Reports: Michael Page to Make Sophomore Boxing Appearance on June 15 in England

Just three weeks after scoring a second-round stoppage of David Rickels at Bellator 200, flamboyant British striker will compete in his second boxing match at York Hall in London on June 15. first reported the news, and’s Chamatkar Sandhu confirmed the booking with event promoter David Haye. Page does not yet have an opponent for the card. The 31-year-old Page made his professional boxing debut in October 2017 with a third-round technical knockout victory over Jonathan Castano in Greenwich, England. Page’s opponent fell to 2-12-1 with that defeat. Meanwhile, Page’s win over Rickels on May 25 was his first MMA appearance since taking a split verdict against Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 165 on Nov. 19, 2016. “Venom” is 13-0 in his MMA career, with all but two of his triumphs coming inside the distance.

Gregor Gillespie Not a Fan of Callouts Following a Win: ‘It’s Silly for Me to Do That’

As so often happens when a fighter earns a big victory in the Octagon, Gregor Gillespie was prompted to make a callout in his post-fight interview at UFC Fight Night Utica on Friday. The four-time NCAA All-American wrestler from Edinboro University declined to make use of the platform after earning his fifth consecutive UFC triumph, a second-round submission of Vinc Pichel in the evening’s co-main event. Instead, as he so often does, Gillespie talked about fishing. “I don’t call people out. It’s not what I do,” Gillespie said in his post-fight interview. “ All I’m thinking about right now is fishing tomorrow and fishing the next day. I’ll be fishing until my training partner fights at Madison Square Garden next week and then I’m going to go and support him. I also don’t worry about winning streaks because guess what, if I lose what good is that winning streak? Some people have suggested my next fight should be at MSG but I like fighting away from home. I like staying in a hotel with my training partners. It puts me the right mindset, just having fun and being a team.

True..but so does JDS, Hunt, Nelson and Werdum. All of whom either have similar level or better standup than Blaydes. Since Overeem changed his style, it's been hard to test his chin. Intriguing fight but I'm gonna have a flutter on the Reem just because he's the underdog.

UFC fighter Andrea Lee, husband Donny Aaron address Nazi tattoo controversy

Please read this and accept my most sincere apologies to all I have offended when the photos of my tattoos became public. I’d most like to apologize to Andrea and my brother Kendrik (both pictured) for putting them in a position to feel the need to defend me when there is no defense or justification for the abhorrent tattoos that I ashamedly wear. I’d also like to apologize to her employers at the UFC for bringing them shame and embarrassment. Not least of these I apologize to MMA fans world wide for giving the sport a temporary black eye and for offending so many of those who’ve supported us for years. And to all of the elite pro fighters I’ve been blessed to work with I pray this doesn’t change your opinion of me even through most of this groups know my story. Furthermore, I’d like to apologize to Andrea’s sponsors who were certainly blindsided by this as were many.

By the Numbers: UFC 225

The sequel was an instant classic. While Robert Whittaker outlasted Yoel Romero over five brutal rounds in the UFC 225 headliner on Saturday night, there were no losers in Chicago. Both combatants battled through adversity at various times to put on a memorable show, but it was reigning 185-pound king Whittaker who emerged with a contentious split-decision triumph. While “The Reaper” improved to 2-0 against his Cuban rival, nobody would complain if the middleweights squared off for a third time down the road. That, however, is a topic for another day. Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC 225, with statistics courtesy of Related » Matches to Make After UFC 225 9: Consecutive victories in the Octagon for Whittaker, the sixth-longest active winning streak in the UFC behind Demetrious Johnson (13), Georges St. Pierre (13), Max Holloway (12), Khabib Nurmagomedov (10) and Tony Ferguson (10). 239: Combined significant strikes landed by Whittaker (128) and Romero (111), a middleweight record for a five-round bout in the UFC.

From hospital bed, Yoel Romero declares 'I am the champ' after UFC 225

Romero fought much of the bout with significant swelling around his eyes, and to no one’s surprise, the 41-year-old was transported to a local hospital immediately after the fight. That didn’t stop Romero from further expressing his opinion, though, and he took to Instagram Live to share more thoughts on the outcome.

