Robbie Peralta-Rony ‘Jason,’ Pedro Munhoz-Matt Hobar Added to ‘TUF: Brazil 3’ Finale

Rony ‘Jason’ is 4-1 inside the Octagon. | Two new bouts are now official for the UFC’s next visit to Brazil, including a featherweight confrontation between Robbie Peralta and Rony Bezerra . Formerly known as UFC Fight Night “Dos Santos vs. Miocic,” the May 31 event is now being referred to as “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3” finale . Broadcast plans have not yet been announced for the card, which is headlined by a titular heavyweight collision between ex-champion Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic . The show will also feature a preliminary bantamweight pairing pitting Pedro Munhoz against Matt Hobar . Peralta has won 10 of his last 12 bouts. “Problems” last competed on Dec. 28, when he scored a third-round technical knockout over Estevan Payan at UFC 168. Bezerra has won nine of his last 10 outings, posting a 4-1 Octagon record in his last five. After suffering a 40-second knockout at the hands of Jeremy Stephens last October, “Jason” rebounded last month, stopping Steven Siler in just 1:17 at UFC Fight Night 39.

Fighter Diet Pak (Fitness)

Hi Pauline, My name is Annie and I bought the newbie pack about 5 weeks ago and have been very disciplined about the whole thing!   As I said I’m lucky cause I LOVE veggies!  And love how I feel when I eat lots of them!  I have type 1 diabetes so at first I was a little nervous about how my body would react and to what extent I would have to change my insulin doses!  It has gone very well!!!   I have a good appetite and though I was never overweight, I wanted to get lean!  Well, fighter diet is working!!!!   In the 5 weeks I’ve lost about 9 lbs of fat and gained 3 lbs of muscle!  And this is despite the fact that I don’t do nearly as much cardio as you recommend, simply cause I lack the time.  I work part time and have a handicapped child which requires a lot of my time and

Joe Rogan and friends

Joe Rogan: “One of the most complex and exciting stand-ups working in America today.  Like an idealistic hippy stuck inside the body of a testosterone-pumped US marine.  He’s been likened to late great US comedians such as Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison, but although he exhibits a similar brand of furious indignation, his observations and revelations are entirely his own.  His angry, insightful act is an absorbing battle between his raw libertarian instincts and his refined liberal sensibilities.”  --William Cook, The Guardian   A standup comedian for more than 20 years, Joe Rogan sells out theaters internationally with his inquisitive and intense comedic style.  His third hour comedy special “Joe Rogan: Live from the Tabernacle” was released in December 2012 via his website.  Rogan previously starred in two hour long specials, “Talking Monkeys in Space” (2009) now available on CD & DVD and “Joe Rogan Live” (2007) now available on DVD, and released the CD’s “Shiny Happy Jihad” (2007) and “I’m Gonna Be Dead Someday” (2000).

TUF Nations Finale Warm-Up: Sarah Kaufman vs. Leslie Smith's First Full Fight Video |

Sarah Kaufman and Leslie Smith are slated to rematch at the TUF Nations Finale on Wednesday in Quebec, but take a look back at their first throwdown, courtesy of Invicta FC.

There have already been countless articles scorning the coaches, the referee and the cageside physicians who allowed Junior Maranhao to continue fighting. There have also been just as many articles scorning the Wyoming State Board of MMA for encouraging the exact things that athletic commissions are supposed to protect our sport from . But lost in our collective outrage is perhaps the biggest tragedy to come from this incident: that Junior Maranhao is still willfully ignorant to the fact that he was in any danger at all during RFA 14. In fact, Maranhao has gone as far as to defend the very people who failed him that night.

Karo Parisyan: I Wanted to Make a Statement Against Ron Keslar

Karo Parisyan scored his third win in four fights when he stopped Ron Keslar on Friday at Bellator 116 . Coming off the victory, he joined the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show to discuss his performance and more. On being healthy: “I’ve been healthy for about six months to eight months, very healthy. I keep myself mentally prepared, physically and in every way possible. I’m not going to get into details right now, but that being said, I had to train for the fight. I felt good. I felt like my cojones were there, like always. In shape, out of shape, I always come out to fight wherever the fight goes.” On flicking blood at Keslar: “I always show my respect, but I remember that when I was bleeding through my nose, I didn’t like this guy that much. He thought he was a big shot. I was like, ‘You asswipe. Do you know who you’re fighting?’ I remember when I was bleeding through the nose, I kind of picked up the blood and I flicked it on him. I did the same with Diego Sanchez . I spit my blood on Diego. That’s, in a way, in my mentality, I was like, ‘I’m going to throw my blood on you and I’m not done.

