Video: Watch Mike Tyson force Dana White to give up his airplane seat

When it comes to former boxing great Mike Tyson and UFC President Dana White, perhaps it’s not the bromance it seems to be.

We shouldn’t criticize UFC management for attempting this farcical match-up in order to drum up interest in the sport. But while Rousey vs. Carano may put some cash in Rousey’s bank account, it will add nothing to her resume. To be a great champion, one must face the best available competition, and there are two active fighters currently unsigned by the UFC who fit that description— Holly Holm and Cristiane Justino.

Phil Baroni vs. Karo Parisyan helps complete Bellator 122 card

“We’ve got two spectacular tournament final fights that headline the show, two amazing semifinals in our light heavyweight tournament and a battle between two great names in MMA, with the Bellator debut of ‘The New York Bad Ass’ Phil Baroni facing the resurgent and focused Karo ‘The Heat”’ Parisyan,” Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney stated. “And, on top of that we’ve got a loaded prelim card that features a crazy amount of talent. The Southern California market has been fantastic to us, it’s our home, and we are delivering a great card top to bottom.”

New mouthguard provides data for early detection of concussions

Anthony Gonzales: One of the unique features about our device is that allows you to input your age, weight and gender, which are important variables for calculating a threshold of risk. So we've come up with some predetermined ranges and thresholds, like the 50% you mentioned, but we're also a big proponent of providing the tools to let the user have complete control of the mouthguard. On the mobile application you'll be able to override the threshold we've established to set a level of indication you're comfortable with. If you don't want to be notified until you've received over 100g's of force, you'll have the opportunity to program your device to not notify you until that point in time. So while we provide recommended thresholds to use, you're by no means obligated to use those. It's still going to measure the force and display that in your smartphone, the only thing that will be different is when it changes color.

Much like the above letter and the one running down a shrimp's back, this vein contained way more poop than you'd expect. One of his letters to his mom included the passage "Yesterday, though, we heard the king of farts/ It smelled as sweet as honey tarts/ While it wasn't in the strongest of voice/ It still came on as a powerful noise." Another ended with "I now wish you goodnight, shit in your bed with all your might, sleep with peace on your mind and try to kiss your own behind. [...] Oh my ass burns like fire! This podcast has jumped to the top of my UFC/MMA podcast list - but c'mon, once a week?. I really feel like Brendan and Bryan should be able to do at least 2 eps a week, or maybe 2 hours a pop - I mean, what else do these guys have to do during the day? Brendan habitually mispronouncing every major UFC fighter's name on the roster is a nice touch, too. I also want to hear more about Bryan's mad greco skills. I think he should do each episode shirtless.

Mirko ‘Cro Cop,’ Satoshi Ishii Set for Aug. 23 Bout at Inoki Genome Fight in Tokyo

Nearing 40, “Cro Cop” continues to fight on. | Dave Mandel/ UFC and Pride Fighting Championships veteran Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic will return to Japan in August to take on streaking heavyweight Satoshi Ishii . The heavyweight matchup is set to headline Inoki Genome Fight 2 , the second all-MMA offering from Antonio Inoki’s pro-wrestling promotion, Inoki Genome Federation . The event takes place Aug. 23 at Ryogoku Kokugikan arena in Tokyo’s Sumida ward. Filipovic, 39, briefly retired from mixed martial arts and returned to kickboxing after a three-fight losing skid led to his exit from the UFC in 2011. The Croatian striker came back to MMA in December 2012 with an armbar win over former sumo Shinichi Suzukawa , but succumbed to a first-round neck crank from recent UFC signee Alexey Oleinik last November. Ishii, who trains in California at Black House and Reign MMA, has notched seven victories inside the IGF ring in the past 18 months, including decisions over the likes of Pedro Rizzo , Tim Sylvia and, most recently, Philip De Fries .

"Hi Pauline Nordin & Fighter Diet, I have been the hugest fan of yours for atheist two years. I never post or comment on your Facebook because I feel like you're constantly bombarded with so many people's comments and questions! It's insane! I know a million people want to talk to you and want feedback, for me it's the opposite! I merely want to tell you that to me, you're super women. I am 24 years old and spent my whole life skinny and non athletic. I have spent the past year working my butt off to add some muscle, but always got so scared when I saw the weight on the scale go up. But after reading your words everyday, following The FDX2 Diet, and weight training as heavy as humanly possible with NO CARDIO! I am finally seeing changes!! I went from 108 pounds to now being 121 pounds

Frustrated champ Johny Hendricks eyes fall return to stacked UFC 170 class

After injuring his biceps training for fighting Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC welterweight title in March, Hendricks (16-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) pushed through it in the fight and suffered a complete tear of the muscle during his winning effort. That landed him in surgery after he was crowned the new champ, and now, with a doctor’s appointment looming at which he hopes he’ll be cleared to return to full-time training, the urge to overdo it is almost overwhelming.

Report: ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira Undergoes Successful ACL Surgery, Faces 6-Month Rehab

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira likely won't return to the cage until 2015. | Dave Mandel/ UFC heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira underwent surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Tuesday, according to a report by . The procedure took place in Rio de Janeiro and was conducted by Dr. Marco Aurelio Sousa under the supervision of Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission medical director Marcio Tannure. According to the report, the surgery was successful. Rehabilitation is expected to take six months. Nogueira last fought at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi on April 11, when he was knocked out by Roy Nelson 3:37 into the opening round of their featured heavyweight encounter. Shortly thereafter, the Brazilian told that he tore his ACL in training three days prior to facing “Big Country.” Nogueira also suffered a partial tear in his lateral collateral ligament leading up to the fight, but no surgery was necessary for that injury, according to “Minotauro” is 5-5 in the UFC, with all of his losses coming via knockout or submission during that time.