The Film Room: Yoel Romero

UFC 225 is now available on Amazon Prime . Yoel Romero will get another crack at Robert Whittaker -- this time with the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight title on the line -- when they meet in the UFC 225 main event on Saturday in Chicago. The 41-year-old Romero remains one of the elite athletes at 185 pounds and shows no signs of slowing down. The latest installment of The Film Room sheds light on the techniques and strategies of the 2000 Olympic silver medalist. One of the most revered and decorated amateur wrestlers of his generation, Romero has won various medals in international competition and holds the distinction as one of the few men ever to defeat the great Cael Sanderson. Even at an advanced age, his incredible strength and explosion makes him one of the scariest athletes in mixed martial arts. Although known for his wrestling, Romero rarely uses it in MMA. Perhaps wanting to show he is a well-rounded martial artist, Romero has chosen to strike with most of his opponents and only calls upon his wrestling when he fails to get the job done on the feet.

After ‘Miscommunication,’ Yair Rodriguez Says ‘UFC and I Are On the Best Terms Ever’

Just a week ago, Yair Rodriguez was getting ready to test the free agent waters. Now, his relationship with the UFC — which cut him for what it claims was a refusal to accept a fight — is seemingly better than ever. The tide began to change on Friday, when’s Brett Okamoto reported that the UFC had rescinded the termination of Rodriguez’s contract to set up a potential fight between the Mexican featherweight and Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC 228. On Saturday, Rodriguez released a statement explaining how things played out. The saga took a positive turn when “El Pantera” met with matchmaker Sean Shelby face-to-face over lunch. “I address to all my fans, friends and family for always [being] supportive of my career. As well I’ll like to thank all of those companies showing interest in my persona and work,” Rodriguez wrote. “Sean Shelby and I have a friend in common, Mario Delgado, he was the connection between us. He set up a meeting between Sean and I, where we had a friendly conversation during lunch on Friday.

Broken system? UFC early weigh-ins by the numbers two years later

MMA is still a growing and evolving sport with many problems – few of which have an easy fix. The numbers prove the early weigh-in system has not made it easier on fighters to hit their contracted limits, and unless there’s another radical change on the horizon, it’s a topic that won’t go away anytime soon.

Mike Jackson Defends Antics at UFC 225 After Being Blasted by UFC President Dana White

I hit him with punches and elbows and he stayed standing. I didn’t want to run in and get caught with dumb shit. Imagine being the guy who loses to CM Punk! — Mike Jackson, Esq. (@TheTruthJackson) June 10, 2018 Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White didn’t hold back when asked what he thought of the fight which kicked off the main card at UFC 225 on Saturday night featuring Phil Brooks -- better known as “CM Punk” -- and Mike Jackson . White had previously defended the decision to have Punk and Jackson included on the main card instead of the high-profile heavyweight match between Alistair Overeem and Chicago native Curtis Blaydes . White had stated that Punk’s inclusion was purely a business decision as the former World Wrestling Entertainment superstar has a greater pull when it comes to pay-per-view sales compared to the other fighters on the card. While Jackson easily won the fight, it was the manner of his win that drew the ire from White. Jackson was playing around with Punk as if he was mocking the former WWE star and the UFC president didn’t mince his words during the UFC 225 post-fight press conference.

Demetrious Johnson-Henry Cejudo Title Rematch to Co-Headline UFC 227

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced the Octagon return of the UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in a highly-anticipated rematch against top contender Henry Cejudo at UFC 227 in Los Angeles. Johnson first fought Cejudo at UFC 197 in Las Vegas in April 2016, where he defended his flyweight title by dropping the Olympic gold medalist with knees to the body in the first round. The loss represented Cejudo’s first defeat in his professional career. The world’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter is looking forward to his 12th title defense, after successfully breaking Anderson Silva ’s 10 title defense record this past October. He achieved it by defeating Ray Borg at UFC 216 via an impressive suplex-to-armbar submission in the fifth round. Cejudo is coming off back-to-back victories over Wilson Reis and Sergio Pettis to earn his second shot at the 125-pound title. The rematch will be the co-main event for UFC 227, which will take place on Aug. 4 at the Staples Center and is headlined by a bantamweight championship rematch between T.