Though he's not invisible (and can't fly), Tyron Woodley can clean up title picture

At UFC 161 Jake Shields fought -- and beat -- Tyron Woodley via split decision, which just might be the greatest smoke and mirrors trick ever pulled. That’s because ten months later, Shields is unceremoniously out of the UFC and Woodley, ever-campaigning to begin his championship reign, is getting set to fight Rory MacDonald in a title eliminator at UFC 174 in Vancouver. If current welterweight champion Johny Hendricks wasn’t on the shelf after bicep surgery, Woodley might have already been booked to fight for the welterweight belt. How’s that for an Etch-a-Sketch division? Shields, 1-1 since beating Woodley, is out while Woodley, 2-0 since losing to Shields, is groomed for a title shot. It’s a reality that fighters grapple with (while smart ones choose to stand and bang): In the UFC there’s no promise of tomorrow, and yesterday, depending on the slant, may or may not matter. Not that the one-time standout University of Missouri wrestler is complaining about the careening nature of things. Woodley knocked out Josh Koscheck in his rebound fight and was having his way against Carlos Condit at UFC 171 before a knee injury forced Condit out.

Morning Report: Jon Jones says 'delusional' Alexander Gustafsson needs to 'close his mouth and go back to the drawing board' before a rematch

"I find it funny, because Gustafsson lost the fight fair and square. I will admit he won Round 1 and Round 3, but that's it. I won the fight. I've never heard someone chirp so much who lost. I could see if I poked him in the eye and the fight had to be stopped or I caught him with a big punch while he was winning and it was a fluke or something. But it was nothing like that."

Despite recent loss, 'TUF' vet George Roop plans to call out Cruz or Caceres

“I do throw push kicks and I do throw jabs, and when you hear people say, ‘He needs to just jab, jab, jab,’ could I just jab for 15 minutes? Hell yeah, I could jab for 15 minutes,” he said. “I could do anything for 15 minutes. I could hold my breath for 15 minutes. But the thing is, if I were to just throw a jab and throw a push kick, people catch on to that. They get your timing down, and that’s when you’re are more susceptible. MMA is controlled chaos.”

TUF Nations Finale’s Richard Walsh: I want to be face of MMA in Australia

“That’s what Canada has over us. They got some superstars like Patrick Cote, Georges St-Pierre and Rory MacDonald – guys who can all handle themselves well and speak well and are good with PR. They’re awesome fighters, and that’s why the sport has developed so much here in the past eight years. We don’t have those guys, and Australian MMA has subsequently dropped off a little bit. For me, I want to see some good guys from the sport, and I think the UFC wants to see some good guys take Australian MMA to the next level.”

Georges St-Pierre helped inspire 'TUF Nations' Canadian tourney finalists

“We were lucky to have some of the innovators of this sport from Canada,” Westcott said. “You look at every one of the guys on the show, and they’re all the cream of the crop. Their skillset compared to the rest of the world is insane. You see some of these guys from countries coming up who are remedial at some of their techniques. But some of [the Canadian] guys are so advanced, and it really showed on this season.”

Leslie Smith, with a nod from the cosmos, happy for rematch with Sarah Kaufman

The marvel of Amanda Nunes having the pluck to take a fight against Sarah Kaufman on a dozen day’s notice is only trumped by Leslie Smith ’s decision to replace the injured Nunes four days later. It’s all been a whirlwind. Last Monday, Kaufman was still on schedule to meet Shayna Baszler at The Ultimate Fighter Nations card in Quebec City on April 16. Then began the carousel of faces. Baszler got injured and became Nunes, then Nunes fell out and became Smith, all in less than a week. Now Smith, who last fought in the Invicta FC cage as a flyweight against Barb Honchak in December, gets to make her UFC debut on eight days' notice. That might not seem ideal (or even reasonable) by ordinary standards, but the California native is thrilled get a redo against the Canadian Kaufman, whom she fought a year ago at this time in what was one of the more memorable bouts of 2013. And for as action-filled as that fight was, Smith concedes that she was holding herself back. "The first time that I fought Sarah I thought that she was really going to take advantage of the fact that I come charging in," Smith told MMA Fighting.

