FanSided's Cage Pages published the video on Monday. The blurry, 14-second video clip shows the former Invicta Fighting Championships and Strikeforce women's featherweight champ in a verbal altercation with Magana during the UFC's Athlete Retreat in Las Vegas, then landing a right hand to Magana's face before the situation is broken up. The 31-year-old Justino was reportedly upset over Magana's recent jabs at her on social media, including a Twitter post in which a picture of Cyborg alongside child cancer patients in a hospital was put alongside a screenshot of villainous horror movie mascot Jigsaw from the “Saw” franchise. The Ultimate Fighting Championship has not yet determined the course of action it will take regarding the incident where Cristiane Justino punched Angela Magana at the promotion’s UFC Athlete Retreat on May 21. “Obviously, we’re looking into that and it’s very serious,” UFC President Dana White told assembled media at “The Ultimate Fighter 26” tryouts. “We’ll see what happens. This is the thing that the district attorney and the police are handling right now. There’s way more to that than just what am I thinking about it.” “Cyborg” was cited for misdemeanor batter by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Monday and could be facing a six-month jail sentence and a $1,000 fine if the district attorney elects to pursue charges against her. Justino initially confronted Magana this past Sunday because of a feud between the two fighters that began on social media where Magana attempted to compare “Cyborg” to the Jigsaw character from the “Saw” movie franchise. Justino addressed the situation in a lengthy statement criticizing the culture of the UFC on her Facebook account Monday evening.

While no official announcement has been made, sources have told FOX Sports that UFC 215 in August will likely take place in Seattle, which is Johnson’s hometown. It has become impossible to ignore Angela Lee ’s rise under the One Championship banner over the last 12 months. One of the faces of the Singapore-based promotion, the 20-year-old has taken life as champion in stride since she captured the atomweight title in an epic five-round thriller against Mei Yamaguchi in May 2016. A little more than a year later, the undefeated Lee looks to defend her crown for the second time at One Championship “Dynasty of Heroes,” where she meets Istela Nunes de Souza this Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Despite the fact that she struck Jenny Huang into submission in her most recent appearance just two months ago, the champion seems comfortable with the quick turnaround. “I’m very excited to get back in there after my first title defense two months ago,” Lee told Sherdog.com. “At the beginning of my career, I was used to competing back to back. This has been a really great camp for me. That quest can prove to be more elusive in an individual sport like MMA than in a major league team sport with a season that builds each year towards a playoff tournament with one winner. Boxing is a clear example of that issue, with multiple champions at every weight class and no guarantees they’ll ever fight each other. In mixed martial arts, proving yourself to be the best has been a much simpler proposition over the past decade: You become UFC champion. As Bellator MMA invests more heavily in the sport, it seeks to challenge that paradigm. Life after fighting seems to be going pretty well for Cathal Pendred . According to a report from Deadline , the retired former UFC welterweight has landed a lead role in the Amazon series “Lore,” which is an adaptation of a podcast that “recounts true stories of frightening and paranormal occurrences.” Pendred will play Michael Cleary, “a real-life character from Irish folklore in the horror anthology series.” Cleary is “a cooper who makes barrels for a local creamery, [and] is married to the younger Bridget. When Bridget starts making more money than he does, and starts questioning his decisions, Michael is convinced that his loving wife has been replaced by a changeling — and he will do literally anything to prove himself right.” Pendred, who retired from the UFC in 2015, has also appeared on TV series “Into the Badlands” and Ray Donovan” in smaller roles and he is also expected to have a supporting part in the upcoming biopic “My Name is Lenny.” The Irishman elected to call it a career after dropping back-to-back fights to Tom Breese and John Howard in 2015.

With Mayweather promoting his world champion fighter Gervonta Davis over the weekend in the title boxing match against Liam Walsh, a lot of buzz still surrounded Mayweather’s anticipated return to the boxing ring. Last July, former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate was gearing up for UFC 200. When the former champion stepped up the the stage for her weigh-ins and undressed to enter the scale, Joe Rogan appeared to be averting his gaze with serious determination.

The UFC recently implemented a new female weight division into its ranks. The 145 pound featherweight division is a new edition to the mixed martial arts promotion, with Germaine de Randamie as the division’s champion. However, a new rumor suggests the division may be no more. As reported by Middle Easy, the news source stated “Rumors are surfacing over the past weeks that UFC is already in talks of getting rid of the women’s 145-pound division and belt. As crazy at seems the promotion sources say the UFC may pause (or flat out delete) the division so they can focus more attention on the newly formed female 125 pound weight class.” The UFC’s 125 pound female weight class will be debuted in the UFC’s next season of The Ultimate Fighter. The victor of the season will be declared the UFC flyweight champion.

Whether Maia takes him down or he takes Maia down, if it hits the ground it’s over for GSP. GSP could win a decision if Maia just runs and flops for 5 rounds, but that would make for a horrible fight. Stop remembering GSP in his prime and thinking that he is that guy now, he’s not. He is back for one reason only, thanks to the bar being raised by McGregor he can command far more money for a fight than he made before. I expect win or lose, GSP will cash his check and go right back into retirement. He doesn’t have the hunger to prove he’s the best.