Dana White Addresses Greg Hardy Controversy: ‘Everybody Deserves a Second Chance’

Me and coach @billypadden working harder, hitting harder, and moving faster. I’m still a young #padawan and have much to learn but I am hungry A post shared by GregHardyJr (@greghardyjr) on May 30, 2018 at 1:06pm PDT On Tuesday, troubled former NFL star Greg Hardy will get a shot at earning an Ultimate Fighting Championship contract when he faces Austen Lane on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. Hardy’s addition to the Series was controversial because of a checkered history with domestic violence. During his tenure in the NFL, Hardy was one of the top pass rushers in football, earning second-team all pro honors in 2013 with the Carolina Panthers after finishing with 15 sacks. However, in July 2014 Hardy was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and missed the majority of the season after being placed on the commissioner’s exempt list. He was sentenced to 18 months’ probation, but charges from the case were later dropped, and Hardy’s record was expunged. Hardy was suspended for the first 10 games of the 2015 season as well, but that was later reduced to four games by an arbitrator, and Hardy finished the campaign with the Dallas Cowboys, although he remained a controversial figure throughout the season.

Matches to Make After UFC 225

Whether you approach him with love, hate or indifference, Colby Covington has entered a new competitive stratosphere in the Ultimate Fighting Championship . The polarizing American Top Team standout executed repeated takedowns and captured the interim welterweight title with a five-round unanimous decision over Rafael dos Anjos in the UFC 225 co-headliner on Saturday at the United Center in Chicago. All three cageside judges scored it for Covington, awarding him marks of 49-46, 48-47 and 48-47. Covington took down Dos Anjos seven times in the 25-minute battle: twice in the first round, twice in the second, once in the fourth and twice more in the fifth. It provided the difference in a fight that was otherwise closely contested. According to FightMetric figures, the top-shelf welterweights split the striking categories. Covington outlanded his counterpart 142-130 in total strikes, while dos Anjos held a narrow 105-99 margin in significant strikes. In the aftermath of UFC 225 “Whittaker vs. Romero 2,” here are five matches that ought to be made: Related » UFC 225: By the Numbers Colby Covington vs.

UFC 225 weigh-in results: Yoel Romero barely misses, leaving main event in limbo

Among those weighing in were middleweight champion Robert Whittaker (19-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) and fellow headliner Yoel Romero (13-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC), as well as co-headliners Colby Covington (13-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and Rafael dos Anjos (28-9 MMA, 17-7 UFC), who fight for an interim welterweight title.

UFC 225 Bonuses: Whittaker, Romero Garner ‘Fight of the Night’ Honors for Classic Battle

No title was at stake in the UFC 225 headliner, but you wouldn’t have known it from the way Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero fought at the United Center on Saturday night. Whittaker and Romero received “Fight of the Night” honors for their five-round war. However, due to Romero missing weight, Whittaker received the full $100,000 instead of splitting it with his Cuban foe. In a bout filled with momentum swings, Whittaker held on for a split-decision triumph, surviving knockdowns from Romero in round three and five in the process. While “The Reaper” improved to 2-0 against Romero, a trilogy bout wouldn’t be surprising considering the competitive nature of their first two meetings. Elsewhere, Curtis Blaydes garnered a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check for his third-round technical knockout victory over former title challenger Alistair Overeem in a preliminary heavyweight clash. After controlling the contest through his wrestling, “Razor” Blaydes opened up and finished Overeem with a violent salvo of elbows at the 2:56 mark of the third round.

