Get Ready To Spend! White Reveals #MayMac’s Jacked Up Pay-Per-View Price

“When you talk about superfights, this is a superfight. Two different guys from two different sports going in and putting it on the line. You can’t charge what you normally charge for a pay-per-view, I get it. And saying there was pushback on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao superfight? There was anything but, it was the biggest fight ever in the history of PPV. And as much of a clusterfuck as I said the ticket situation was, people were rabid for those tickets. I bought 10 tickets for that fight, that’s the worst thing about it.

Preview: UFC Fight Night ‘Holm vs. Correia’ - Holm vs. Correia

With UFC Fight Night 110 more than exceeding expectations, the Ultimate Fighting Championship looks to make gold out of another underwhelming card on Saturday in Singapore. In the UFC Fight Night 111 main event, Holly Holm will try to reverse the negative momentum of her three-fight skid in a battle with underrated journeywoman Bethe Correia . Do not expect fireworks, but the fight should tell us a great deal about both fighters. Earlier on the main card, former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will make his much-anticipated welterweight debut in a fascinating fight with kickboxing technician Tarec Saffiedine . Fortunately for fans, the prelims are loaded with well-matched bouts featuring a selection of tested action fighters, crafty veterans and exciting prospects. A bantamweight battle between Kwan Ho Kwak and Russell Doane promises to be action-packed, and Li Jingliang’s penchant for slugfests will be indulged when he takes on experienced slugger Frank Camacho . Plus, Justin Scoggins will take on the resurgent Yuta Sasaki in a fascinating flyweight scrap.

UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes awake and responsive day after truck-train accident

Hughes last fought in 2011, suffering a knockout loss to Josh Koscheck after a previous knockout loss to now-Hall of Famer B.J. Penn. During his reign as champion, he beat some of the sport’s greatest at 170 pounds, including Georges St-Pierre, Sean Sherk, Penn and Royce Gracie, among others.

White: Ex-UFC champ Hughes in crash, airlifted

Hughes (45-9) held the UFC's welterweight championship at various points between 2001 and 2006. He is recognized as one of the greatest 170-pound fighters of all time. He retired from professional competition in 2011 but publicly said he was considering a comeback fight earlier this year.

Beating the Odds: UFC Fight Night ‘Lewis vs. Hunt’

Ben Nguyen left no room for discussion. Listed as a +155 underdog by, the fast-rising Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight contender submitted “The Ultimate Fighter 24” winner Tim Elliott with a first-round rear-naked choke at UFC Fight Night 110 on Saturday at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Elliott (-205), who replaced an injured Joseph Benavidez on short notice, bowed out 49 seconds into Round 1. Nguyen buzzed the former Titan Fighting Championship titleholder with a head kick, countered a head-and-arm throw and transitioned to the back while standing. He then moved his arms into position for the choke, forced Elliott to collapse to the canvas and prompted the tapout. “This was a real rollercoaster for me,” said Nguyen, who improved to 4-1 in the UFC. “Obviously, I expected to fight Benavidez and then we had to change our game plan with Tim. We noticed that he tends to lean to that side quite a bit so I knew I could time my striking, and it all worked out. Tim’s style is very different so it was a lot of work, but we got the job done.

UFC Fighter Sentenced To 5 1/2 Years Of Prison Time Following Gruesome Beating Of His Wife

Police from Middleboro County were first called to Grispi’s home on August 1st, 2014 – according to a report in the Hingham Patch. The Taunton Gazette claims this was in response to Grispi’s mother-in-law visiting a police station with images of her daughter which she said showed evidence of domestic abuse. At Grispi’s home police interviewed his wife Kaitlyn and searched the premises. Around the house they found three handguns, two rifles, and an assault rifle, all of which were improperly stored. Grispi was also deemed to be lacking the correct licenses to own the firearms.

Ex-UFC Fighter Josh Grispi Sentenced to 5 1/2 Years in Prison on Multiple Charges

Former UFC and WEC fighter Josh Grispi will go to prison on charges stemming from what one Massachusetts police officer called “the worst case of domestic abuse I’ve ever seen.” According to a report from the Hingham Patch , Grispi was found guilty of seven counts of improper storage of a firearm, five counts of assault and battery, two counts of threatening to commit a crime, eight counts of witness intimidation, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, and attempt to procure perjury. After a five-day trial and five hours of jury deliberation, Grispi was sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison and five years’ probation. The district attorney’s office had been seeking eight to 10 years in state prison for Grispi. On Aug. 1, 2014, Middleboro, Mass., police responded to the Grispi residence on a tip of domestic abuse, where they found three handguns, two rifles, an assault rifle and a Sig Sauer .45-caliber handgun. The firearms had not been stored or secured properly and Grispi did not have an updated license to carry.

