San Diegans Might Have A Tear In Their Eye After This Amazing Timelapse Video

Technically speaking, great production 10/10 Time Lapse video… But as a local San Diegan you got the most touristy spots, now that’s ok, but I challenge you to get more spots of where the locals go. You totally missed Mission Hills, North Park, South Park, Normal Heights, Adams Ave, El Cajon Blvd. HILLCREST! There should be no doubt Josh Barnett is the most metal athlete in all of sport

"It's the third time I've been nominated, hopefully the third one's the charm," Barnett told FOX Sports.  "I can't remember who I lost to the first year, granted they certainly weren't as metal as I was.  The second time I lost it was to the Dallas Cowboys O-lineman who had a really, really sh--ty metal band and he won.  Unfortunately, it's a popularity contest sort of thing, not a grounded in reality kind of deal.  I'm going to try just to help spread the word of death to false metal."

The Spice That Prevents Fluoride From Destroying Your Brain -

Svetlana Fortunatova I know very well how russia treats their own people AND refugees. i didn't say there's no corruption in russia, but believe me it's worse here. you won't find horrid pictures like these in america because hospitals are allowed to take them down and sue the people who post them. let's compare - russian hospitals (where i was practically raised) have the best doctors who follow all sterile procedures and regulations to assure patient safety because they LOVE THEIR JOBS and even though they aren't paid all that well, they do it because they want to help people. compare that to doctors here many of whom only passed through the exams by cramming information into their short-term memory and cheating. then they put the lives of patients in danger because they have no fucking idea what they're doing and on top of that - as clean as the hospitals here look, i don't think they can get any dirtier than this. patients have more chance getting even sicker or contracting some unknown disease in the EMERGENCY WAITING ROOM than they do from outside the hospital.

MetroPCS Move of the Week: Glover Teixeira

Glover Teixeira shows off his jiu jitsu game as he locks up the arm triangle on Kyle Kingsbury in the move of the week.

Five years later, the question remains: Who is Jon Jones?

When Glover Teixeira beat Sokoudjou at WEC 24 in October 2006, Jon Jones was barely 19 years old and still in college. At that time, Teixeira was riding a modest three-fight winning streak, and his name didn’t register much beyond Lemoore. Eight years later, in April 2014, that streak has grown to 20 wins in a row. By all measures, a winning streak like that in the roulette sport of four-ounce gloves is remarkable, even if visa problems prevented him from waxing people in front of North American eyes. Yet the fight game is funny, because it’s Jones who stands as Goliath heading into their momentum clash at UFC 172 in Baltimore this Saturday night. Even coming off of a humanizing performance against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 -- the first fight of his career where he had to dig deep to win -- it still feels like Jones as the inevitable. And it says something about the price of Jones’ exceptionalism that Teixeira, and that block-long trail of casualties he’s amassed over the last decade, is being imagined as a Brazilian Soda Popinski -- modestly imposing but totally beatable -- heading into their fight.

“I got a letter and it was like please cancel all transactions, please fix your automatic pay account and make sure everything’s taken care of by May 11,” Presley told XBiz. “I called them and they told me that because I am, I guess, public and am recognizable in the adult business, they’re closing my account. Even though I don’t use my account, it’s my personal account that I’ve had since I was 18, when it was Washington Mutual before Chase bought them out.”

Countdown to UFC 172: Jon Jones vs Glover Teixeira

Countdown takes you behind the scenes before UFC 172 as four of the best light heavyweights in the world prepare for a night that will reshape the division. Dominant champion Jon Jones prepares to face Glover Teixeira, his most dangerous threat to date.

Learn to Run in 4 Simple Steps | The Dolce Diet

I’ve seen way too many runners cross the finish line only to toss their shoes in the closet to collect dust because they’ve burned out by overzealous goals. Invest in running. Take your time to find the joy, and you’ll be a runner for life. If you are about to take your first steps, think about running 30 minutes straight in a few months (or a 5K event.) With the pressure gone, all you need to focus on is putting one foot in front of the other. Set a smaller goal for your first running session. For example, aim to finish and go a little farther than you have to and complete your workout in a good mood. Set another goal for your second workout and so on, and so on.

Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira, Phil Davis vs. Anthony Johnson staredown pic from UFC 172 media day in Baltimore

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) took the field earlier today -- literally -- at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland, where it held a special media day for the upcoming UFC 172: "Jones vs. Teixeira" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place this Saturday night (April 26, 2014) inside the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

In Another Year or Two, Jared Rosholt Believes He’ll Be Among Best Heavyweights in MMA

Jared Rosholt recently notched his second win in the UFC, and the 27-year-old expects plenty more to follow in the coming years. In an interview with the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show , Rosholt discussed his UFC Fight Night win over Daniel Omielanczuk , his future in the sport and much more. On the effect of the heat in Abu Dhabi and the perspiration it caused: “We were completely caught off guard, to be honest, because when we had talked to other people and read about being over there in Abu Dhabi, we were told it was going to be a dry heat. We were thinking, ‘Oh, it’s going to be like Vegas. It’s going to be dry heat.’ I prefer that myself because when you’re that sweaty and big guys and stuff like that, we sweat a lot anyways, but when it’s humid and hot, it’s twice as bad. That just makes it so hard to try and look for submissions. It’s a lot harder to control people because it’s hard to hold onto them. When you’re going against a guy that is a three-time Polish national champion in muay Thai, you prefer not to stand right in front of him the whole 15 minutes.

UFC 172: 17 Top MMA fighters predict Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira

Josh Samman : When we look back on the Jon Jones reign of the Light Heavyweight division years later, I think we will see Glover Teixeira as one of his easier matchups. "Easy" is never a word I'm comfortable with in a cage fight, especially a world title fight, but I think stylistically this is going to be bad for Glover. Teixeira has shown to be far too hittable in his recent fights, and Jon is too damn good at striking to not capitalize on that. Jones will hurt him and finish it with strikes or one of his long-man submissions, and hopefully move on to fight the one challenger I believe has a chance in the division, Daniel Cormier .

We Have No Idea What Hip Show Is, But It's The Best Thing On TV

What we appear to have here is a sport born out of some kind of strange mixture of The Ultimate Fighter , American Gladiators , and BattleBots . Two teams of two enter an arena filled with all kinds of weird obstacles—seriously, what the fuck are those ropes for?—and beat the crap out of each other. Basic MMA fighting rules seem to apply, although kicks to the head are apparently frowned upon. "Not cool, not cool at all," one of the announcers intones when one guy catches a foot to the head.

Luke Rockhold: The Patient Realist

Luke Rockhold is confident, not cocky; ambitious, but patient; a dreamer, yet a realist. It’s the mix that makes him one of the more intriguing personalities on the UFC roster, but at heart, what drives him is the fight. So every day, he travels to the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) Gym in San Jose, California, and he fights. He doesn’t get paid in cash for these daily scraps with some of the best in the business, but in experience, in confidence, and in knowing that, like the old saying goes, “the more you sweat, the less you bleed.” You can also go with “steel sharpens steel,” “the harder the training, the easier the fight,” or any number of phrases that are so true that they’ve become clichés. Rockhold believes them to be true though, especially as he closes in on his UFC 172 meeting with Tim Boetsch this Saturday in Baltimore. “I expect the fight to be a hundred times easier than what I’ve encountered every day in the gym,” he said. “Me and DC (light heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier ) have been sparring pretty hard, and I don’t think Tim Boetsch is anywhere near the wrestler or striker DC is.

Andrei Arlovski returns to UFC

UFC president Dana White tweeted Thursday night, " Welcome back Andrei Arlovski! ", however he didn't provide further clarification as to whether or not the Belarusian fighter had officially re-signed with the UFC. learned on Wednesday that the organization had been in talks with Arlovski about a return and confirmed with sources close to the situation that he has agreed to a new deal.