Twishort / vitorbelfort: Martial arts entered my life to …

Martial arts entered my life to signify discipline and respect and this happened when I began to practice judo at the age of 8. Today I see the responsibility carried by my "sport heroes" as I grew up because they influenced my career, and because of that I've always felt the obligation to give back by being an athlete that represents the sport with the same discipline and respect that I was taught when I began almost 30 years ago. The fight between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen on TUF Brasil embarrassed me. First of all because MMA is not a brawl, it's a fight between two prepared people inside of an octagon. And that is what I do, I dont brawl, I fight. Second of all, there's no room in a sport like MMA to accept this kind of behavior when the sport itself has clear rules for unsportsmanlike conduct both inside and outside of the octagon. Third and most important, MMA should never influence behaviors where a discussion ends up in aggression as if that is an adequate standard. Millions of young men and women suffer violence on a regular basis, and television should not promote this kind of behavior as something acceptable, and athletes should resent any violent attitude regardless of any provocation.

TUF Nations Finale: Tim Kennedy - 'Michael Bisping, if you're not 100% healthy, don't get in the cage with me'

The scary part is that I hit hard. Ask everybody here on my team. I hit hard from everywhere; from on the ground, I hit hard on the feet. If the dude is gonna stand and trade with me, I'm gonna hit him. The docs have cleared him to get in the cage with me, so I pray to God that he's 100% healthy, because I'm going to hit him hard. I hit hard enough to hurt healthy people. Michael Bisping, if you're not 100% healthy, don't get in the cage with me.

Karate, chess helped TUF Nation Finale’s Ryan Jimmo after leaving Blackzilians team

Changing training camps was just the tip of the iceberg for Jimmo (18-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) as he prepares for his Wednesday collision with Sean O’Connell (15-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at the TUF Nations Finale at Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It’s one of nine bouts airing on FOX Sport 1 following four prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

TUF Brazil 3 Finale gets new name, adds Jason-Peralta, Brandao-Ortega, Hobar-Munhoz

Jason (14-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC), the winner of first season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil,” returns quickly to action after scoring a 77-second TKO win over Steven Siler in March. The result served as a pleasant rebound from a disappointing 40-second loss to Jeremy Stephens this past November. He meets Peralta (17-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC), who fought most recently in December, when he earned a third-round knockout over Estevan Payan at UFC 168.

Bloody Elbow Roundtable: The future of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

From the outside looking in, I hate to see Nog go but I also hate to see him taking severe punishment, especially because much of his legacy is built upon being pile-drived head-first into the canvas by Sapp, booted around the ring like an empty tin can by CroCop, or wearing a cartoonish "Did I leave the iron on?" look after being head-kicked by Herring -- and then coming back to win each of those fights. It's refreshing to hear so many before me take the stance that it's not our place to decide or opine on such a personal topic, but I guess my point is that we wouldn't be talking about whether Nog should retire if we weren't genuinely concerned for the guy. I believe that's because he's made a strong, positive impact on all of us, and on the sport itself too, and we all just want what's best for him, whatever that may be.

In addition to these two interviews, Brad Tavares also stops by the show in addition to a full slate of debate topics breaking down both the TUF Nations Finale and the FOX UFC Saturday card, while also discussing the fallout from the brawl that occurred on the TUF Brazil 3 set between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva .

“I want our sport to be a clean sport. I want athletes to have pride and hard work and that’s why I thought I would put my money where my mouth is and get the test for myself. I have no right to accuse [Teixeira] of being on anything,” Jones said. “I know when people get chances to fight for world titles maybe they’ll do anything to get an edge, and I think the only edge you should have is work ethic so I thought we should both get tested.”

Fact Check: Bellator 117

Rick Hawn has won 10 of his 12 fights since joining Bellator. | Photo: Keith Mills/ The departure of former Bellator MMA welterweight champion Ben Askren opened the door for fighters like Douglas Lima and Rick Hawn . Lima will meet Hawn for the vacant 170-pound crown in the Bellator 117 main event on Friday at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The winner of the five-round clash will replace Askren atop Bellator’s welterweight heap, the man they call “Funky” having been lured away by the Singapore-based One Fighting Championship promotion. Hawn will carry a four-fight winning streak into the match. The 37-year-old judoka last fought at Bellator 109 in November, when he knocked out American Kickboxing Academy representative Ron Keslar in the third round of their Season 9 welterweight tournament final at the Sands Casino Event Center in Bethlehem, Pa. A four-time national judo champion who placed ninth at the 2004 Summer Olympics, Hawn has secured 11 of his 18 career victories by knockout or technical knockout.
