Andrew Craig-Chris Camozzi Pulled from UFC Fight Night 40 Due to Illness
Tonsillitis has reportedly forced Andrew Craig to withdraw from
UFC Fight Night 41. | Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com
A planned middleweight clash between Andrew
Craig and Chris
Camozzi has been pulled from the
UFC Fight Night 40 card at the eleventh hour.
Craig on Thursday announced his withdrawal via social media,
reportedly as a result of tonsillitis, according to Fighters
“[This is the first] time I've ever had to pull [out] from a fight
and it doesn't feel too good,” Craig wrote on Twitter. “Sorry to
the fans, the UFC and Chris
Camozzi . Huge thanks to the UFC for taking such good care of
me. [I] hope to get this fight rescheduled stateside!”
Craig, 28, rattled off eight straight victories to begin his
career, posting back-to-back wins over Kyle Noke and
Natal to begin his UFC run before losing two of his next three.
“Highlight” most recently competed last October, when he was
submitted by British talent Luke
Barnatt at UFC Fight Night 30.
Camozzi, 27, earned four consecutive Octagon victories from January
2012 to March 2013 but has since lost back-to-back bouts, first
submitting to a Ronaldo
Souza arm-triangle choke before dropping a unanimous decision
Larkin last November at UFC Fight Night 31.

discuss his opponent and more.
On Tim Kennedy: “I’ve never met the guy and I have
no problem with him. He could be the nicest guy in the world. As
I’ve said, I’ve never even laid eyes on the guy. I’ve never even
seen him, never met him. The problem all starts from him just
attacking me, just attacking me on Twitter and things like that and
calling me out, which is fine. We’re in the same weight class, so
he’s entitled to call me out, but he got very personal over the
year and he continues to do it. So obviously, based on those facts,
he’s not going to be at the top of my Christmas card list. There’s
no love lost between us. I wouldn’t say there’s a feud. He’s
created some bad blood and there’s a score to settle on the fight
Zak Cummings meets Yan Cabral at UFC Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati
Cummings will be looking to get back in the promotion’s good graces after a weigh-in misstep in March in Macau. Cummings was slated to meet Alberto Mina at that event, but he came in eight pounds over the welterweight limit and his fight was scrapped when Mina wouldn’t agree to a catchweight fight. The “TUF 17″ cast member won his official UFC debut this past August when he tapped out Ben Alloway at UFC Fight Night 27 in Indianapolis for a “Submission of the Night” bonus.
MMA Injuries: Why doesn't the ACL heal on its own?
Dodson's partial ACL tear offers us the chance to examine why the ACL cannot heal when it is completely torn. The MCL is considered an extra-articular ligament, meaning that it lies outside of the knee joint. The ACL is an intra-articular ligament. Unlike the ACL, the MCL heals quite well with a period of rest, possibly a brief period of bracing, and a rehab program to rebuild and maintain muscle strength. When the MCL is torn, a blood clot will form at the wound site. The clot serves as a provisional scaffold upon which the body will build a "bridge" of new collagen tissue that ultimately fills in the tear, thus healing the ligament. This blood clot formation does not occur when the ACL is torn. Since the ACL is located within the knee joint, it is exposed to a continual flow of synovial fluid. When the ACL is torn, the flow of synovial fluid prevents formation of the clot. The blood is dispersed within the knee joint, and the scaffold does not form. The lack of a scaffold also deprives the torn ligament of important proteins and other blood-borne substances needed for proper healing.

Kajan Johnson vs. Tae Hyun Bang booked for UFC 174 in Vancouver
Bang, a Korean Top Team fighter, is a 10-year pro who made his promotional debut in January at UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore. Tim Means replaces William Macario, meets Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night 40
He now meets Means, who was cut after a 2-2 UFC stint in 2013, which included decision losses to lightweights Jorge Masvidal and Danny Castillo (the latter of which saw Means badly miss weight). However, the 30-year-old former KOTC champ regrouped as a welterweight with Legacy FC, where he scored knockout wins over notables Pete Spratt and Artenas Young. He now has 15 knockouts in 20 career wins.

