Vitor Belfort Would Gladly Reconsider Retirement for a Large Payday

Vitor Belfort has been one of the most feared fighters throughout his career, using devastating power coupled with ridiculous hand speed to run roughshod over his opponents. However, in the eyes of many, his career has been overshadowed by his well-publicized use of Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Belfort, who has amassed 40 professional fights in his career, (26-13 & 1 NC) made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship back at UFC 12 in February 1997, fighting the likes of David Abbott , Randy Couture and Wanderlei Silva in his early days. He even took a catchweight (210) bout with Alistair Overeem back in 2006. However in the past few years, “The Phenom” has been much less effective inside the Octagon and has decided to hang up his four ounce gloves with one last fight against former UFC lightweight champion Lyoto Machida on May 12 at UFC 224 . However, it seems that the Brazilian could be lured back if offered a large financial package. Belfort recently talked to on what it would take to keep him employed on the UFC roster.

5 Things You Might Not Know About Alexander Gustafsson

Alexander Gustafsson was a well-respected contender when he challenged Jon Jones for the Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title at UFC 165 on Sept. 21, 2013 in Toronto. Although he lost a unanimous decision to “Bones,” Gustafsson entered a new competitive tax bracket by giving Jones all he could handle across five rounds. “The Mauler” remains one of the sport’s premier fighters at 205 pounds despite being shelved by a shoulder injury that required surgery. When he returns, Gustafsson figures to position himself for a rematch with reigning light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier , who defeated him by split decision two-plus years ago. Until then, here are five things you might not know about the Swede: 1. He took up boxing at an early age. Gustafsson was a boxer before he turned to mixed martial arts, starting at the age of 10. He won the Swedish national youth light heavyweight championship in 2003 and three amateur tournaments over a two-year period (2008-09). Gustafsson also partook in shoot-fighting -- a martial art that mixes muay Thai and catch wrestling -- and compiled a 5-1 record with four knockouts.

Adam Borics Gets New Opponent, Now Faces Teodor Nikolov at Bellator 196 in Hungary

Adam Borics will still get the chance to extend his undefeated record in his home country at Bellator 196 . On Thursday, Bellator MMA officials announced that Borics would still be a part of the Bellator 196 bill, as the promotion officially announce the Hungarian’s third opponent for the card. Borics will now face Teodor Nikolov in a featherweight contest at the event, which takes place on April 6 at Bok Hall in Budapest, Hungary. The card airs on same-day tape delay on the Paramount Network. Borics, 24, has racked up a 10-0 pro MMA mark in less than four years as a pro and made his Bellator debut at the promotion’s last Hungarian card, Bellator 177, choking out Anthony Taylor in the first round last April. Borics was initially slated to headline Bellator 196 against fellow unbeaten James Gallagher , who eventually pulled out due to a hand injury. After the Irishman’s removal, the promotion announced a lightweight bout between former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Roger Huerta , which bumped “The Kid” from the main event to co-headliner.

Darren Till Expects Stephen Thompson to Be the ‘Most Interesting Fight of My Life’

Darren Till vs. Stephen Thompson recently became official for UFC Fight Night 130 in Liverpool, and Till already has some very specific stakes in mind for the matchup. “I think it’s gonna be the most interesting fight of my life, just because of his fight IQ and my own,” Till said on the “Obviously Fight Talk” podcast. “So let’s see who wins. Let’s see who is the best striker in the division. Now it’s time to see.” Till improve to 16-0-1 as a professional with a first-round technical knockout of Donald Cerrone in his most recent appearance at UFC Fight Night 118 this past October. The Liverpool native is unbeaten in five Octagon appearances, with a draw against Nicolas Dalby in October 2015 the only blemish on his ledger thus far. The 25-year-old welterweight doesn’t agree with the notion that it might be too soon for him to take on an opponent as experienced as Thompson, who twice challenged Tyron Woodley for welterweight gold. “In terms of earliness, striking-wise I don’t think it’s too early because of been striking all my life and so has he,” Till said.

