing up for war in the not too distant future.

‘Minowaman’ vs. Oli Thompson Headlines All-Heavyweight Inoki Genome Fight 3 in Tokyo

Nineteen years into his MMA career, “Minowaman” just keeps going. | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Hundred-fight veteran Ikuhisa Minowa will square off against onetime UFC competitor Oli Thompson in the main event of Inoki Genome Fight 3 . Inoki Genome Federation this week revealed the final lineup and bout order for the Japanese organization’s latest MMA-centric event. The all-heavyweight show takes place April 11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan sumo hall in Tokyo, bolstered by an undercard of four pro-wrestling matches. The event will see the launch of the 2015 IGF World Grand Prix heavyweight tournament, of which Minowa-Thompson is a part. Both headliners will attempt to break out of a losing streak: “Minowaman” has been punched out twice in the past 10 months, while Thompson has dropped three in a row, most recently suffering a knockout loss to Brett McDermott in December. Rounding out the tournament’s opening round are three additional bouts featuring a range of international competitors: Bulgaria’s Emil Zahariev squares off against American “Huggy Bear” Chris Barnett , well-traveled French vet Antony Rea takes on Team Nogueira’s Fernando Rodrigues Jr.

This Month’s MMA Birthdays: ‘Tank’ Abbott Turns 50

David “Tank” Abbott turns 50 on April 26. | Photo: Jeff Sherwood/Sherdog.com Perhaps no one in mixed martial arts history has inspired trepidation quite like David “Tank” Abbott , who will celebrate his 50th birthday on April 26. Abbott debuted under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner in July 1995, scoring two of the most violent knockouts in the promotion’s history at UFC 6, first against John Matua and later against Paul Varelans . Though he lost the tournament final to Oleg Taktarov , his reputation had been established. Few men hit harder or with more ferocity. Ask Steve Nelmark , who was victimized in equally brutal fashion in 1996. Abbott competed in five UFC tournaments before exiting the organization in 2003, reaching the final in two of them and the semifinals in three others. His current record sits below .500 (10-15), but the Huntington Beach, Calif., remains a beloved figure among hardcore fans. “Tank” last competed at a King of the Cage event in April 2013, as he succumbed to second-round punches from Ruben Villareal .

Shlemenko’s Lawyer Cites ‘Unusual, Questionable Findings’ in Failed Bellator 133 Drug Test

Alexander Shlemenko denies the use of any banned substances, and looks forward to clearing his name at the next meeting of the California State Athletic Commission with his lawyer Howard Jacobs. His representatives have requested and are still awaiting the complete laboratory documentation package from the CSAC, given the extremely unusual and questionable findings that have been initially reported. The document request that has been made is consistent with the types of documents that the testing laboratory used in this case routinely provides -- without the necessity for such a request -- in cases involving the United States Anti-Doping Agency. It is impossible for Mr. Shlemenko to properly respond to these charges until he is provided with this basic documentation, and it is hoped that CSAC will not withhold such basic documentation.

WSOF 19 Medical Suspensions: Commission Advises Fighter to Retire Following KO Loss

Eric Regan was put down in violent fashion on Saturday. | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Eric Regan , a 40-fight pro who lost for the eighth time in nine bouts at WSOF 19 on Saturday, has been recommended to “stop competing” by the Arizona MMA and Boxing Commission following a second-round knockout loss to Matthew Frincu . The AMBC on Tuesday released medical suspensions from WSOF 19, which took place at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, to Sherdog.com. A longtime Rage in the Cage veteran, Regan was battered by Frincu in a lopsided opening stanza before a left high kick knocked the Arizonan out cold to end the welterweight contest 14 seconds into round two. It was the fourth loss via KO or TKO for Regan since his professional career began in 2006. WSOF 19 was headlined by a lightweight title contest between Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino . Gaethje retained his 155-pound strap via third-round TKO in a back-and-forth slugfest. The Grudge Training Center product received a 45-day suspension for injuries to his right eyebrow and right foot and must have X-rays before being cleared to compete.

Sherdog Prospect Watch: 10 Upside Picks - Superstar Potential

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is signing fighters left, right and center these days, and most of them will never come close to competing for a title. This installment of the Sherdog Prospect Watch series focuses on 10 fighters who do have that kind of potential. While scouting prospects is not exactly a science in any sport -- hello, Darko Milicic and JaMarcus Russell -- neither is it a total crapshoot. In mixed martial arts, the most important factors when looking at future success are fairly straightforward: • Almost all future champions and contenders started fighting before the age of 26. There are exceptions, but they are either freakish athletes or possess a world-class skill set -- Olympic wrestling, for example -- and have spent their entire careers at a high-level camp. • Athleticism and physical tools matter. Skills can improve dramatically given time and training, but physicality can only be honed so much. Nobody who has won a UFC title in the last few years has been anything less than a plus athlete, and most of them have been true phenoms.

'Excited' Chad Mendes predicts Jose Aldo over Conor McGregor at UFC 189

“In my opinion, breaking down the fight, I see Aldo winning the fight,” Mendes told MMAjunkie. “I could see McGregor giving Aldo some issues. Aldo has had some issues with southpaws in the past, but he always seems to figure them out. One thing Conor does really good is using his range. He’s very lengthy and he punches well and keeps on the outside. That could be a problem for Aldo. But, McGregor keeps his stance very wide. Aldo has some of the best, or the best leg kicks in the sport. He’s going to eat that leg up if McGregor doesn’t check his kicks.

Glory 20 fight preview and prediction: Mourad Bouzidi vs. Dustin Jacoby

For his part, Jacoby has been improving his technical game considerably during his time in Glory, showing real progress in every fight. But perhaps his best chance here is to let go of those improving technical skills and try to outbrawl the hittable Bouzidi. However, to do so, he'll have to overcome some significant deficits. Bouzidi is the faster fighter, and particularly at Heavyweight, I expect Jacoby to not come in at his peak physicality. Jacoby has a bad tendency to leave his jabs out there, opening himself up for shots, and particularly against a faster striker, that's a bad thing. He's also struggled against the more aggressive fighter - Pereira just ran him over at Glory 14, and Bouzidi, while not the same KO kind of striker, has the speed and combos to do the same.

Rafael dos Anjos better watch out, because Conor McGregor says: 'I'll come and get you'

"We will take Aldo and we will take dos Anjos, without a problem," McGregor said during a media lunch. "The featherweights must beg now. They must beg for pardon, beg for forgiveness. If that's the case, if they apologize and beg, I'll leave the division. I won't terrorize them anymore. They can have their division back. They can go back to being on the prelims and I'll go to the lightweight division."
