Chael Sonnen admits to taking banned substances, calls positive test 'confusing'

"What happens is they do out-of-competition testing, and the lab that they went to is the USADA [United States Anti-Doping Agency] lab. Now the USADA lab is the greatest lab in the world. It's a very sensitive test. We had done our own tests, at our own labs, and we thought that everything was out of the system. These were not secrets that I took this stuff. This is what you have to take when you're coming off testosterone. But any rate, it was picked up on their test. Now they can handle that however they want. They can look at that and go, Yeah, this makes sense to us, or they can say, You know what? We don't like this. And they can do either one. They're the commission. I just got to be a reactor and live with it. The confusing part is for a non-anabolic, non-steroid, non-performance enhancing agent that is perfectly legal that I need for a healthy life, essentially they're saying you gotta choose between health and sport.

Sonnen fails drug test, out of UFC 175 bout

"When it went away, they didn't do a very good job of figuring out how to get these guys off it. When you get off it, you don't just go cold turkey. If they don't take estrogen blockers, you can have side effects. Chael Sonnen is at this point in his life, in his career, where he got married and is trying to have a children. He's on medicine to get fertile. His wife is pregnant, so it worked. This is between Chael and the commission, but the rules should have been laid out better when they said it's over."

FD Cardio 4 Leanness (Athlete)

Hi, my name is SGT Ryan Casperson, I am Active duty Army stationed at Fort Drum, NY. I've been following Pauline and her Fighter Diet concept for the better part of 2 years now. At first I was skeptical like I am about all fitness related mentors, but after following Pauline on Facebook and watching her interact with people and seeing her no bullshit attitude, as well as her attention to detail in everything she does, I knew from that she was the REAL DEAL. I've been using Fighter Diets " Cardio 4 Leanness" ebook recently, and let me tell you, in the Army we run about 5-6 miles every other day and I can run 2 miles in14:30 minutes but none of that has broke me off as hard as this concept has. I look forward to continuing to use her as a tool in my fitness and can't wait for more results!

Women Take To The Streets Wearing Menstrual Blood Stains

By making a public display of their shedding uterine linings, the group hopes to reclaim the female body and free normal bodily functions from shame and judgement. Since the earliest books of the bible and before, menstruation has been viewed as unclean, and often women have even been kept separate from men during their periods. Sangre Menstrual, whose name literally translates to “menstrual blood,” intends to change all that. In their manifesto, the group of women write, “I stain [my pants], and it doesn’t make me sick. I stain [my pants] and I don’t find it disgusting.”

Report: Chael Sonnen Out of UFC 175 Following Failed Random Drug Test

Chael Sonnen has found himself in hot water again. | Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Less than one month out from UFC 175 , Chael Sonnen has reportedly failed a random drug test administered in the state of Nevada and will no longer fight Vitor Belfort . Nevada Athletic Commission Chairman Francisco Aguilar confirmed the report to ESPN.com on Tuesday. The article also adds that Ultimate Fighting Championship officials have acknowledged the failed test. The NAC reportedly tested Sonnen last month during a stint in Las Vegas, when the “UFC Tonight” analyst was set to attend a UFC press conference. The reported results from the failed test show that Sonnen tested positive for two illegal substances: Anastrozole, which is typically utilized to treat and prevent early stages of breast cancer, and Clomiphene, which is mainly used for cases involving female infertility. It is likely that Sonnen will face a suspension for the failed test; whether the punishment comes from Zuffa or the NAC has yet to be seen. This is not the first time Sonnen has faced troubles involving failed drug screenings, In 2010, the self-proclaimed “American Gangster” tested positive for elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone levels before a UFC middleweight title fight against Anderson Silva .

http://www.cagepotato.com/breaking-chael-sonnen-fails-random-drug-test-will-not-fight-vitor-belfort-at-ufc-175/

From the information we have, it appears that Sonnen was trying to get his body’s testosterone production back to normal, and couldn’t quite do it without some extra help. (Perhaps getting off TRT cold-turkey and returning to fighting shape so quickly was an impossible task in the first place.) A forced time-out might be the best thing for Sonnen’s health at this point; then again, it could also signal the end of his career. The question is, will Vitor Belfort remain on the UFC 175 card? And if so, against who?

The Savage Truth: Same Old (Sad) Story

Ross Pearson was robbed in the eyes of many. | Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Getty Images Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Two fighters walk into a cage. Everyone knows and loves the first guy, and rightfully so. The other is a better all-around fighter, though less popular or, should I say, less recognizable. The athletes put on a show for 15 or 25 minutes -- whatever you prefer -- and, after a one-sided performance, the more familiar fighter gets the nod from the judges. Oh, you’ve heard this one? I guess everyone here is a pretty dedicated MMA fan, so I shouldn’t be surprised. Oh, you’re here because of our new boxing coverage? Change the 15 or 25 minutes to 30 or 36 minutes, and it’s a pretty common narrative, too, I imagine. So how did we come to a place where Ross Pearson ’s dominant win over “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 1 winner Diego Sanchez on Saturday could remarkably turn into a split decision loss for “The Real Deal” in an Ultimate Fighting Championship co-main event? Incompetence. No need to be schooled in Aristotelian philosophy to understand that there was fourth judge on the grassy knoll or that UFC President Dana White really, really, really wanted Sanchez to win or any of the other nonsense that splatted my inbox and Twitter feed in the hours following the -- hell, let’s call a spade a spade -- atrocious-by-any-standard decision.