The 2015 Ford Bronco - Gear Heads
So word from our Ford insider is that the 2015 Bronco concept is getting some interest from the corporate brass and from what we are told we really like what we are hearing. First off the Bronco will be based on the F-150 chassis and will only come in the shared 4WD system of the F-150. In fact it seems that the Bronco will share many parts with the Ford F-150 therefore cutting cost for development. The engine choices for the 2015 Ford Bronco that are being mulled over that certainly caught our attention is the 3.5L Ecoboost, 5.0L and the 4.5L Diesel engine options. No word on the specifics but it could possibly mean an SVT edition that uses the 5.0L and possibly some FOX shocks like the Ford Raptor. Sweet! Expect to see a 2Dr and 4Dr version of this 2015 Bronco.
10 Things To Give Up In Exchange For Happiness
1. Give up caring what other people think of you. I know it seems counter intuitive as we humans are primal pack animals that don't want to be cast from the village, but spending time worrying what others think, is a waste of energy. You'll never please everyone and it's none of your business what others think of you.

Your reality is actually 15 seconds long
To figure out how humans form their reality, the study's researchers devised an experiment in which they asked people to recall the orientation of short flashes of lines, called Garbor patches, on a computer screen. These series of flashes — the lines appeared once every five seconds — allowed the researchers to determine that although the most recent patch was the easiest to recall, the angle the participants remembered was usually slightly off, and tilted in the direction of the previous two. This, the researchers say, indicates that participants' reality was influenced by the previous two flashes, as well as the most recent one. They therefore concluded that each instant is actually a combination of the last 15 seconds of our lives.

Report: Colin Kaepernick investigated for alleged sexual assault
As a Seahawks fans that can’t stand Kaperchoke I still won’t pass judgement until all the facts are out. I will judge Jim Harbaugh though. What an arrogant tool he’s turned out to be. Throwing stones at the Seahawks and saying his team is “beyond reproach” . You have to have the arrogance of Harbaugh to not realize he has 53 young dudes with money and eventually it’s going to happen to his sorry roster. Now you have Culliver hitting a cyclist and fleeing the scene and although I won’t judge Kaperchoke. Being investigated for sexual assault isn’t beyond reproach.

Ancient Asteroid Boiled Oceans, Burned the Sky, and Shook Earth for a Half-Hour | Science | WIRED
Though we have heard about ancient impacts such as the dinosaur-killing asteroid that hit our planet 65 million years ago, the image above really gives a sense of perspective for these events. To have looked up in the sky and seen a space rock that dwarfed any mountain on Earth would have been chilling. The gigantic object was about 30 miles wide, roughly the width of Rhode Island. It struck an area of what is now South Africa, generating a crater that would have stretched halfway across that country. The energy it released boiled the top layer of the ocean and sent tsunamis hundreds of feet high through the remaining waters.
UFC Fight Night: Abu Dhabi staff picks and predictions
Patrick Wyman : Let me be clear (he said in his best Obama voice): I don't think Roy Nelson is actually good, and I'll continue to make that argument from here until eternity. He has a big right hand, and that's all he has going for him. If anything, he's actively regressed skill-wise: for all the talk about his boulder-like top game, he's used it exactly once in his actual UFC career, against the reanimated corpse of Mirko Cro Cop, and the rest has been spamming an overhand right. He's also aging at an exaggerated pace due to his weight, conditioning, and the absolutely insane pace at which he's taking damage. Nogueira's a shell of his former self physically, but he still has the head movement at range, underrated clinch game, and wrestling to take this. Nogueira, unanimous decision.

