EA Resurrects Bruce Lee for New UFC Game Release

There are actually four different Bruce Lees in the game at four different weight classes (there are eight classes in the game). "When he was shredded, and filming a movie, he might be 135 lbs," Hayes says. He’ll also fight at 145 lbs, 155 lbs, and 159 lbs. Each will react, play, and punch a little bit differently. Ambient animations – say, Lee’s leg lifts and head taunts – are the biggest visual cues for his personal style. EA hired actors to imitate and mo-cap these actions and vocalizations: "He does have a lot of flare, a lot of recognizable moves, so it's easier to animate that," Hayes says.

Searching for Future Champions: MMA's Top 25 Prospects, #10 - Sheymon Moraes

Moraes would become the best striker in the UFC's bantamweight division the moment he signed the contract. The same thing is true of Marlon Moraes, whom I profiled previously, but Sheymon's striking is a full order of magnitude more advanced than Marlon's. Moraes has fight-ending power in nearly every strike, but he accomplishes this without visibly loading up, and the speed and technique with which he covers distance and throws shots is something to behold. I've seen him compared to Jose Aldo, and it's a pretty apt analogy. So how do you describe the guy who can do everything on the feet? The best thing to say is that he has a few notable tendencies. First, he loves to dig to the body, both with a nasty left hook and a brutal left kick. Second, his combinations are quite fluid, and he's capable of throwing both moving forward and with excellent timing on his counters. Third, he likes to use his round kicks to move his opponents into follow-up strikes as they try to move laterally. Fourth, like many Thai stylists, he's perfectly willing to take a shot to give a harder and cleaner one back.

Drones kill innocent people in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia every week. Extensive and accurate reports about these killings are rare. In most cases, few journalists or mainstream media outlets know or care about the victims’ identities. Pros Picks: Barao vs. Dillashaw

Can T.J. Dillashaw spring the upset? | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Renan Barao looks unstoppable. Barao will defend the Ultimate Fighting Championship bantamweight title against Team Alpha Male ’s T.J. Dillashaw in the UFC 173 headliner on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old champion will enter the cage on the strength of a 22-fight winning streak. Spawned by the revered Nova Uniao camp, Barao has compiled a perfect 7-0 record since arriving in the UFC in May 2011. The gifted Brazilian last appeared at UFC 169 in February, when he stopped Dillashaw’s mentor, Urijah Faber , on first-round punches. Barao has delivered 22 of his 32 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission. A finalist on Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Dillashaw has won five of his last six bouts, a disputed decision loss to Raphael Assuncao the lone misstep. The 28-year-old last fought at UFC Fight Night “Rockhold vs. Philippou” in January, when he captured a unanimous verdict over Mike Easton .

Gaps in the Armor: How to beat Renan Barao

It's been pointed out many times before, by many different analysts, that Barao has a tendency to get reckless and brawl. Normally, the assumption is that this indicates a lack of discipline on the champion's part, however it doesn't actually appear that Barao slugs it out for lack of self control. Rather, Barao brawls to prove to his opponent that he can. With power and speed in both hands and feet, a frenzied burst of offense is usually more than enough to convince an opponent to back off. Case in point: Pickett's work rate in the fight referenced above slowed with every Barao counter, until the Englishman ended up waiting around in front of his opponent, where Barao was able to time him and set him up for a knee that led to the finish.

Writer Vs Fighter UFC 173 by @AdamMartinShow

The co-main event again represented by two hungry fighters, but this time two light heavyweights who feel they should be next in line for the 205lb title and champion Jon Jones. Some may say Dan Henderson is past his prime or if you watch his last fight (KO win over Shogun Rua), we may be looking at a new, refreshed forty three year old “Hendo”. Bellator and Provincial Fighting Championships veteran Kyle Prepolec believes we are going to see the “Hendo” of his prime come UFC 173.

