Dos Santos’ failed test stems from an out-of-competition sample collected on Aug. 10. “Cigano” was pulled from UFC 215 “due to the close proximity” of his scheduled bout with Ngannou. The UFC is currently seeking a replacement opponent for Ngannou, according to a statement. I'm very very angry!!! Arlovski, an honorable mention in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA heavyweight rankings , will attempt to snap a five-fight losing skid in the upcoming fight. Although the majority of his defeats in that stretch have come against the likes of Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett and Francis Ngannou, the former UFC titleholder is coming off a unanimous decision loss to a lesser-known foe in Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 111 in June.

Artem Lobov will lock horns with Andre Fili in a featherweight tilt at UFC Fight Night 118 . Promotion officials announced the pairing on Friday. UFC Fight Night 118 takes place in Gdansk, Poland, on Oct. 21 and will stream on UFC Fight Pass. A headliner has not been announced for the event. Lobov had a two-fight winning streak halted in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 108, as he lost a five-round verdict to Cub Swanson in the evening’s headliner on April 22. However, the SBG Ireland representative gained a measure of respect by going the distance with a top featherweight contender in an entertaining battle. A member of Team Alpha Male, Fili has alternated wins and losses through his first eight Octagon appearances. Most recently, he suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Calvin Kattar at UFC 214 on July 29.

Melendez is no doubt happy for those payments with the Reebok deal in full effect. Now, his top priority is reversing an octagon slide that’s seen him lose three straight. After all, taking out Stephens at the Sept. 9 pay-per-view event is the best way to get paid in full.

“I believe he’s being genuine; I do believe he’s trying to turn over a new leaf,” Cormier said. “I think he’s trying to show that he’s a different person than he was in the past. With that being said, friendship would be very difficult for us to achieve. And I’m OK with that. … In terms of going forward, we will be professional because we have to until the cage door closes again.”

When the two first locked horns back at ADCC 2015, Garry Tonon and Dillon Danis weren’t exactly the best of friends. A heel hook submission for Tonon occurred that day and in the two years leading up to their Polaris 5 main event battle inside Indigo at O2 Arena in London, there certainly weren’t any changes of heart in their UFC Fight Pass-televised battle. Tonon was amped to submit his rival again and “The Lion Killer” was relentless with his attacks. He repeatedly had Dillon on the defensive with a cornucopia of leg locks. Whether it was the heel hook, the toe fold or the straight knee bar, Tonon did everything he could to force the tap. To his credit, Danis never succumbed to the submissions but he was never able to get his own offense going. For that reason alone, all three matside judges favored Tonon, who won via unanimous decision. Longtime mixed martial arts veteran Jake Shields did just enough to eke past Dan Strauss in the Polaris 5 co-feature, though the fight wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. Shields took the bulkier Brit down early but was stuck in Strauss’ guard throughout.

Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight Uriah Hall has been chomping at the bit to get back inside the octagon, and it looks like he is taking his anger out on overaggressive training partners!

The 29-year-old Brazilian now operates out of the powerhouse American Top Team camp in Coconut Creek, Florida, where she continues to hone her world-class skills. During her outstanding career, Nunes has amassed her share of intriguing statistical data: 427: Days she will have spent as UFC women’s bantamweight champion by the time she climbs into the cage to face Shevchenko.

This referee choice could be an advantage for McGregor, as many have speculated that he may look to rough up Mayweather from the clinch while working inside against the smaller fighter.