Jessamyn Duke: Locked and Loaded

Setting goals is important in any walk of life. Approaching her second fight in the UFC this Saturday against Bethe Correia , Jessamyn Duke agrees, but her goal is a singular one. “Nobody goes into a fight thinking they’re going to lose,” she said. “But I don’t just go into a fight saying I’m going to win. No, I’m going to dominate this fight. I’m going to go in and impose my will. I’m going to punch her in the face and in the body, I’m going to throw every tool I’ve got at her and do my best to just melt her with one punch. That’s my goal.” Those are fighting words, but with a hashtag of #dontplaywithguns making its rounds on Twitter, “The Gun” isn’t backing down from what she expects to be a defining performance this weekend in Baltimore. “In my opinion, this is my first real fight camp with the team out here,” said Kentucky’s Duke, who has found a new home in Southern California with coach Edmond Tarverdyan and three roommates you may have heard of. In fact, Duke, Ronda Rousey , Shayna Baszler , and Marina Shafir have become so inseparable in the gym and out of it that they’ve dubbed themselves The Four Horsewomen.

A Fighter's Chance: The Adaptive Athletes of MMA | FIGHTLAND

“They cite fighter safety as their main argument,” Mitch continues. “You can't use that as an excuse because fighter safety is one thing, but it's a dangerous sport. I personally believe that they feel they need to protect the sport—that the sport can't afford a black eye. They're all scared to death of a headline like, 'Kid with Down's Syndrome gets Knocked Out.'”

Vitor Belfort is Clear No. 1 Middleweight Contender, but When UFC Title Shot Comes Remains Foggy |

UFC president Dana White in an ESPN SportsNation online chat with fans on Wednesday confirmed that Belfort is still the No. 1 contender to Weidman’s title even though he withdrew from a May 24 bout with the champion due to changes in Nevada’s TRT policy.

Chael Sonnen-Wanderlei Silva Altercation on ‘TUF’ Draws Mixed Reactions in Brazil

Many in the Brazilian MMA community do not approve of Wanderlei Silva’s actions on “TUF.” | Taro Irei/ The last two episodes of the “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3” have sparked plenty of controversy within the Brazilian mixed martial arts community. The vast majority of the audience, including Brazilian fighters and coaches, did not approve of the brawl between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen on the show. They also did not have a favorable view of Team Silva coach Andre Dida’s role in the altercation. Below are some reactions to the recent events on the reality show. Jose Landi-Jons (former Silva teammate): Wanderlei raucous behavior on the show is not the Wanderlei I know. What Dida did [by involving himself] was not honorable in martial arts. These things are solved one on one, and nobody else interferes. Vitor Belfort : Wanderlei and Sonnen’s brawl on “TUF Brazil” embarrasses me. MMA fighters should be aware that their behavior can influence millions of people for better or for worse. MMA is not a brawl, it's a fight of trained people inside an Octagon.

Cris Cyborg: Ronda Rousey is UFC's paper champion, her opponents are handpicked

"I always admired Dana White as a great businessman that always believed in MMA and helped our sport to grow around the world. And I’m sure that, with the power he has, he would never go against his paper champion."

Dana White Says Ronda Rousey Would Hurt Floyd Mayweather; Fight Would Make a Zillion Dollars |

Of course, White isn’t generally a fan of freak-show match-ups – ahem, save for Randy Couture vs. James Toney – but if he could put Mayweather in the Octagon with Rousey, he’d be all over it.

Franca’s original sentence included four-and-a-half years of post-prison supervision, and the requirement to register as a sex offender. Being expelled from America gets him off the hook for that stuff, but the good news is, his career is over, he’ll be treated as a social pariah for the rest of his life, and we’ll never have to look at his stupid goddamned hair again .

UFC 175: Weidman vs. Machida fight card shaping up

UFC 175 goes down on July 5th in Las Vegas, and is shaping up to be one of the deepest cards of the year. This is no surprise as the Independence Day weekend card is always a big one, but two title fights on top should get some more attention than usual from fans.