Dan Henderson: H-Bomb Testing Resumes at UFC 173

What more can be said about Dan Henderson? The former Olympian and knockout artist extraordinaire has logged one of the most impressive careers in the history of mixed martial arts and built a resume lined with some of the best names to ever compete, with a stack of championship belts from multiple organizations earned along the way. The Temecula, CA resident has also built a historic highlight reel where he’s felled a collective of dangerous opponents, often times in amazingly brutal and abrupt fashion. When his signature “H-Bomb” connects, grown and capable men go to sleep and their fit frames go stiff against their will. This particular ending has been repeated time and time again, and Henderson continuing to do so at 43 years of age shows that he just may be putting that dynamite right hand on Father Time’s jaw as well. || UFC EMBEDDED: Watch Hendo and Cormier on new vlog series. || The most recent example of “Hendo’s” power came in a situation where he needed it the most. The former two-division PRIDE champion had come out on the losing end of three consecutive bouts for the first time in his storied career and his back was up against the proverbial wall.

Arianny Celeste enjoys dinner date at same venue as Dana White in Las Vegas on UFC Weekend

When it comes to UFC, most people tend to focus on the blood and gore of the fighters beating one another to a pulp inside the Octagon, with many people cheering on their favourite UFC fighters. However, it is not just the fighters that make UFC such an interesting sport, as the UFC Octagon Girls are also worth the entry fee alone, especially the beautiful Arianny Celeste . Arianny Celeste with Dana White at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse Many would consider Arianny Celeste to be the top most UFC Octagon Girl and it is easy to see why. Arianny has seen herself become a household name thanks to her Octagon Girl status and her modelling work and we simply cannot get enough of this gorgeous woman. Arianny Celeste was recently spotted letting her hair down and having a bit of fun in Las Vegas the night before weighins for the annual Memorial Day weekend UFC event. Arianny was making the most of some well earned free time before work goes into full swing. While in Las Vegas, Arianny was spotted having dinner at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse inside The D Casino hotel in downtown Las Vegas at the same time as one of the biggest and most important names in UFC, President Dana White.

The Only TV Show That Doesn't Stereotype My Country

The other reason, I think, is that Russian would be insanely difficult for non-native actors to master. Occasionally American friends will ask me to "teach them some Russian." If we can make it past the mouthful that is "hello" ("zdravstvuyte"), we might move on to "please" ("pozhalusta"), which in Cyrillic includes a letter that looks like a spider and sounds like the noise you make when you slip on some ice. This is usually where we give up and thank God that English doesn't have three types of noun declension.

http://www.cagepotato.com/ufc-signee-dashon-johnson-xplode-fight-series-and-the-practice-of-padding-records-to-produce-talent/

Unfortunately, it would appear that Johnson is not the only Xplode MMA fighter who has received, let’s call it favorable treatment, while fighting for Xplode. You see, Xplode Fight Series is less in the MMA business than they are the squash match business — one look over the fighters in their stable reveals more padded records than I care to count and more tomato cans than an Andy Warhol painting. Essentially, Xplode MMA/Fight Series is setting up their “premiere” fighters against nobodies in the hopes that they will be signed by the UFC for a regional level show, which their management company will then presumably profit from. It takes “conflict of interest” to an entirely different level.

30 UFC 173 results, photos: Sam Sicilia grinds out Aaron Phillips

Throughout the second and third rounds, Phillips tried for chokes and armbars off his back, which only gave Sicilia the openings he needed to advance his position and dominate from the top with short strikes that gradually wore Phillips down. Phillips’ coaches let him know that he needed a finish in the final frame, but when a desperate guillotine choke failed in the waning seconds of the bout, even Phillips seemed to see the writing on the wall.

We really wish we had more to say about this week’s Martial Arts Fail , PotatoNation (which, by the way, was submitted to us by one Rob Harris. Thanks, Rob!). But the video and the headline sort of speak for themselves. It’s a ninja who happens to be a witch, a pagan, and an escort (according to her extremely NSFW twitter ). In the above video she does some cool ninja moves of dubious real life effectiveness and teaches you how to make a smokescreen.

