2 Dana White reveals what will happen with Conor McGregor's featherweight title

"I'm not mad even a little bit," White said. "It's UFC 200, it's a massive fight, I have 600 people on the roster that all want to fight on this card. Believe me, when Conor went out, 10 other people called asking to go in. Plenty of people want to fight on this card, it's a massive event. It's still a big fight. No, I'm not mad at all."

How Death, Money & Mayweather Possibly Influenced Conor McGregor’s Retirement

Editor’s note: The views and opinions expressed below are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of, its affiliates and sponsors or its parent company, Evolve Media. The MMA world was rocked on Tuesday by the news that Conor McGregor will not be competing at UFC 200, but the reasons for McGregor’s departure are extraordinarily complicated. The truth lies somewhere in between the featherweight titlist’s retirement tweet and UFC President Dana White ’s insistence that McGregor was pulled from the event for refusing to participate in pre-fight promotional activities. There is a rumor circulating that McGregor demanded $10 million to fight Nate Diaz on July 9 and was rejected by the UFC. My theory -- and this is 100-percent speculation -- is that this is, indirectly, the fault of Floyd Mayweather Jr. It sounds like a reach, but look at the entirety of the situation rather than a brief tweet and a response from the UFC head determined to protect his company’s brand. For months, there have been rumors about tension between the UFC and McGregor.

Conor McGregor says past promotional work distracted him and lead to his loss to Nate Diaz

The UFC's biggest star says he's done "dancing" for the promotion and needs to focus on training and fighting in order to come back strong after his recent loss.

Episode No. 1 recap: 'The Ultimate Fighter 23: Team Joanna vs. Team Claudia'

Strawweight: Alyssa Krahn (3-1) vs. Jamie Moyle (3-1) Round 1 – There’s no feeling-out process as Krahn and Moyle attack each other from the outside. Krahn scores a brief takedown but can’t keep Moyle down for more than a few seconds. Moyle looks to clinch and the fighters pummel back-and-forth for position. Krahn launches Moyle to the mat with a slick arm-drag takedown and lands in guard. Moyle is looking to create space to get up or lock up a submission from her back, but Krahn holds position. Moyle eventually uses the cage to scoot back to her feet and the fight returns to the standing clinch. Moyle breaks free and lands a hard left hand that causes Krahn to shoot for a desperate takedown. Moyle denies it but keeps heavy on the failed takedown and uses it to get on top. Krahn gives up her back and after some work Moyle locks in a rear-naked choke for the stoppage.

Conor McGregor 'not retired' and 'still ready for UFC 200,' but demands lighter PR schedule

Conor McGregor isn’t retired and is still willing to fight at UFC 200, but the UFC featherweight champion is going to need a lighter publicity and promotional schedule to do it, he today announced.

Dana White: If Conor McGregor calls me now, the fight with Nate Diaz is back on

“If he called me after this interview, we could probably still do it,” White told Cowherd. “The thing is, you have to be here to promote your fight, and you have to shoot this commercial. We’re spending like $10 million in promotion for UFC 200, and all that money is in motion. You can’t do this. I don’t care who you are or how big you are. You can’t do this.”

St. Preux Thinks Recent Activity Might Give Him ‘Slight Advantage’ Against Returning Jones

While Jon Jones was busy rehabilitating his image over the course of the past year, Ovince St. Preux maintained an active schedule, fighting three times since last April. His interim title bout against the returning Jones in the UFC 197 headliner on Saturday will give him four fights in approximately one year’s time. Jones, meanwhile, has not competed since taking a five-round verdict over Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 in January 2015. St. Preux isn’t banking on ring rust being a huge factor in their fight, but even the slightest edge couldn’t hurt against the man regarded by many as the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighter. “It might give me a little bit of an advantage,” St. Preux said during a recent conference call. “But at this time it’s just the proper preparation stuff. I know how to prepare correctly for fights so I have a good camp behind me. “The past two weeks have been really strenuous, but it’s just two weeks. I sacrificed a lot in my life in order to make things happen so I might have a slight advantage but it really doesn’t matter.

