Facebook Crosses The Line With New Facebook Messenger App - The New Bull @ 100.3
With these kinds of privacy invasions I think Facebook is pushing the limits to what people will let them get away with. I remember when the Internet first began it’s march toward socializing dominance when AOL would send us CD’s for free trials every week. On AOL, we made screen names that somewhat hid our identities and protected us against the unseen dangers online. Now, it seems that we’ve forgotten about that desire to protect our identity and we just lay down and let them invade our privacy.

Manny Pacquiao getting into the MMA business
MMA is growing in popularity in Asia and UFC the Philippines, which is where Pacquiao comes in. UFC would love to hold an event in Pacquiao’s homeland, where a Chuck Liddell workout drew 4,000 fans. “There are a lot of common fans and common ties with MMA and boxing [in the Philippines] and MMA awareness is much stronger than it is in other parts of Asia,” Cui said. “Manny has been looking for some opportunities outside of boxing, and he and his team have kept an eye on the sport of MMA. It made a lot of sense to him.”
Atomic Tests Were a Tourist Draw in 1950s Las Vegas
In true Las Vegas style, the city capitalized on the atomic spectacle. The Chamber of Commerce printed up calendars advertising detonation times and the best spots for watching. Casinos like Binion’s Horseshoe and the Desert Inn flaunted their north-facing vistas, offering special “atomic cocktails” and “Dawn Bomb Parties,” where crowds danced and quaffed until a flash lit the sky. Women decked out as mushroom clouds vied for the “Miss Atomic Energy” crown at the Sands. “The best thing to happen to Vegas was the Atomic Bomb,” one gambling magnate declared .

UFC PR rep makes 'SportsCenter' NOT Top 10 list with Jones vs. Cormier brawl
During Monday’s brawl at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Sholler subbed for UFC President Dana White and presided over the customary face-off photo opportunity. But when Jones moved in and bumped heads, Cormier gave him a shove, Jones loaded up for a punch, and poor Sholler was shoved aside, took a tumble off the stage, and crashed through the backdrop. Check it out:

Fighter Diet Muscle tips
You can be a hardgainer regarding muscle but a hardloser regarding fat aka a skinny fatty! If you're a skinny fatty your body is resistant to build muscle and prefers to have a high body fat % on a normal BMI. For cut to the bullshit here you can define yourself as a skinny fatty if you see no muscle definition and have a smooth but thin body. Skinny fatty is usually the result of an inactive lifestyle and can be remedied with weight training, some cardio and proper diet.

VanZant Will Become Youngest Female Fighter After Debut
Long waits may be relative when you’re 20 years old, but that didn’t make things any easier for Paige VanZant as she patiently hoped for her name to be called and her first UFC fight to be made official. But now that she has a date – Oct. 4 – and an opponent – Kailin Curran - for her Octagon debut, all is well in the world of the youngest female fighter in the organization.

Paul Felder Caps CFFC 38 Title Tripleheader With Spinning-Heel Kick KO
Felder took CFFC gold with a spinning-heel kick KO at CFFC 38. |
Just over three years ago,
Cage Fury Fighting Championships put on a seven-fight card with
Massouh taking on John
Cholish in the main event. Almost 30 events later, with a TV
deal with local power SNY in tow, CFFC
38 's title tripleheader was topped by Paul
Felder 's spinning-heel kick knockout of Craig
Johnson to take the CFFC lightweight crown.
Before the bout, Felder said he wasn’t worried about Johnson’s
wrestling game and he wasn’t going to be taken down. The words
proved prophetic as Johnson tried time and again to take Felder
down to no avail, paving the way for the highlight-reel knockout at
3:44 of the second round.
“That’s in my back pocket at all times,” Felder, now 8-0, told
Sherdog.com after the bout. “All throughout this training camp I’ve
been practicing that kick and I just saw his hands down, and he was
slow and tired and I just went for it. I started thinking in the
back of my head, ‘I know I’m hitting this guy and I’m landing
World Series of Fighting slowly progressed with consecutive 15-minute bouts, but Luis Palomino ended the night in devastating fashion at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday night..
Palomino, who made his WSOF debut in January with a first-round KO victory over Jorge Patino, did it again in the main event of WSOF 12 in Las Vegas. Matched against undefeated Lewis Gonzalez, the Peruvian lightweight needed one round to earn his 15th finish..
The long-time Bellator veteran rocked Gonzalez early in the fight with a huge left hand, but found low kicks the best way to set up for a finish. He tried it once, but it was on the second attempt, that Palomino knocked Gonzalez off-balance with a low kick and landed a vicious high kick that dropped him unconscious..
With two devastating finishes under the WSOF banner, Palomino asked for a shot at the lightweight title against the winner of 155-pound champion Justin Gaethje vs. UFC veteran Melvin Guillard, expected to take place later this year..
In the co-main event, Ronny Markes returned to the light heavyweight division for his post-UFC fight, and it paid off.