Brock Lesnar's Advocate Insists UFC Return Isn't a Tease |

And for those saying it is simply a negotiating ploy, Heyman offers Lesnar’s appearance at UFC 200 as proof that he could remain under the WWE banner and fight in the Octagon simultaneously, leaving numerous options on the table for consideration. Lesnar appeared at UFC 200 while still under contract with WWE. In fact, an agreement was reached between the two juggernauts of their respective industries which included cross-promoting, something which could easily be considered if the two promoters opt to work together again.

Bellator 196's Roger Huerta fighting for better contract with one-bout deal

After Huerta’s contract with ONE Championship expired, he called Bellator President Scott Coker to see if there was interest in a new deal. UFC Fight Night 130 Grows Again with Claudio Henrique da Silva-Nordine Taleb Addition

Day by day, the UFC’s debut in Liverpool continues to grow. UFC Fight Night 130 has gained yet another welterweight bout, as Claudio Henrique da Silva and Nordine Taleb . The promotion confirmed the bout on Thursday night. The event is scheduled for May 27 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, headlined by a welterweight main event between undefeated Scouser Darren Till and two-time UFC title challenger Stephen Thompson . Da Silva, 35, has fought just twice under UFC employ over the last four years, due to a siege of injuries. In his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 37, “Hannibal” took a unanimous verdict over Bradley Scott , then returned eight months later to take a nip-tuck split decision over now-top contender Leon Edwards . Since the Edwards victory, da Silva has had previous bouts with Taleb as well as Siyar Bahadurzada canceled due to injury. The 36-year-old Taleb, on the other hand, has won three of his last four. Outside of his February 2017 unanimous decision loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio , the Tristar MMA rep has racked up wins over Erick Silva , Oliver Enkamp and most recently, icing Brit Danny Roberts with a head kick in a mere 59 seconds at UFC on Fox 26 last December.

Her debut was a success, because Eye defeated Kalindra Faria by split decision at UFC Fight Night 124.

The Hit List: Olympic Medalists Who Have Competed in MMA

Mixed martial arts has long been a popular avenue for Olympic medalist to continue their competitive careers, with wrestlers, boxers and judo players all making the transition over the last 25 years. Ronda Rousey serves as one of the best-known examples, as she captured bronze in judo at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing before turning her attention to MMA. She won her first 12 fights, all of them finishes, and laid claim to titles in Strikeforce and the Ultimate Fighting Championship . In the process, Rousey became one of the sport’s most bankable stars and a trailblazer for women in what had once been a male-dominated pursuit. Though she currently calls World Wrestling Entertainment home, Rousey belongs to a long list of Olympic medalists who have crossed over to MMA: Ronda Rousey MMA Record: 12-2 Olympic Sport: Judo Olympic Year(s): 2008 Medal(s): Bronze *** Kevin Jackson MMA Record: 4-2 Olympic Sport: Freestyle Wrestling Olympic Year(s): 1992 Medal(s): Gold *** Hen

Wait – Joe Riggs fights Friday and has six straight knockout wins?

Riggs was in the UFC as recently as 2016, but a 1-3 run saw him cut from the organization. However, he hasn’t lost since. And the six-fight winning streak stands as the second-longest of his career, falling behind only an eight-fight streak he had in 2004 (as in, all eight of those wins came in the same calendar year).

The 15 worst fouls in MMA history, including Alistair Overeem, Jose Aldo and Anderson Silva

Viacheslav Datsik is no fan of rules, in or out of the cage. He’s been disqualified on multiple occasions for offenses such as grabbing his opponent’s testicles and for gouging an opponent’s eyes. He’s also been known to attack referees, and once was declared the loser of a bout because he wouldn’t stop showboating by pretending to be hurt after purposely taking punches from a much smaller opponent. Datsik became so enraged by that loss that he punched the referee, who quickly fought back, leading to a melee that spilled out of the ring. Datsik has also been arrested on numerous occasions, at one point posing as a crusading vigilante in his native Russia.

Conor who? Tony Ferguson wants a fight with Georges St-Pierre, not McGregor

“If you have to hype it up, and you want to come back because that’s the sport and the athlete in you – the guy that I met at Paradigm Sports when I shook his hand and I said, ‘You better stay at 145 because at ’55, we’re going to have problems,’ he’s nowhere to be found. Straight up. So, if he wants to come back, that’s great. But my concern is not him – it’s the next person in line.”