Lion Fight is set to continue its expansion across North America as it has reached a new multi-year deal with Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Ryan Bader: The Machine

Wrestlers have a unique name for the fitness phenomenon known as CrossFit. They simply like to call it wrestling practice. For over fifty years, amateur wrestlers, whether they be high school, collegiate or Olympic champions, have been training for explosive power in short bursts, so that they can go all out for three, two minute periods in which their bodies and minds are put to a test most other athletes would fail. It’s no wonder then that wrestlers have been among the most successful fighters inside the Octagon. “This camp I’ve put down a lot of cardio markers,” says Ryan Bader, who faces former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Rafael “Feijao” Calvalcante (12-4-0) in the co-main event at UFC 174 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday. Bader, a former Arizona State wrestler, sounds more scientist than fighter. “Treadmill sprints, for instance. We look at what kind of inclines I hit, and then the speed for those inclines, or my distance sprints, my best 400 meters time, sparring markers, for time and explosiveness, and I’ve surpassed all those markers in this camp, and that means I’m in shape.

Jessamyn Duke-Leslie Smith Booked for UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City

Jessamyn Duke will try to get back on track next month in New Jersey. | Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Jessamyn Duke and Leslie Smith are set to add some women’s bantamweight flair to UFC Fight Night “Cerrone vs. Miller” on July 16. Ultimate Fighting Championship officials Tuesday announced the bout, which will take place at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., on a card headlined by lightweights Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller . For Duke, the tilt will serve as a chance to push her record to 2-1 since competing on “The Ultimate Fighter 18.” The Glendale Fighting Club team member last saw action at UFC 172, where she was outpointed by Bethe Correia . Smith will enter the Octagon for the first time since debuting on short notice against Sarah Kaufman at “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations” finale in April. The Northern California native challenged for Invicta Fighting Championship’s flyweight title previously, losing to Barb Honchak via decision.

UFC fight bookings roundup: 6/4-6/11

Since the UFC has decided to produce 50+ events in 2014, there is a remarkable amount of fighter signings and new match-ups being set up throughout any given week. Many of these new signings are for match-ups that take place on the undercard, or on the Fight Pass portion of a PPV, so we are going to continue with a new weekly (or bi-weekly if needed) series of articles where we take a brief look at each and every bout booked by the promotion in one place.

Why Matt Brown isn't worried about MacDonald-Woodley cutting title line

Typically when multiple title-worthy contenders present themselves in a weight class, the UFC will base its decision on performances inside the octagon. And while MacDonald (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Woodley (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) are hoping for the type of showing that will force the powers that be to reconsider, Brown said he isn’t concerned with being passed over by anyone.

Tyron Woodley: Title shots need consistency and a rubric for MMA to become more of a sport

"I think that Matt Brown is a tough guy. I like watching him. He comes for blood and you can never count him out. Brendan habitually mispronouncing every major UFC fighter's name on the roster is a nice touch, too. I also want to hear more about Bryan's mad greco skills. I think he should do each episode shirtless.

Hog Hitmen | Tyler, TX

We have found that we can be very effective at eliminating hogs because of our high-tech weapons, scopes and thermal imaging equipment. The weapons are suppressed, which is good on your ears and the ears of the surrounding property owners. Many ranchers also appreciate the fact that we have a lot of success calling and eliminating coyotes from their property.

Miesha Tate defends Bryan Caraway's fish-hook at UFC Fight Night: Albuquerque

All you idiots running your mouths about bryan FINISHING his fight via fishhook need to be slapped! First of all he accidentally fish hooked Goyo IN THE FIRST ROUND AND FINISHED THE FIGHT CLEAN IN THE 2nd ROUND!!!!!! Completely unrelated!! Furthermore you can 100% tell the fishhook was an accident BC goyo was able to TURN AWAY from the fishhook which means Bryan had absolutely NO pressure on it aka HE WASNT TRYING TO USE IT OR HE WOULD HAVE RIPPED GOYOS FACE TO THE LEFT INSTEAD OF WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED WHERE GOYO TURNED AWAY FROM THE FISHHOOK TO THE RIGHT. and SHAME on Bjpenn. com for a misleading title implying the fishhook had anything to do with the finish. Lastly, GOYO confirmed he DIDNT even realize the fishhook had happened which also confirms there was NO pressure on it or he would have known it had happened. Show me where the "Fishhook" is in the finish? Ya that's what I thought