T.J. Grant would love to fight Cowboy Cerrone or Nate Diaz upon his return
"I feel like I'm fit and I'm going to be ready to fight people soon," Grant said. "I don't see any reason why I can't just jump right back in. I'm looking to fight. I want to make money, too. I never ever take fights for money, but that definitely doesn't hurt when you haven't earned money in over a year. I'm hoping for Halifax. Halifax is what I'm game planning for, but I haven't talked to Joe Silva yet. When I'm ready to go, I'll give him a call and hopefully he'll be able to give me a spot along the way.
Bloody Elbow 2014 half-year MMA awards: Best event
As to keep up with the format that Tim had used, I've selected 8 entries per category, but since this year's "half-year" awards is in August, I've moved the cutoff date to July 26th, which stands as the most recent UFC event (UFC on Fox 12). All of our choices are based on major MMA promotions only (UFC, Bellator, WSOF, etc.), so that doesn't include kickboxing, boxing, Metamoris, or anything else of the sort. This was fairly difficult to sift through, so don't be angry if there's any of your favorites that have been left out.
Happy Sunday everyone! #selfie ️ | BrittneyPalmer.com
Let me preface this blog, and every blog that follows, by saying that there is no “one right answer” when it comes to nutrition and fitness. There are multiple ways to achieve your ideal body. The advice from one nutrition and fitness expert can work very well for you. Does that mean the advice from every other nutrition and fitness expert is wrong? The answer is, of course it doesn’t. The truth is there are multiple “correct” ways to reach your ideal body and maintain it. This blog, and the suggestions that are made within it, in no way disqualify other advice as “wrong” or “bad”. Just as there are “many ways to skin a cat” –there are also many ways to reach your ideal body. Finding what works for you that you can also HAPPILY MAINTAIN long term – a lifestyle change where you can enjoy your food and workout a reasonable amount – is the key.
Here's a knockout from Shooto that happened and you need to watch it because... well JMMA
We all get into MMA in different ways. The way I got into it was through the JMMA scene, that's what hooked me and made me a hardcore fan. The Japanese had a way of making every event feel important, the VTRs before the fights, the fights themselves. They just captured me more as a fan, whereas the American MMA scene just didn't pull me in the same way. Of course I did learn to enjoy the MMA in America even though my preference still resides in Japan.