Boxing: Andre Ward Stops Sergey Kovalev in Eighth to Retain Light Heavyweight Titles

#WardKovalev2 - Ward finishes the fight. What are your thoughts on the stoppage here? — Jim Edwards (@MMA_Jim) June 18, 2017 Andre Ward proved to the world that he is not only the best light heavyweight in the world, but also the No.1 pound-for-pound boxer when he stopped rival Sergey Kovalev in the eighth round in Las Vegas. Ward (32-0, 16 KOs) fought tooth and nail with his Russian counterpart as they connected with powerful punches to the head and waged a war of attrition on the inside. Each round in the duel was as close as they come as Kovalev was largely the aggressor behind his jab while Ward landed scattered blows between constant clinching. Ward’s style frustrated “Krusher” early and often, reducing him to being able to land only single blows for much of the contest and slowly depleting his gas tank. With both men lumped up around the eyes in the eighth, Kovalev appeared to be coming on in the second half of the fight. But a wicked right hook to the stomach hurt Kovalev, who unsuccessfully protested to referee Tony Weeks that it was low.

Ray Sefo: Professional Fighters League’s Financial Framework Will Attract Fighters

World Series of Fighting re-emerging as the Professional Fighters League shocked many on its announcement earlier this year. The most striking contrast between the two banners is PFL’s tournament format. Ray Sefo , former president of WSOF and president of fighting operations for PFL, was forged in tournament style combat events during his time with K-1. Skepticism remains in the eyes of some in regards to tournament-style mixed martial arts after the International Fight League failed to spark the enthusiasm of the fan base in its run from 2006 to 2008. Yet, Sefo believes that IFL’s team element was the main factor that led to its downfall. Having witnessed the fanfare surrounding the K-1 tournaments during its heyday, Sefo is confident PFL’s format will stimulate MMA’s diehards again. “I came up within these tournament style formats. Anyone who says it doesn’t work doesn’t know anything about it,” Sefo said. “I remember talking to Maurice Smith years after K-1 had become the biggest kickboxing promotion in the world.

Mike Tyson discusses Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather |

With that being said, as UFC President Dana White stated on his live Q&A session following the fight’s official announcement, when two fighters step into the cage, or in this case the ring, anything can happen. With that being said, White also explained on the Q&A session that if anyone were to talk to Conor McGregor, they would understand that he wholeheartedly believes he can hand Floyd Mayweather his first professional loss.

Tony Ferguson: I have to congratulate Conor McGregor |

“I have to say congratulations (to McGregor); that’s a (expletive) of money for them,” Ferguson told said. “That’s a lot of (expletive) lettuce, but don’t forget about the UFC cage, because you’re holding onto my belt. I’m over here. Let’s fight for an interim belt while Conor is doing his other thing. Let’s get something going. The interim title is vacant. That (expletive) needs to be in my hands. (I’m on a) nine-fight winning streak, and 10 sounds better, so let’s get it moving.”

Is Mayweather-McGregor set for August 26? - Fighters Only

Granted, though, this isn’t the first false start the fight has had. Nor is it in any way a heads-up for fans looking to take a week off work in August, invade the MGM Grand and remortgage their house to purchase obscenely priced tickets on the secondary market. No, the advice is to tread carefully with this one. We have been here before. We’re predisposed to being played and seduced by these two. What’s more, the MGM Grand, we’re told, has never been the intended venue for Mayweather vs. McGregor. That distinction goes to the bigger T-Mobile Arena, the home of Golovkin-Alvarez.

With the right encouragement, Holly Holm found the KO artist within. Will it last this time?

So now the dreaded three-fight losing skid is over, presenting Holm with some interesting options. The good news is she’s one of the few women under contract to the UFC who has actually fought at 145 pounds, even if it was just once and even if she lost. Still, she has a name and a history and a division that can’t seem to even keep its own champion interested in hanging around could sure use someone like her.

Sergei Kharitonov Flattens Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in 38 Seconds at M-1 Challenge 80

Sergey Kharitonov vs Rameau Thierry Sojoudjou tough #knockout #ko on #M1Challenge80. Watch all fights in HD on — M-1 Global (@M1GlobalNews) June 15, 2017 It didn’t take long for Sergei Kharitonov to prove who the better man was Thursday night against Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou . In fact, it happened so fast that the Russian powerhouse barely broke a sweat in the main event of M-1 Challenge 80 . With a packed house in Harbin, China, Kharitonov blasted his fellow Pride Fighting Championships alum with vicious punches to the head, knocking his foe out in just 38 seconds. Sokoudjou never had a chance to get anything going by the time “The Paratrooper” was all over him, wrecking his equilibrium and quickly turning out his lights. The co-featured bout was much more competitive as Ivan Buchinger and Timur Nagibin fought tooth and nail for nearly four rounds before the promotion’s featherweight champion was crowned. In the end, it was Buchinger who prevailed as he forced Nagibin to submit to a rear-naked choke at the 3:24 mark of the fourth.