No Shortage of Ambition for The Crusher
A rite of passage for any fighter entering the UFC after an illustrious career outside the Octagon is finding out that to casual fans, there is the UFC and nothing else. Of course the hardcore followers of the sport know who you are, but to many, your first UFC fight is your first MMA fight. In some ways, that’s okay, simply because a clean slate is a good thing. But in others, your reputation as a world-class competitor hinges on that UFC debut and not just picking up a win, but impressive one. Japan’s Tatsuya Kawajiri passed his tests in January, submitting Sean Soriano in the second round. “The Crusher” had arrived. “Sean was a very good fighter but I am happy that I was able to show to the world that I belong in the top league of MMA, which is the UFC,” said Kawajiri through manager / translator Shu Hirata. The 35-year-old Kawajiri has always been top-notch, whether competing in PRIDE, Dream, or Shooto in his home country of Japan. But while he made his name as a lightweight standout, it’s been at 145 pounds that he’s had his recent resurgence, winning five straight at featherweight.
Carlos López busted with meth pipe in his butt
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 9 (UPI) -- The former purchasing director of a Florida city panicked while he was being pulled over in downtown Fort Lauderdale in December and stashed a glass methamphetamine pipe in the only place he could think of -- his rectum. Carlos López, who was working for the city of Hialeah at the time, was arrested Dec. 29 on drug charges and taken to a hospital to have the pipe removed. “López appeared visually shaken and sweating. López’s face was flushed from an apparent rise in body temperature and pupils were dilated,” according to the arrest report. “As López searched for his license I observed involuntary muscle spasms in López’s face as well as slurred repetitive speech. These symptoms are consistent with being under the influence of methamphetamine.” In the report, an officer identified as R. Goderstad noted that after a metal container with methamphetamine was found, he observed that López had his pants unbuttoned. A canine officer who was on the scene “began speaking with López at which time López admitted to have a methamphetamine glass pipe inside his anal cavity.

Welcome to the UFC Ray Borg
This is where the tough part comes in. Not just because I haven't seen much footage of him fighting, but because Borg doesn't have a lot of experience, certainly not to the level that his opponent Dustin Ortiz does. Ortiz isn't a dynamo on his feet, but he's not bad either. He's a great athlete, has a strong chin, and uses his exceptional cardio to wear on fighters over three rounds. He's shown himself to be a rock solid wrestler and while he may not be much of a submission grappler, if Borg's defensive wrestling and grappling aren't great, Ortiz could easily grind out a win. Given the caliber of opponent and the short camp Borg has to work with, I'd say it's unlikely that he'll win this fight, but he should give a good account of himself.

TUF Nations Finale card finalized, all-Canadian match-ups in both tournament finals
We now have a full lineup of 13 fights set for the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, Canada. The Fox Sports 1 card features a main event between middleweights Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy , the TUF Nations coaches fight of Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke (at welterweight), and the two TUF tournament finals. This international edition of TUF was pegged as Canada vs. Australia, and it was a blowout for Canada, who make up all 4 of the finalists as of the results from Wednesday night's episode. Sheldon Westcott cemented his place in the WW final with the rare Von Flue Choke stoppage against Vik Grujic. Elias Thoroudou will be Wescott's opponent after his decision win vs. Tyler Manawaroa. Chad Leprise's stunning KO of Kajan Johnson earned him a MW finals spot opposite Olivier Aubin-Mercier, who stopped Richard Walsh with a 1st round submission.
Twitter Mailbag: Fowlkes on the Brothers Diaz, Gina Carano, Jake Shields and more
Then again, from a “brand marketing” perspective, it’s entirely possible that Shields could become just one more UFC refugee washing up on the WSOF shores. He won’t really stand out there. Not the way he might with Bellator or even ONE FC, where at least he could get his grapple on against Askren. Trouble with that is, if Bellator was into guys like Shields it probably wouldn’t have let Askren walk in the first place (speaking of promoters reshaping the landscape of the sport), and even if he beat Askren in ONE FC, then what? The process of elimination leaves us with WSOF, I suppose. That is, assuming it’s financially willing and able to support one more UFC castoff, which is another concern entirely.

Randy Couture speaks out on NSAC’s TRT ban, says the UFC supported it because they ‘didn’t want to be implicated’
He stuck to his guns, he knew where he needed to be and he found a way to win and I think that was Dana poking at me, trying to get back at me for signing a deal with Spike and again trying to villainies me, not allowing me to corner my son, to be involved with my son when he made the transition to the biggest fight of his life; and I think that showed after the Pearson fight his confidence was in the toilet, and that second kid, he was more than capable of beating, but I think coming off the Pearson fight it was tough fight for him. It didn't go well, and again, I wasn't allowed to be there to do the things that I've been doing for him in every other fight that he had up to that point and that all falls on Dana's shoulders."
