Shawn & The Men's Guide
"I have always been involved in martial arts and mma but after years of striking and grappling my body was paying the price and i ended up with severe back pain that ended both my career and my desire to work out. Unfortunately by age 48 everything went down hill; I packed on the weight and became more discouraged than ever. Then I found the fighter diet. Everything I read made perfect sence and the author Pauline Nordin's insight into rational diet and exercise changed my life! I shed 30 pounds of fat and retained all my strength, energy and vitality. Now at 50 years young I'm in top shape and wake up each day with a renewed vigor for life! If you want to find your personal best stop messing around and start following the fighter diet it will transform your life!"
Are You Skinny Fat?
There’s always a lot of focus on obese people, and how they're going lose weight. Easy formula: exercise and watch the diet, and the normal scenario is you’ll lose pounds per week. But, for those who are not very overweight yet not very fit either, the formula is not quite as simple. When your muscle mass is too small to look quite buff and your body fat is a bit too high to show off the muscle, you find yourself in the skinny fat zone: too high body fat, too low muscle mass.
Chris Weidman tweets post-surgery picture, says procedure 'a success'
Weidman (11-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) was originally supposed to fight Vitor Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6 UFC) in the UFC 173 main event. But when the Nevada State Athletic Commission banned testosterone-replacement therapy, Belfort was removed from the card so he could have ample time for his body to adjust to a career with it. Instead, Machida (21-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) was inserted into the title fight, which will be just his third bout at middleweight.

Morning Report: Julianna Pena sheds light on gruesome training incident
"I don't think I accidentally explained it incorrectly to [Dana White] -- I think I explained it 110 percent exactly how the story went.... What happened was, I wasn't even wearing an Ultimate Fighter shirt ... because the kid told me he thought it was an Ultimate Fighter rash guard. But, here's the thing, it's a gray rash guard, okay? It had a little UFC emblem on it. I was wearing that, I was late. So, when I got there, he was like ‘hurry up, let's go.' So, I get on the mat, I hit the clock, and he says, ‘Oh, you're wearing your Ultimate Fighter rash guard. I was like, what's that supposed to mean? ‘That you're really tough, I'm really scared.' I'm like, whatever, and we slapped hands, and a minute later, my knee was tore out."

In testimony to Congress last week, military leaders told Congress that military personnel are understanding as to why they must take pay cuts. The officials told Congress that troops are ready and willing to sacrifice their pay. FD Cardio 4 Leanness (Athlete)
Hi, my name is SGT Ryan Casperson, I am Active duty Army stationed at Fort Drum, NY. I've been following Pauline and her Fighter Diet concept for the better part of 2 years now. At first I was skeptical like I am about all fitness related mentors, but after following Pauline on Facebook and watching her interact with people and seeing her no bullshit attitude, as well as her attention to detail in everything she does, I knew from that she was the REAL DEAL.
I've been using Fighter Diets " Cardio 4 Leanness" ebook recently, and let me tell you, in the Army we run about 5-6 miles every other day and I can run 2 miles in14:30 minutes but none of that has broke me off as hard as this concept has.
I look forward to continuing to use her as a tool in my fitness and can't wait for more results!

Turbo Tapping: How to Get Rid of Your Soda Addiction 5/4/05
After one full round (including the 9 Gamut), I start tapping on everything from my list, moving from point to point quickly and keeping eye-to-eye contact with my client as well as I can. And this is precisely where my intuition really kicks in. Beginning with the first aspect on my list, I begin to feel "impressions" that direct the tapping and usage of key words and phrases. For me, the use of intuition in Turbo Tapping is like a shortcut to success. Sometimes, I stay on one aspect for a whole sequence, ("I like it really cold"), other times I'll combine aspects in a single sequence, alternating between meridian points (e.g. "My mother always had Coke at home," and "I drink Coke when I'm lonely or depressed"). I follow my intuition when I move from one aspect to another, not necessarily going in the order in which I wrote them down. Sometimes, I even bring out new aspects that need to be named and disarmed, often to the surprise, but complete agreement, of my client.

