The U.S. Military Once Proposed a “Gay” Bomb

One doesn’t commonly associate the slogan “make love not war” with the U.S. military. Indeed, the United States military is feared and formidable precisely because it has proven so effective at conceptualizing clever and innovative ways to search, find and destroy, often with the simple push of a button. However, in a departure from these hostile traditions, in 1994 the Wright Laboratory, part of the U.S. Air Force, produced a three page proposal for a “gay bomb”.

Chris Camozzi-Rafael Natal Booked for Sept. 5 UFC Fight Night in Connecticut

Chris Camozzi's 12th UFC bout will come versus Rafael Natal on Sept. 5. | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com Chris Camozzi was visibly displeased with the way his fight against Bruno Santos went at UFC 175 in Las Vegas last Saturday, but UFC officials have given the Colorado native an opportunity to quickly wipe the bad taste from his mouth. It was announced on Friday that Camozzi will fight Rafael Natal in a middleweight bout on Sept. 5. The tilt will be part of the UFC Fight Night at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn. The event will also house a middleweight duel featuring Gegard Mousasi and Ronaldo Souza , as well as the recently announced Derrick Lewis - Matt Mitrione heavyweight bout. For Camozzi, winning is absolutely vital. The 27-year-old has dropped three straight pairings under the Zuffa banner since May of 2013. Prior to the losing streak, Camozzi had rallied off four wins in a row, earning him a fight against “Jacare” Souza at UFC on FX “Belfort vs. Rockhold.” He lost via submission, starting on his current slide.

Jose Aldo levels PED allegations at Chad Mendes as similar allegations swirl around the champ

"It's not something I heard, it's something I know. The UFC was contacted from the California [State] Athletic Commission from my understanding, and was looking for contact information for all the fighters from UFC 176, and were informed they were going to do pre-fight drugs testing. Or maybe they weren't informed, and maybe they inferred it. Apparently the next day, Jose Aldo pulled out. Then when we revisited and asked a couple of people people they said: 'Oh no, he was hurt 4 or 5 days before they announced he was out of the fight.' They were looking for a replacement. It's pretty tough to keep news like that under wraps for 4 or 5 days, so I'm more inclined to believe the first version. It could be a huge coincidence too, and I don't want to imply anything, but there is that speculation that's out there and there's plenty of people talking about it."