UFC 173 undercard live blog: Chiesa vs. Trinaldo, more

UFC 173 official results: Chris Holdsworth def. Chico Camus via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Tony Ferguson vs. Katsunori Kikuno Round 1: Kikuno out in very unorthodox stance, and Ferguson moves in. Ferguson eating punches right off, getting punished for early aggression. They exchange again, and that time Ferguson got better of it. Good kick from Ferguson, and now a beautiful punch that backs him up. Ferguson moving forward, lunging forward throwing bombs, and he lands a couple as they crash in the fence. Kikuno is hurt. Kikuno is hurt. Kikuno with his arms down at his side, bleeding out of his nose. Ferguson pushes him to the fence, and tries to throw inside, but they separate. Ferguson landing range shots, strafing from distance and Kikuno has nothing for it. He eats a small succession of those, and now Ferguson dumps him to the ground. They are rolling, and Ferguson tries to peel off his arm for an armbar, and gives it up for the D'arce. He locks it in, and walks his feet on wall for leverage, but can't get it. Back to the feet. Boom! Ferguson lands a huge right hand right to the black spot, and Kikuno goes straight backwards.

She's getting one now, though, and that's all that matters. It's official, Megumi Fujii has the cutest cats in MMA

Everyday I come home from work I go through the same routine. Take off my shoes, say hi to whoever is home, slip into something a little more comfortable and get a drink. By this time, my cat Tardy, who refuses to ever leave the basement heard my voice. She then begins to sit at the bottom of the stairs and begins to cry. Few things make me feel as bad as this, I haven't even had my drink yet and I can hear her crying. It does however make me happy that I know that I have someone that truly cares about me and who I am as a person. Not a lot of people can say that they have that but I'm lucky enough to be able to. It's a feeling that one can't begin to describe, it's just something something that you need to experience yourself.

Science News - Science Articles and Current Events | Digital Earthworm: Scientists to Create Wormholes for Photons to Travel Through Time

Science fiction has come up with some cool things before, but out of all of them, time travel is up there as one of the coolest concepts to be thought of. Unfortunately, the nature of reality, along with the laws of physics doesn't allow us the opportunity of jumping into a wormhole and blasting into the future or past. But the same can't be said for photons. A paper has been written by a scientist from the University of Cambridge named Luke Butcher, where he describes a potential structure of a wormhole that could be remained open for long enough to let a photon to travel through it. This paper is submitted to Physical Review D journal and is published on the following site in an open access format: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1405.1283v1.pdf The first suggestion of wormholes ( http://www.space.com/20881-wormholes.html ) came from the great Albert Einstein himself in 1935 alongside Nathan Rosen. Essentially, a wormhole is a hypothetical passageway that is similar to a whirlpool and would allow a daring trekker to break out of the limitations in the space-time continuum. A wormhole could potentially be an entrance to a parallel universe or it could bend through the fabric of the universe as we know it and end up at a different point of the cosmos in another time and area.

UFC 173 fight card: What's at stake?

At stake: putting Johny Hendricks on notice . I'd argue there's still an unofficial welterweight tournament going on to see who is next for champion Johny Hendricks. On one side there's Tyron Woodley vs. Rory MacDonald . On the other is this bout. The winners of those two bouts could face each other and then Hendricks depending on timeline. Or, more likely, the winner who looks the most impressive and is the easiest to sell gets Bigg Rigg next. That's why these stakes are so noteworthy. It isn't merely that one must win, a challenging enough tough task as it is. The method of the win must be dominant such that promoting the winner has to be an almost turnkey affair. This has to be hand in glove, as much as possible, anyway. The winner needs to look like someone they can push as the guy who can beat the hirsute gentleman wearing the belt, which is no automatic thing, but given the type of talent being pitted against one another, certainly doable.

UFC 173 Factgrinder: The Wrestling of T.J. Dillashaw

Sadly, when it came time for his senior season's stretch run, the wheels totally fell off. In March of 2009, whether due to exhaustion, injury or bad luck, the version of Dillashaw that took the mat did not resemble the nationally recognized wrestler that had achieved so much in the previous five months. At the 2009 Pac-10 championships, Dillashaw entered as the second seed, but after losing to three opponents he had beaten earlier in the year, finished in an ultra-disappointing sixth place and out of automatic qualification for the NCAA tournament. While he would receive an at-large berth to NCAAs, his poor performance in his conference tournament cost him the protection of a seed at nationals.
