UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Miocic – Winners and losers

Mark Hunt looked absolutely terrible for the entire duration of his main event bout against Stipe Miocic. Apart from his opponent's sound strategy to keep Hunt's back on the canvas, the New Zealand native looked lost even when he was given openings during striking exchanges. In short, Hunt was underprepared, seemingly out of shape and it was evidently clear on the broadcast as he was battered for over 22 minutes.

Day of the Dead (Deluxe Version) by Hollywood Undead

The six men of Hollywood Undead got famous by making hard-slamming rap-metal. Their fourth album is as muscular and raw-boned as ever, but they’ve injected more pop and shout-along choruses. The doomsday melody of “How We Roll” recalls Linkin Park but raps of modern-day L.A., detailing its sleazy underbelly where “packing heat” is essential. The title track calls out ugly TV evangelists who rob their congregations, and “War Child” vacillates among heady dance grooves, hypnotic melodies, and a searing rap of male insecurity. “I’ll Be There” is a pure pop left turn that surprises in a beguiling way.

The Veneration and Worship of Felines in Ancient Egypt

What must be understood in light of the humans' intense affection for cats is that the animals were not considered divine themselves.  There are records that they might have been akin to demi-gods, but they were primarily thought of as bodily representations of the feline gods.  Because of this, cats were protected for reasons beyond just their vermin-killing capabilities.  To harm a cat was to attempt harm to a god, and that was entirely out of the question in ancient Egypt.  Killing a cat was punishable by death a certain period of Egyptian history, whether intentional or not.  Diodorus, one of the most well-read historians from the ancient world, records an incident in which a Roman accidentally slaughtered a cat, and he suffered the same punishment as the people of Egypt would.

What It's Like to Be a Mom Who's a Pro MMA Fighter

I have my little one, so I'm getting up and getting her ready for daycare, although sometimes she comes with me to practice. She loves to come to the gym. Usually, though, I take her to daycare and then I go to the gym. In the morning, it's usually MMA sparring, kickboxing, or rough play. We do that for about an hour and a half. I head home, clean up, and do mommy stuff. Then I have an hour of strength and conditioning. Depending on the day, it could be lifting or more cardio-based. I pick up the little one from daycare, go home, cook dinner, and then it's off to either jujutsu practice or bag work. When I'm in town, I'm training three times a day, five days a week. I'll take one day completely off and then do a sprint workout where I run into the mountains on the other day.

Matches to Make After UFC Fight Night ‘Hunt vs. Miocic’

This was not easy to watch. Stipe Miocic laid waste to 2001 K-1 World Grand Prix winner Mark Hunt , capping a dominant performance with a fifth-round technical knockout in the UFC Fight Night “Hunt vs. Miocic” main event on Saturday at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia. In what will go in the books as a beatdown of historic proportions, Miocic sealed the beloved Kiwi’s fate with one final burst of ground-and-pound 2:47 into round five. The fight was never competitive, and the eye-popping statistical data it generated tells the tale. Miocic outstruck “The Super Samoan” by a staggering 361-46 margin in total strikes -- the most lopsided strike differential in Ultimate Fighting Championship history, according to UFC President Dana White. The 361 strikes landed also set an all-time record for a single fight, surpassing the mark set by Chael Sonnen (320) in his submission loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 117 in August 2010. Per FightMetric, Miocic out-landed Hunt 125-6 in the third round, 62-7 in the fourth and 70-0 in the fifth.

Chael Sonnen on May/Pac: I think the PPV numbers are grossly embellished

Mayweather vs Pacquiao Numbers I think the number of pay-per-views they've sold is grossly embellished. I was watching Fox News, which is supposed to be a real news channel, and I respect them, but they advertised that Pacquiao's shorts alone were worth $250M. A quarter of a billion dollars! His six sponsors put up $40M per patch? Those are all publicly traded companies. If one CEO signed off on that he would not only be removed, but he would be placed in prison, and that's where his dumb ass would belong. The number of pay-per-views they did is great, but they're grossly lying about it. The pay-per-view was sold through public companies like DirecTV, we can check the goddamn numbers. You don't need to just believe they sold 3 and a half million pay-per-views, cause they didn't.

Glory 21 results and gifs: Simon Marcus & Artem Levin battle to a controversial draw

Glory 21 is done, and what started off as a card with very little hype ended up being a quality event overall. The main event was the big selling point, featuring a rematch between Artem Levin and Simon Marcus. Marcus had won their first fight under Muay Thai rules, and conventional wisdom was that here, under Glory rules, Levin would even the score. The end result was a hard fought fight that ended up a majority draw.

Canelo's KO over Kirkland brings boxing a step closer to Miguel Cotto PPV blockbuster

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican will defend his WBC Middleweight (160 lbs) belt against Australia's Daniel Geale on June 6th at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. If Cotto (39-4, 32 KOs) bests Geale, the stars would be nearly aligned for a new installment of the longstanding rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico. There has been plenty of recent criticism of Cotto, mainly due to his inactivity after beating Sergio Martinez last June, followed by his decision to leave Top Rank and join Jay-Z's Roc Nation, and the underwhelming opponents list in lieu of a fight with Canelo or the undefeated #1 ranked middleweight Gennady Golovkin. Talks of Canelo-Cotto had broken down earlier in the year  due to Cotto's team failing to agree to terms .

UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Miocic staff picks and predictions

The Bloody Elbow staff has submitted its predictions for UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Miocic, and the consensus is that Stipe Miocic will spoil Mark Hunt's return to Australia tomorrow. It's slightly different in the co-main event where it's split evenly between picking Brad Tavares or Robert Whittaker. We do have a clean sweep for Anthony Perosh to beat Sean O'Connell.

47
The three stars of 'UFC Fight Night 65: Hunt vs. Miocic' in Australia

Whittaker is now 2-0 since he moved up to the UFC middleweight and has looked sharper than ever in the process. Many fighters in the sport cut too much weight but are hesitant to move up a division in fear of sacrificing physical tools. Whittaker went for it, though, and the results tell the tale. He’s 2-0 with two knockout wins and two fight-night bonuses.

48
Judge who didn't award any 10-8s in Miocic vs. Hunt also didn't do so for Bader vs. Perosh

The scorecards of the Stipe Miocic vs. Mark Hunt massacre from yesterday's UFC Fight Night main event in Australia weren't needed because of the 5th round stoppage, but there was one incredibly awful card turned in by judge Anthony Dimitriou that once again highlights MMA's problem of failing to appropriately score 10-8 rounds when it's clear as day. While Charlie Keech gave Miocic two 10-8s (rounds 3 and 4) and Barry Foley awarded one (for round 3), Dimitriou somehow had it 40-36 Miocic. That's right, Dimitriou gave four 10-9s in what was statistically the most lopsided five-round fight in UFC history.

Joe Rogan and Friends

“One of the most complex and exciting stand-ups working in America today.  Like an idealistic hippy stuck inside the body of a testosterone-pumped US marine.  He’s been likened to late great US comedians such as Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison, but although he exhibits a similar brand of furious indignation, his observations and revelations are entirely his own.  His angry, insightful act is an absorbing battle between his raw libertarian instincts and his refined liberal sensibilities.”   -- William Cook, The Guardian   A standup comedian for more than 20 years, Joe Rogan sells out theaters internationally with his inquisitive and intense comedic style. His comedy special “Joe Rogan: Live from the Tabernacle” was released in December 2012 via his website.