NEWS - WSOF 10?s Jesse Taylor: “I’ve Got A Date With Destiny And I’m Going To Make The Most Of It.” | World Series of Fighting

“I’ve had a very crazy, wild career inside and outside the cage. I think when it’s all said and done, it would be stupid of me not to write a book.” For those who have followed the career of Jesse “JT Money” Taylor (27-9), those words couldn’t be closer to the truth. After learning the hard way what poor choices could cost him, Taylor will look to put a stamp on his resurgence at World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 10. On June 21, he battles David Branch for the promotion’s inaugural middleweight title. In an interview with MMA Fight Corner, Taylor stated he will never again take his opportunities for granted. A finalist on The Ultimate Fighter season 7, Taylor’s actions following the filming of the season cost him a chance at competing in the finale and possibly signing a 6-figure contract with the UFC. Prior to the finale, Taylor wrecked havoc on a night out in Las Vegas and paid the price. He was removed from the upcoming fight card and his dream of making it in the UFC was brought to a screeching halt. Though in 2008 he was given a UFC fight, Taylor lost to CB Dollaway and was released.

Jarrell Miller Eager to Avenge Controversial Loss to Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ in Glory 17 Headliner

Photo: James Law/Glory World Series A little more than a year ago, Jarrell Miller suffered the first loss of his professional kickboxing career. The sting of that defeat still lingers. Don’t tell Miller that records don’t matter in combat sports. While there is no shame in losing to a legend on his home soil, Miller believes he was robbed by the judges in losing a unanimous decision to Mirko Filipovic at the K-1 World Grand Prix quarterfinals in Zagreb, Croatia last March. “Anybody who tells you a record doesn’t mean anything is full of s--t,” Miller recently told “A record means a lot. A record is basically your resume and [helps] you get your foot through the door. It was special for me because I worked hard to keep that record that way. So now it’s more personal. You’re trying to take money off of the table; you’re trying to take food out of my kid’s mouth. Payback’s a bitch,” he added. “I’m gonna do my job 10 times better than the first time.” Miller will get a second crack at “Cro Cop” when he faces the Croatian in the Glory 17 main event at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

Viewpoint: MMA’s Television Future

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has a $90-plus-million-dollar-a-year deal with Fox Sports; Bellator MMA is owned by Viacom; and the World Series of Fighting recently inked a new agreement with NBC Sports that looks similar to the kind of deal that Main Events has to broadcast fight programs. What does this all mean, and what are the expectations now when it comes to the pros and cons of mixed martial arts programming on television? Twenty years ago, the prospect of multiple promotions having television deals on cable was unimaginable. Many of today’s MMA fans did not grow up during the early days of the UFC, so their expectations are much higher when it comes to what kind of MMA product should be on television and how much promoters should be making with these television deals. The truth is that non-UFC promoters should be counting their blessings that they are able to secure television time without actually having to pay for it. There is this push-and-pull dynamic amongst many hardcore MMA fans, not only to see MMA on television but to also have TV executives subsidize most of it.

EA UFC is here. This is our review.

So here we are, friends, fighting game enthusiasts and those that fall into the "other" category. About four years ago around this time, we were fawning over the EA MMA screenshots and videos trickling out of E3, and while many loved EA's initial foray into MMA. It died a slow death, didn't it? UFC 3 dropped a few months before the official funeral of EA MMA in 2012, which means we haven't had a proper new MMA game release for 2.5 years. Man. That's  the second longest break between MMA games since Tito Ortiz was on top of the world. For what it's worth, this is the first UFC videogame to not have Tito Ortiz featured. I don't know what that means, I don't even really care, I never used Tito or would use Tito outside of a random selection, I guess I just wanted to get all #SportsFact in the opening paragraph on your ass.

Tweet of the Day: Mike Tyson plays mind games with Dana White

No word yet on whether or not Tyson also stacked his luggage on White, or put shaving cream in his hand. Earlier in the flight Dana did release this video, however, of Tyson smacking him and telling him to give up his seat on the plane. White may want to take up Tyson's bullying problem with the Fertittas, because I don't think fighting back would be a very good idea... In fact, he may just want to leave well enough alone in this instance.

Due to past lawsuit trouble, EA's UFC game will not feature Carlos Condit's tattoo

As a producer of my own copyrighted material it feels almost foolhardy for me to say that much of copyright law is weird and nonsensical and serves people in ways it was never intended. One clear example of that comes in the form of Carlos Condit and the lawsuit he unwittingly found himself at the center of. Readers may remember that way back in November of 2012, Condit's tattoo artist filed a lawsuit against video game developer THQ over his work being featured in their new UFC video game; and more importantly, over the artist not being compensated for his work being featured in said video game. As a piece of artwork, the design of a tattoo technically belongs to the artist, in a way that is usually reasonable (protection against someone taking a design you created and claiming it as their own, for instance), but in cases like this, gets really kind of weird and creepy.