FDXtreme get ripped (Athlete)
I never wanted to be a professional yo-yo dieter, that's why I always refused to have off seasons body composition wise. In my world it's embarrassing if you look like a totally different person in real life compared to your photos or competition pics. If you need to spend half a year at leaning out all the flab just to do a show or two or a photo shoot or two, because your appetite is too big or your discipline to weak, is it really worth it? Looking great two days a year and then be soft and mushy. For me it never was anyway.
I'm not talking about having a few healthy pounds to shed for an event, I'm referring to all those who get FAT, yeah FAT when the show time is over. The ladies get double butt size and with that follows stretch marks which don't look great on stage. It's manageable
Welcome to the UFC Anthony Hamilton
Hamilton has an exceptionally tough nut to crack in facing Oleksiy Oliynyk. Oliynyk is exactly the kind of seasoned, polished heavyweight who could trouble Hamilton, both with his dynamic, power punching and his tricky submission game. The big question will be if Hamilton can impose his size on Oliynyk and open up an opportunity for the TKO. He'll be 5 inches and 20 lbs larger than his opponent. If he can't make that advantage work for him, he'll be hard pressed to win this fight.
Chael Sonnen doubts Wanderlei Silva's motives: 'He's going to claim he's hurt'
"It's one of those things where, something stinks here," Sonnen said Tuesday after a sparring session at the Reign MMA gym. "He's talking more than ever. He's saying things like ‘Chael better not get hurt' and ‘Chael better not fall out.' I've never pulled out, ever. If I'm hurt or I'm sick, I just show up. Never do I complain or I pull out. What that's telling me, he's going to claim he's hurt. He's just doing all these things to tip his hand here, and something stinks and I don't know what it is, but something's going on."

The Fighter & The Kid
This podcast has jumped to the top of my UFC/MMA podcast list - but c'mon, once a week?. I really feel like Brendan and Bryan should be able to do at least 2 eps a week, or maybe 2 hours a pop - I mean, what else do these guys have to do during the day? Brendan habitually mispronouncing every major UFC fighter's name on the roster is a nice touch, too. I also want to hear more about Bryan's mad greco skills. I think he should do each episode shirtless.

ONE FC 15 adds three fights, including Kotetsu Boku vs. Eduard Folayang
Boku will look to stay on track after a first-round knockout win over Arnaud Lepont at ONE FC 14 in March. That win snapped a two-fight skid and pulled him back to even at 2-2 for the promotion. Folayang, who will fight in front of his home fans in the Philippines, recently snapped a two-fight losing streak, as well. He took a decision from Vincent Latoel at ONE FC 13 in December after back-to-back losses to Lowen Tynanes and Kamal Shalorus.
Breast milk and diet up to two years old: A means of preventing the risk of child obesity
Many studies have focused on the influence of breast-feeding on child health. From analysis of data from the ELANCE cohort, Marie Franoise Rolland-Cachera, former researcher at Inserm and her co-workers in the Nutritional Epidemiology Research Team (EREN) have shown that breast-feeding has a protective effect on the risk of obesity at 20 years of age. Researchers also emphasise that nutritional intake at the age of 2 years are critical in providing this beneficial effect. The results of the study are published in The Journal of Pediatrics.
WSOF has ‘big interest’ in longtime UFC vet Melvin Guillard
After 22 fights in the UFC, Melvin Guillard was unceremoniously released in late March after a dispirited loss to Michael Johnson in London. The man who at one point not so long ago was vying for his shot at the lightweight title is now searching for a new cage to call home. And it seems that the World Series of Fighting might be that place. WSOF Matchmaker/Vice President Ali Abdel-Aziz expressed fondness for Guillard and his fighting style on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. He said that though they are in just preliminary discussions, he thinks "The Young Assassin" would be a great addition to WSOF’s lightweight ranks. "I’ve talked to Melvin Guillard myself," Abdel-Aziz said. "He called me, and I talked to his management…actually, his manager texted me, I owe him a call. But, yeah, of course, absolutely, I have big interest in Melvin. The guy is exciting and he always puts on great fights win, lose or draw. And I got the chance to train with him and spar with him, and the guy if he’s focused, and he’s training, Melvin Guillard is dangerous.

Will Chope, ex-wife release video urging the UFC to reconsider his release
"But I hope now that they have all the details and all the facts from me and my ex-wife - the victim - that they would reconsider. It's my dream to fight in the UFC. I want to be the best fighter in the world. That's what I want to do. I know that's a long shot, but the only way I'm going to do that is if I'm in the UFC."
Why Metamoris 3 represented everything I love about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
There were many other impressive performances from competitors like Dean Lister and Renato “Babalu” Sobral who had a fun match and proved that big guys can be technical and exciting to watch. Keenan Cornelius kept up with his winning ways and was able to submit and a game Kevin Casey who took the match on 30 minute notice due to Vinny Magalhaes having to drop out last minute due to a staph infection. Rafa Mendes and Clark Gracie had a very technical match. Mendes showed a sophisticated and aggressive style of jiu-jitsu but the heavier Gracie was able to defend and contain the dangerous Mendes to gain a draw in their match. The other half of the Mendes brothers “Gui” showed that same attacking brand of jiu-jitsu and earned a submission win over the technical Samir Chantre proving why the Mendes brothers are considered some of the best pound for pound best grapplers on the planet. Sean Roberts and Zak Maxwell kicked off the night with a highly entertaining match that saw Roberts get off to a great start in the first 10 minutes and Maxwell finishing very strong in the last 10.