Still young at 26, Brad Tavares has upside despite flying under the radar
It wouldn’t be correct to call Tavares a veteran. He competed on The Ultimate Fighter 11 and has nine UFC fights. But, believe it or not, the Hawaiian is still only 26 years old. That's younger than some fighters considered top prospects.
Video: Following surgery, UFC champ Ronda Rousey rehabs injured knee
“My knee is really stable,” Rousey stated at the UFC 175 post-fight press conference. “All the ligaments are fine. There’s just stuff floating around in there. … It’s just something that’s more maintenance that I need to do, so it’s not really a major knee surgery at all. It’s just a scope. I literally walk out of there and be 100 percent in two weeks.”
Marina Shafir on 'Cyborg,' Carano: 'Ronda will loosen the pickle jar and I'll get to open it'
“I’m getting to the point in my career where I’m just whoever, whenever,” Shafir said. “I need experience, but as I’m racking up my experience and they’re making their decision about fighting, I’ll be ready. Maybe Ronda will loosen the pickle jar and I’ll get to open it a little bit.”
World Series of Fighting looking at Palhares-Fitch, Gaethje-Guillard for next NBC event
Neither fight has been made official, but we'll keep an eye out in case at least one of the two fights is confirmed for the targeted date. It should be noted that there is no UFC event scheduled for December 27th, so WSOF could have the MMA scene all to itself when all is said and done.
At Metamoris 4, hip became the new taboo
At UFC 4 , Royce Gracie wore his gi into the cage against Dan Severn , a 260-pound behemoth stuffed into a simple black pro wrestling Speedo and wrestling shoes. It was two different kinds of machismo clashing in Tulsa, and Gracie -- 100 pounds lighter than Severn -- somewhat miraculously persevered through the early manhandling to choke him out near the 16-minute mark. In the early days of medley combat, it went down as another notch for Brazilian jiu-jitsu. At Metamoris 4, Josh Barnett showed up as Severn’s blonde reincarnation. He came in at 260 pounds wearing the exact same get-up as Severn right down to the wrestling shoes, and, somewhat less miraculously, he avenged "The Beast" by suffocating the smaller Dean Lister via his front-loaded brand of catch wrestling. Barnett ended the match at around the 19:50 mark of a 20-minute bout with a neck crank from the scarf hold. Lister hadn’t been submitted in 16 years. Yet, nobody asked Barnett if his "attire" was an homage to Severn, because no media were credentialed. Metamoris 4, unlike the first three editions, was a fans-only arrangement held at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
Jemyma Betrian ready to make a name for herself in MMA at Chaos at the Casino 5
“She’s really in a similar situation that I was in when I started MMA in that she was so proficient in one area that all she has to do is get good enough everywhere else to get started as a professional and then keep learning as she’s getting competition experience,” said Rousey, who fought three amateur MMA bouts in five months before turning pro at the age of 24 in 2011.
Lyoto Machida: Chris Weidman is ready to fight Vitor Belfort standing
"It’s a good fight for both. They both stand a chance. We can’t underestimate either of them," he said. "Weidman has evolved a lot, has a big heart. Vitor is super talented, also evolved a lot, and is an athlete that works hard. When you have such a close fight like that, when it’s hard to break down, it’s hard to predict a result."
Welcome to the UFC, Joshua Copeland
Copeland is a legit plus athlete as a heavyweight. He's light on his feet, darts in and out of range well, and has the kind of naturally large frame that carries a lot of muscle with ease. Surprisingly for a guy who appears to have come to fighting late, he boxes exceptionally well on the inside, at times reminiscent of Daniel Cormier for his mix of speed, power, and raw aggression when throwing hands. He has shown a tendency to get himself off balance by over-extending on his strikes as he comes in, but it looks to be something he's improved upon. The big issue right now for Copeland is that he hasn't shown a consistent takedown game, or any sign of a kicking offense. He moves well and he punches well and he's big and tough, but if he can't get the finish early (or more importantly, round out his skill set) he's going to be a very predictable fighter.
TUF winner Eddie Gordon: They should let Vitor use TRT
TUF 19 middleweight winner Eddie Gordon discusses his future, his teammate Chris Weidman's upcoming title defence against Vitor Belfort, and a possible super fight between Weidman and Jon Jones.
After starting in Dublin 'garage,' SBG Ireland aims to prove it's ready for big stage
That approach has served the SBG fighters well so far, but now a different challenge is on the horizon. With the success of fighters like McGregor and Nelson and Pendred, they’re no longer the little gym that could. Now they’re the guys everyone wants to knock off. In MMA institutions such as American Top Team, Jackson-Winkeljohn’s, AKA, and more, some of the most experienced coaches in the world are helping their fighters take aim at the Irish upstarts on the scene.
WWE officials knock UFC's rewatching ability, inabiilty to guarantee good shows