Video: White says Rousey won't be reprimanded for calling 'Cyborg' an 'it'

“I’ve said before, I don’t care if she’s injecting horse semen into her eyeballs, I’ll fight her, but that’s just my personal decision,” Rousey said. “But I can’t make a decision for the whole division. I can’t say it’s the right thing. This girl has been on steroids for so long and [has been] injecting herself for so long that she’s not even a woman anymore. She’s an ‘it.’ It’s not good for the women’s division. It’s not good at all.”

Majority Draw Radio: UFC 172's Joseph Benavidez, Plus Jon Jones & Fabricio Werdum Discussion |

Flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez stops by to discuss his FOX Sports 1 UFC 172 preliminary bout with Tim Elliot. The Team Alpha Male representative shares his disbelief he’s now a veteran statesman in the Sacramento, Calif.-based camp, how he intends to rebound from the first knockout of his career, and gives a nod to T.J. Dillashaw for having the look of a championship fighter in training.

Update: Cain Velasquez possibly out until 2015

I spoke to his wrestling coach and he told me that Cain's doctor cleared him to use his right hand in training two weeks ago, but he's not sure if Cain's ready to use the left hand yet. He's not sure if he'll be ready by November. He said he won't rush into the fight that's targeted for then. He won't fight until he's 100 percent. There's talk of Cain coaching The Ultimate Fighter Latin America, and the UFC has approached him about it, and they could film it in May in Las Vegas. It would be a likely scenario that he'd coach against Werdum now.

Video: Don't like Jon Jones? UFC champ says Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather dealt with haters, too

Like Ali and Mayweather before him, Jones has made it known his career goal is to be the best fighter that ever lived, and he’s certainly off to one hell of a start. With a win over Glover Teixeira, a rematch with Alexander Gustafsson looms large on the horizon. After that, the winner of May’s Daniel Cormier vs. Dan Henderson bout can also stake a claim as the division’s No. 1 contender. And of course, Phil Davis hopes a UFC 172 win over Anthony Johnson will earn him a shot at the champ.

Dana White: Ronda Rousey will not be disciplined for calling Cyborg 'an it'

Notes: White said Anthony Johnson will be cut by the UFC and never allowed back if he misses weight Friday. Johnson was released by the organization once already for the indiscretion. … The UFC does not have a uniform deal with Under Armour, White said, but Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank might be at Baltimore Arena to watch the fights Saturday night. … White will speak at the ground breaking of a new 20,000-seat arena being built by MGM in Las Vegas on May 1.

Jones said he was at the store that day getting a new phone, and Kawa couldn’t reach him. Kawa said that when he finally did get through to Jones, he asked Jones if he wrote the offensive comments. Jones had no idea what Kawa was even talking about, he said. Kawa then sent Jones screengrabs of what had been posted to his Instagram account.

Twitter Mailbag: Fowlkes on UFC 172, Liddell vs. Jones, and more

The UFC seems to have decided that the way to sell its product is to scream “BEST EVER!!!” at every opportunity. The problem is that, for one, it’s lazy, and two, it doesn’t actually tell us anything. If you’re a fan who doesn’t know much about Teixiera (and you wouldn’t be alone there) or why he’s such a threat to Jones, what has the UFC done to sell you on it? Shouting about how great a fight will be doesn’t work because we know that the UFC doesn’t know if that’s true yet. Nobody does. Not for sure. Not until it happens. It’s making us a promise that it is not within the UFC’s power to fulfill, and in the process it’s missing the chance to explain why it thought this was a good idea to begin with. It’s salesmanship for dummies.

Chris Camozzi returns against Bruno Santos at UFC 175

Chris Camozzi was getting close to the top of the middleweight division with four straight wins in the UFC, but a pair of losses pushed him down the ladder. The American will try to return to the win column on July 5, as he takes on Brazilian middleweight Bruno Santos at UFC 175 .