Bellator 115: What to Watch For
Vitaly Minakov has finished his last 10 opponents. | Photo:
MMA returns to Spike TV on Friday with a heavyweight title main
Minakov will put his championship on the line to close out
115 , which takes place at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nev.
Bellator’s debut in the Silver State also marks Minakov’s first
defense of his heavyweight belt -- a crown he snatched from
Volkov in November.
While Minakov’s name will likely fail to attract any new or casual
fans, the Russian’s abilities should not be questioned. The
undefeated heavyweight is a four-time world champion in sambo and
has scored 12 of his 13 MMA victories by either knockout or
submission. Minakov has yet to go the distance in his four-fight
Bellator career and has shown the ability to both finish opponents
quickly and tread into deeper waters when he must, as he did in his
third-round knockout of Ryan
Martinez in the 2013 Summer Series final. Now, the 29-year-old
will lock horns with
Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Cheick
Kongo , who rides back-to-back victories into his title shot.

"As an IFBB Professional Figure Athlete, it goes without saying that getting and staying lean is my job. My livelihood depends on my physical condition and maintaining a low body fat. I am, however, a normal person just like everyone else that battles with overcoming my desire to eat poorly. I am also interested in finding out how other people are successful with obtaining and maintaining a fit physique. I personally struggle with the mental obstacles that come into play while dieting just like everyone else. Despite quick turnaround, UFC 173's Robbie Lawler in no rush for another title shot

Why did this cop smash this woman in the face during the Arizona "riot"?
Well away from the "front line" of this weekend's sports-related disturbance in Arizona, a cop dashes up to what appears to be a calm, unthreatening spectator and strikes her in the face (0:20s). She's thrown over a bench; the officer makes no attempt to detain, arrest, or otherwise communicate with her.
The officer just turns and walks away.

Right now, Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) is well into record territory. Antonio Inoki’s Undeniable Staying Power
Antonio Inoki help revitalize the MMA scene in Japan? | Photo:
Ten years after his New Year’s Eve MMA event at Kobe Wing Stadium
tanked in the Nippon TV ratings, Antonio Inoki’s future as a
promoter in Japan looked bleak. His original pro-wrestling
organization, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, was about to be sold to
videogame company Yukes. Inoki signed a deal to remain a face -- a
character for themed events. However, his days as a promoter
appeared to be numbered. Relegated to being a pitchman and a
celebrity, Inoki tried to find ways to stay relevant in the fight
Then everything imploded. The promoter for the Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2003
show, an admitted yakuza fixer named Seiya Kawamata, cooperated in
a negative media campaign against
Pride Fighting Championships in the weekly magazine Shukan
Gendai. Pride soon collapsed, leaving K-1 as the major player in
town, and Inoki always had good relations with K-1 boss Kazuyoshi
The unthinkable then happened. K-1 collapsed, and suddenly, there
was a power vacuum in the national Japanese combat sports
Use Your Heart Rate To Measure Overtraining
Using Morning Heart Rate To Measure Fitness & Fatigue
Measuring your morning heart rate is pretty simple. All you need is a digital watch, a small notebook and a pen on your nightstand. As soon as you wake up in the morning, find your pulse on your neck, just under your chin, or on your wrist. Using the watch, count the number of times your heart beats for 20 seconds. Multiply this number by three and you have your resting heart rate (RHR) in beats per minute (bpm). Record this number in your notebook next to the day’s date. Now make sure to repeat this process every morning.

Johny Hendricks thinks he could come back by September, wants division to sort out a number one contender
"I want to push myself to the limit, but I want to keep it within the doctor’s range," Hendricks said. "I’m saying I’ll return anywhere from September to November. I know that’s a huge spread, but if I’m healing up quickly, which I believe I’m going to, then September is easy. Then again, I don’t want to push it too quick because if I reinjure it, I’ll be out even longer."
Fabricio Werdum wants to be remembered as more than just the guy who beat Fedor
According to Werdum, he also has a more well-rounded game than many people give him credit for. It’s something he made a concerted effort to prove in his 2012 return to the UFC against Roy Nelson. His Strikeforce run ended with a lackluster performance in a decision loss against Overeem, a bout Werdum says he overtrained for, leaving him too weary to battle on the feet. But against Nelson he showed off a kickboxing game that few fans knew he had, and that was no accident.