Preview: UFC 197 ‘Jones vs. St. Preux’ - Jones vs. St. Preux

All eyes will be on Jon Jones , as the former Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder returns to the Octagon for the first time since unlawful behavior outside the cage led to his being stripped of his crown. Jones will face Ovince St. Preux -- he replaces the injured Daniel Cormier on short notice -- for the interim 205-pound championship in the UFC 197 main event on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the co-headliner, flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson risks his title against unbeaten Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo in a five-round clash at 125 pounds. Intriguing bouts dot the rest of the main card, as onetime lightweight titlist Anthony Pettis meets Edson Barboza , “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes” winner Robert Whittaker confronts Rafael Natal and Team Alpha Male ’s Andre Fili battles Yair Rodriguez . Let us take a closer look at each UFC 197 “Jones vs. St. Preux” matchup, with analysis and picks: UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Championship Jon Jones (21-1) vs.

Ricardo Lamas booked for fight with Max Holloway at June's UFC 199 in California

Lamas got back in the win column this past November in Mexico with a unanimous decision win over Diego Sanchez. Lamas’ title shot against then-champ Jose Aldo came in the UFC 169 co-main event, and he dropped a unanimous decision. He bounced back with a decision win over Hacran Dias and a submission of Dennis Bermudez at UFC 180, but then was stopped with a TKO midway through the first round in the UFC Fight Night 63 main event against Chad Mendes.

The rest of the five-fight main card features Brennan Ward - Evangelista Santos , Brent Primus - Gleristone Santos and Michael Page - Jeremie Holloway . “No More Games” — Conor Breaks His Silence With New Morning Message On Retirement

It was just two short days ago that Conor McGregor shocked the world and announced his retirement. And outside of that quick one-line statement, he’s remained silent while the UFC’s PR team raced to address the madness on nearly every media outlet covering the sport.

Benson Henderson (23-5 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) makes his Bellator debut on Friday with a welterweight title shot against champion Andrey Koreshkov (18-1 MMA, 9-1 BMMA). Henderson was a lightweight champ in the UFC, as well as in the WEC, and earlier this went to Bellator as a free agent.

20 McGregor Retracts Retirement In Lengthy Statement: ‘I’m READY for UFC 200… And My Revenge

I am just trying to do my job and fight here. I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote. I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting. There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop. 50 world tours, 200 press conferences, 1 million interviews, 2 million photo shoots, and at the end of it all I’m left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this. Nothing else was going through my mind. It is time to go back and live the life that got me this life. Sitting in a car on the way to some dump in Conneticut or somewhere, to speak to Tim and Suzie on the nobody gives a fuck morning show did not get me this life. Talking to some lady that deep down doesn’t give a fuck about what I’m doing, but just wants some sound bites so she can maybe get her little tight ass a nice raise, and I’m cool with that too, I’ve been giving you all raises. But I need to focus on me now.

21 McGregor Tweets And Deletes An Important Announcement… Here It Is!

Nearly twenty-four hours after announcing his retirement on Tuesday, Conor McGregor took to social media yet again to tease a major announcement. However, just seconds later, the featherweight took the Jon “Bones” Jones path and deleted his message. Luckily, someone was able to screen-capture it:

Dana White: ‘Conor Call Me… We Can Still Make UFC 200 Happen’

“Yeah if he called me after this interview, we would probably still do it. The problem is this, the problem with this whole thing is you have to be here to promote your fight and you have to shoot this commercial. We’re spending like ten million dollars in promotion for ‘UFC 200’.”

UFC 197 Statistical Matchup Analysis: Johnson vs. Cejudo

The word “underappreciated” comes to mind when discussing Demetrious Johnson . Having already dispatched nearly every defensible contender, the man they call “Mighty Mouse” is knocking on the doors of MMA history. He was last seen in September, when he took a clear-cut unanimous decision over John Dodson . That was his seventh title defense, tying him with former featherweight champion Jose Aldo for the fourth-most title defenses in Ultimate Fighting Championship history. In each of those defenses, Dodson was the only one who managed to steal any rounds from him, making Johnson arguably the most dominant champion the UFC has ever seen. He fought twice in 2015; this is his first fight of 2016. Standing across from him in the UFC 197 co-main event on Saturday will be the highly touted Henry Cejudo . The undefeated prospect and former Olympic gold medalist made his UFC debut in December 2014 and has only fought four times in the promotion. However, he has impressed in each bout, utilizing his athletic and technical gifts to take one-sided decisions every time out.