Two of World Wrestling Entertainment's major executives and part of the company's ruling family, Paul "HHH" Levesque and wife Stephanie McMahon, spoke this past week about the Ultimate Fighting Championship at a fireside chat during the Needham Interconnect Conference in New York. The discussion came when someone in the audience asked how the UFC had impacted the WWE's business. Since 2005, the WWE and the UFC have had a unique dynamic. The two are, or at least were, competitors in pay-per-view, and have a crossover fan base. But circumstances dictate it being smart for both sides to claim that's not the case. For the WWE, which always triumphs being No. 1 in its genre, admitting competition would have opened up comparisons in pay-per-view, where UFC started beating WWE's numbers in North America badly, particularly from 2006 to 2010. During some of that period, UFC's top pay-per-view draw was Brock Lesnar, whose star power was created from his 2002 to 2004 run as one of WWE's biggest names. Lesnar bringing in new fans would seem only logical to be predominately pro wrestling fans.
WSOF 12 results: Luis Palomino knocks out Lewis Gonzalez, asks for title shot
In the night's televised opener, Matt Sayles took on a much more experienced Bryson Hansen , and he showed a lot of heart in his WSOF debut. Hansen rocked Sayles early in the bantamweight fight and almost got the TKO finish, but "Robo" managed to survive the round. He came back better and landed the better shots in the next rounds, improving to 3-0 with the unanimous decision.
Get hype! Kickboxing champ Jemyma Betrian and Marina Shafir prepare for Chaos at the Casino 5
Is there a better hype-woman in MMA than Shayna Baszler? I mean, she’s been around the sport long enough, competed in enough rinky-dink promotions, that she knows how to get fans fired up & interested in her fights. Plus, you weigh in the fact that she regularly had promo-cutting homework from Josh Barnett & then you turn her loose to support one of her best friends, and you get Shayna Baszler live-tweeting Chaos at the Casino 4 for Marina Shafir’s pro debut. Lessons learned: 1) the Queen of Spades knows how to get the word out; 2) Buy her a gin & tonic and she’ll let you hang out with her.
Jon Jones doesn't hate Daniel Cormier, he's just a fierce competitor wearing his game face and its ugly
When asked if his negative feelings toward Cormier were genuine, Jones replied "Yeah, they're genuine. I'm not going to say that I hate him. I don't hate him. It's not even that I don't like him. It's just that I'm a fierce competitor. I'm a fierce competitor and he's a fierce competitor, and we both know what's ahead of us and that's real competition, good competition. You need to take on a certain attitude to be able to meet that challenge and to do your best, so we've both got our game faces on, and, unfortunately, those game faces are ugly."
Recently retired Mark Bocek on PEDs in MMA: 'I think it’s worse than people realize'
“I think it’s worse than people realize,” Bocek said. “I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the way things are going, you kind of deserve to lose if you’re not on PEDs nowadays. I used to think of it as cheating, but you can’t call it cheating when everyone is doing it. You go in there and lose to someone on PEDs, it’s like, what did you expect? Did you think you were going to knock out some guy on PEDs in the highest MMA league in the world? People get away with cheating in the Olympics, which has much stricter testing than in the UFC, so you can imagine what people get away with in the UFC.
Jon Jones on eye pokes during fights: 'I realize that I do it'
"I realize that I do it," Jones said. "I realize the criticism that I got from it. It's not on purpose. If you watch my fights, a lot of the times when guys get poked in the eyes, it's me extending my arm in a reactionary way. I do put hand on people's foreheads to maintain distance. That's what you saw in the Teixeira fight, but to say I am purposely poking people in the eye it's just inaccurate. You can call it what you want."
Video: Shaq used to grapple his NBA teammates naked
"The thing that he did that he got to be notorious for is that, every few days or every week or so, he would decide that it was time for this Brazilian naked wrestling contest. You would never know who the chosen one was, but what would happen when you least expect it, this 7-foot, 310-pound guy would turn the corner, and he would be stark naked and he would run right at you full speed, grab you, he would take you to the floor and then he would do about five rollovers with you. And he would always tell our trainers who it was going to be, so they were always prepared for it, but you never knew who it was going to be. Yes, I was a victim of this. I had to go to therapy a bit after that"
Bellator explains why they cut War Machine this time, War Machine & Christy Mack both comment on social media
While rumors have been running rampant on social media, Mack denies that she was caught "banging some MMA fighter" behind War Machine's back, but has yet to come forward with details of what actually transpired. That's not unusual in cases like this, pending charges and a possible lawsuit.

Randy Couture talks about saving 'dying squirrel' gym owners on 'Gym Rescue'
When producers pitched Randy Couture on “Gym Rescue,” a spinoff of Spike TV’s popular reality show “Bar Rescue” that debuts tonight (10 p.m. ET/PT), the idea of rehabbing gyms wasn’t unfamiliar to the ex-champ and UFC Hall of Famer. He’d helped put Oregon’s Team Quest on the map and built Xtreme Couture from the ground up.
