UFC 174 results, photos: Ryan Bader cruises past ex-champ Rafael Cavalcante
“I thought he would come out more explosively in the first round, but he wasn’t able to turn it on until the third,” Bader said. “Going into this fight, I knew that I was going to have to put him against the fence and grind him out. ‘Feijao’ is one of the hardest hitters in the division and I wanted to take away that one-punch KO power. I had to make it an ugly fight tonight and wrestle him. I was able to stick to the game plan.”
UFC 174 Results: Rory MacDonald Befuddles Tyron Woodley, Cements His Postion as a Contender | MMAWeekly.com
Rory MacDonald and Tyron Woodley both entered UFC 174 on Saturday night in Vancouver knowing that a victory didn’t necessarily land the winner in a title fight next, but they both knew that the winner would be as close as you could get to a title shot without a guarantee.
UFC 174 results, photos: Andrei Arlovski gets questionable split vs. Brendan Schaub
“There has to be some sort of major change with these judges,” Schaub said. “I have no idea what they’re doing, but clearly they weren’t paying attention to the fight. I know Andrei’s a big star, and maybe they were swayed by the fans’ reaction. Look at the punch stats and statistics, then tell me that he won that fight. This started with the bad decision in the Diego Sanchez vs. Ross Pearson fight last week ( at UFC Fight Night 42 ), and I can’t believe it happened to me now. Maybe you can give Andrei the first round, but that’s it. The most significant strikes he landed on me were the two head butts. I don’t know what else to say.”

UFC 174 Results: Ryan Bader Dominates En Route to Unanimous Decision Over Rafael Feijao | MMAWeekly.com

UFC 174 winners Ryan Bader, Ovince Saint Preux interested in future matchup

Molecular Biologist Explains How THC Completely Kills Cancer Cells
I am a cancer survivor. I did natural supplements, alkaline diet, cannabis, and oriental medicine for one year, and it only got worse (I was already a vegan with a very anti-cancer diet). I tried the nasty chemical that Canadian researchers found effective in animals (DMC), and it DID lower my PSA but it also caused peripheral neuropathy (which I still have) and after a while, stalled out. So I had my prostrate removed, and my PSA tests since (7 yrs ago) have shown zero indications of cancer (most healthy people have much higher levels). You could say I was lucky tho I credit my plant-based diet and 50 years of cannabis use with keeping the cancer from spreading……tho I don’t know for sure.

Hemp In Sumo: The Yokozuna’s Ritual - Kannaway Magazine
He is accompanied by a senior Ior referee, and two attendants – the tsuruharain and tachimochi and one of them carries a sword. The rope on the yokozuna’s belt is made of braided hemp and weighs from 25 to 35 pounds and is ornamented in the front with zigzag-shaped strips of paper. This is a familiar religious symbol in Japan. It can be found hanging in Shinto shrines and in the home over the “shelf” of the gods where offering are made at New Year. After entrance, the yokozuna performs a ritual which consists of a clapping of hands to attract the attention of the gods, extending his arms outward with palms up to show that he carries no weapons, and a delicate raising of his leg and foot high on the side and stamping the foot onto the ground to drive out evil from the dohyo . This stamping action is usually accompanied by the audience yelling “Yoh” at the point of the foot hitting the ground.

UFC 174: Johnson vs. Bagautinov live fight blog
Analysis: Easton almost finished the damn thing in the opening seconds. That was his best sequence of the fight by far. He has lost four in a row and this might be it for him in the UFC. Jabouin is 35 and not really going anywhere at 135. But give him credit for a diversified attack. He has actually improved over the years.

The two battled it out for the better part of three round before Bang scored a spectacular one-punch knockout over Johnson. The Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight crown will remain
right where it has been for the last 630 days: on the mantle of the
man they call “Mighty Mouse.”
Johnson retained his 125-pound championship with another
virtuoso performance, as he turned away two-time combat sambo world
Bagautinov by unanimous decision in the
UFC 174 headliner on Saturday at Rogers Arena in Vancouver,
British Columbia, Canada. Johnson (20-2-1, 8-1-1 UFC) pitched a
50-45 shutout on all three scorecards, extending his current
winning streak to six.
The diminutive but dynamic champion outclassed the rugged
Bagautinov (13-3, 3-1 UFC) at every turn, his speed and technique
leaving the Dagestani grappler puzzled and frustrated. He did much
of his damage from the Thai plum, crashing knees into Bagautinov’s
body and head repeatedly. By the end of the 25-minute encounter,
the challenger’s torso was riddled with various bruises and
abrasions, providing hard evidence of Johnson’s dominance.
Andrei Arlovski gets split decision nod for first UFC win in 6 years
The two fighters trained together once upon a time and because it's the heavyweight division, Schaub and Arlovski knew all too well how one mistake could lead to the end of the fight. So both men rarely took chances over the course of the fight, and what resulted was a lackluster performance ending in a split decision win for Arlovski.
Twitter reacts to Rory MacDonald’s UFC 174 home win over Tyron Woodley
“Ares” topped Woodley for three straight rounds in front of his home crowd inside Vancouver’s Rogers Arena to further elevate his status as one of the top 170-pound fighters in the world and possibly earn a shot at divisional kingpin Johny Hendricks somewhere down the line.
UFC 174 results: Jimmo breaks arm, Arlovski squeaks past Schaub, Bader dominates Feijao
In the opening bout, a bit of a bizarre ending occurred once again for Ryan Jimmo, who yelled to the referee that his arm was broken near the midway point of the 2nd round. Ovince St. Preux literally attacked with a kimura right after Jimmo said it the first time, so Jimmo said it again and the referee stopped the fight. It's the rare verbal submission (at 2:10 of round 2) as Jimmo loses by injury for the 2nd time in the UFC. The ending sequence started when St. Preux took Jimmo down and moved right into mount, and started working towards a finish when Jimmo declared he was hurt. St. Preux is now 4-0 in the UFC while Jimmo drops to 3-3. Jimmo believes he broke his arm blocking a kick from OSP earlier in the round.
UFC 174 live blog: Ovince St. Preux vs. Ryan Jimmo
Round 1: OSP opens southpaw while Jimmo is orthodox. Good body kick by OSP and Jimmo nearly connects on a right hand. OSP lands a leaping left, but Jimmo nearly lands a thunderous counterpunch. As I type this, OSP lands another left hand down the middle. Jimmo charges in and presses OSP against the fence. After jockeying, they separate off of OSP's left elbow push. Inside leg kick lands for Jimmo and he's bleeding from his nose now. Another good left hand from OSP. Jimmo moving around a lot on the outside while OSP paces forward. OSP attempts a late takedown and gets it, but Jimmo is able to stand.
UFC 174 live blog: Ryan Bader vs. Rafael Cavalcante
Round 1: Yves Lavigne is the referee in charge of the action. Both fighters open orthodox and Feijao lands an inside leg kick. Bader tosses a one-two, but both are blocked. Bader scores a double and gets it, but Feijao stands with Bader behind him. Bader is battering the legs of Feijao as he works from the side of the Brazilian. Feijao is finally able to secure an underhook and separate. Both fighters throwing bombs, but not really able to land anything clean. Now both fighters trade jabs. Great blast double by Bader plants Feijao on the mat. Feijao gets his back to the fence. Feijao is turtled and eating short shots, but mostly covering up. Just before the final bell, Feijao eats a crushing knee to the body.