Dana: McGregor vs. Diaz Is Officially OFF

It’s official: Nate Diaz will no longer be squaring off with Conor McGregor in a welterweight matchup at “UFC 200”. The fight was originally scheduled to be the main event, but a combination of McGregor’s refusal to attend the media appearances and his sudden retirement caused UFC President Dana White to scrap the fight.

UFC Fight Night 91 gets Tim Boetsch vs. Josh Samman, Scott Holtzman vs. Cody Pfister

“The Barbarian” Boetsch (18-10 MMA, 9-9 UFC) is likely fighting for his spot on the roster, as the heavy hitter has suffered consecutive defeats to Ed Herman, Dan Henderson and Thales Leites. He now meets “The Ultimate Fighter 17” cast member Samman (12-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC), who saw a three-fight winning streak come to a halt with a December loss to Tamdan McCrory.

Randa Markos to Meet Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger at UFC Fight Night in Ottawa

Randa Markos will square off against Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger at UFC Fight Night in Ottawa. Promotion officials announced the strawweight contest on Thursday. UFC Fight Night takes place at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on June 18 and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Rory MacDonald and Stephen Thompson . The evening’s main card will be televised on Fox Sports 1. Markos, 30, is 1-2 during her brief UFC tenure. “The Ultimate Fighter 20” cast member last competed at UFC on Fox 17 in December, when she suffered a decision loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz . The Tristar Gym product is 5-3 in her pro career, with three victories via submission. Jones-Lybarger had a four-bout winning streak snapped in her Octagon debut, as she lost a three-round verdict to Tecia Torres at UFC 194 in December. The former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion is 6-2 as a professional, with five victories by decision.

Kyle Noke vs. Keita Nakamura slated for UFC Fight Night 91 in South Dakota

He now meets fellow vet Nakamura, a 31-year-old Japanese fighter who’s 1-1 in his fourth and most recent UFC stint. He returned to the organization in September and picked up a “Performance of the Night” bonus with his submission victory over Li Jingliang, and it pushed his overall winning streak to five fights. However, in his most recent bout, the former Deep and World Victory Road champ suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Tom Breese.

The 31-year-old Invicta FC and Bellator vet picked up a submission win over Lisa Ellis a fight prior, which marked her official UFC debut.

35 6 fighters who can replace Conor McGregor and fight Nate Diaz at UFC 200

Poirier is just one year and three fights into his UFC lightweight run after moving up from featherweight, and in that short period of time, he's already placed himself among the division's best. He scored first-round, Performance-of-the-Night winning finishes against Diego Ferreira and Diaz's training partner Yancy Medeiros, and his hard-fought win over Joe Duffy helped him crack the lightweight top 10. Duffy, like some of the other fighters listed below, has a scheduled fight coming up, but making sure UFC 200 is as historic as advertised takes priority here.

Jon Jones Seeks Career Longevity, Draws Inspiration from Mayweather, Hopkins

Once upon a time, Jon Jones was tentatively planning an early exit strategy from mixed martial arts. Jones addressed the topic shortly after edging Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 in the toughest test of his stellar professional career. Back then, “Bones” expressed a desire to retire by age 30. “I’m 26 now. I think a man can be in his fighting prime until his mid 30s,” Jones told CBS Baltimore in November 2013. “Saying that though I would like to retire by 30, so a few more years.” These days, however, Jones has a different vision, and he attributes much of that to the lifestyle changes he has implemented during the course of the past year. The former light heavyweight king, of course, has been on hiatus for more than a year after injuring a pregnant women in a hit-and-run accident in Albuquerque, N.M., last April. After he was suspended and stripped of his title, Jones not only found a new diet and powerlifting-based workout, but he claims to have stayed away from the alcohol and drugs that fueled him at his partying peak.