Ex-champ Rashad Evans, undecided on retirement, 'at peace' with KO loss

At one time FIGHTING was bigger than LIFE. Now LIFE is bigger than FIGHTING. It was easy to FIGHT for me because I came into this world raising hell FIGHTING. Then LIFE over time swaddled me like a parent does a screaming child and calmed me until I could see there was nothing to scream about. LIFE reveals to us all one day its beauty and its GRACE. Part of its beauty and GRACE is SURRENDER. Not SURRENDER in the way we think but a yielding nature that allows LIFE’S true beauty to be seen without non attachment. Only through non attachment can we truly see the beauty of LIFE and its random but beautiful balance. Our attachments in LIFE gives us the pain that make LIFE unbearable at times. Those attachments keeps us all pretending to some degree even though we are scared to death of what tomorrow can bring. I am at peace at what happened last night. I am a true FIGHTER at heart and there is no greater peace than when I get a chance to bare my soul for millions to see. 24 times I was successful and I experienced heights I never would’ve dreamed were possible and 8 times I came up short.

Dana White: CM Punk's UFC career over after loss to 'complete f-cking idiot' Mike Jackson

Mike Jackson and the Clash of the Entertainers

UFC 225 is now available on Amazon Prime . For a man approaching a pivotal moment in his fight career -- his UFC 225 clash with Phil Brooks , in Brooks’ hometown of Chicago, no less -- Mike Jackson gives the appearance of feeling little pressure. Well, that isn’t entirely true. Ensconced in a large leather power recliner at a cryotherapy center in Pearland, Texas, just south of Houston proper, both of Jackson’s legs are immobilized at the moment in inflatable compression sleeves. The toes that protrude from the far end of each black nylon sleeve, allowing the attendant to verify adequate blood flow, sport iridescent green nail polish. Never having used this particular facility’s compression therapy, Jackson was informed that the device had settings of increasing pressure, numbered one through seven. The attendant asked him how much pressure he wanted. “Let’s start on five and go up from there if we need,” Jackson said after a moment’s thought. For a compulsive over-thinker such as myself, it is tempting to draw clues about Jackson from that apparently offhanded response.

When History Rhymes

Bobby Gunn vs. Marcelo Tavares #BareKnuckleBoxing #BareKnuckleFC Fixed Yes or No? — ZombieProphet (@GIFsByZP) June 3, 2018 Editor’s note: The views and opinions expressed below are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of, its affiliates and sponsors or its parent company, Evolve Media. * * * “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” So goes the quote typically attributed to Mark Twain, though in reality there’s very little evidence of the fact. Regardless who said it, it’s still a good quote, full of wit and insight into how humanity collectively operates. It speaks to the uniqueness of situations, that the precise arrangement of variables that compose history rarely re-emerge in exact parallels, but if we squint a little, the rough shapes of historical events reappear in broad patterns. Yet the quote also speaks to our collective lack of imagination and our petty animal fate, that no matter what technological or social changes have occurred, we are still in some ways essentially the same as we’ve always been, destined to fall into the same stupid traps that people did in the past.

Watch Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship's biggest knockout

Not surprisingly, just three of the 10 bouts lasted a full five rounds. The shortest bout of the night also produced the biggest knockout as heavyweight Sam Shewmaker clocked ex-Bellator fighter Eric Prindle with a thunderous overhand right to knock him out in just 18 seconds.

Rafael Dos Anjos breaks silence following UFC 225

Hey guys. I want to thank you all for the messages and the support. I am a very competitive guy and I confess I never know how to handle defeat. I did my best inside the Octagon, I had the support of the best coaches in the world. The result was not mine, but nothing will make me give up. I am a challenge driven guy and this is just another one in my way. In 2014, after the fight against Khabib [Nurmagomedov], I worked very hard, and with God’s blessing, 11 months later I became the Lightweight champion. This time it won’t be any different. I got the chance to fight for the interim belt after only three fights in the welterweight division. My path in this weight class has just started. I know what I am capable of, I know what I can achieve. I won’t give up my dreams because of the first obstacle in this division. Now it’s time to see what did not work, improve, and get back to my path to the top. God knows everything. Bad guys win sometimes in real life, but at the end, the good guys always win. You can lose the battle, but never the war. Thank God I have the best friends and family I could ask for.
