Fighter Diet Lean Legs

5. Cardio is seldom needed for men to get ripped but for most women it's a MUST. The best effect on your metabolism and your body composition comes from cardio training done in a similar way as weight training: short bursts of intense effort followed by rest aka intervals. Can you do intervals daily plus build lean legs? Well, that might not be the best option unless you recover very fast, don't feel it's hurting your progress or your intervals are not done at maximum effort. You might do intervals with a lower highest intensity level followed by recovery interval. (I'm a fan of these btw). A big warning sign you're overdoing cardio : you're tired for your lean leg workouts ! Oh oh! Time to reduce!

BARAO OUT, DILLASHAW TO FACE SOTO FOR UFC TITLE - Fighters Only

“I got a call from the UFC matchmakers and my initial thoughts were, ‘Oh my god, my fight is getting cut!’,” Soto revealed, “but I answered the call and they asked me to go down to speak with them, and that it was an emergency. So I ran down the stairs and they explained that Barao was out. And so I was like, ‘You want me to move up to the main card?’ And they were like, ‘You could say that.’

http://www.axs.tv/sports/kenny-rice-dana-white-right-to-say-he-was-wrong-so-move-on/

He screwed up in Macau last weekend firing judge Howard Hughes after two fights, because he didn’t like the way Hughes (who the UFC says has worked 25 cards for them) was scoring the bouts. As outrageous as the action was, it can be argued it wasn’t White at his worst. There have been tirades on fighters and reporters with occasional delayed admittance of going too far. Suffice to say, he’s crushed enough toes over the years to keep a platoon of podiatrists gainfully employed. If it hadn’t been that way, who would’ve noticed that cage fighting was evolving and growing? The look-at-me leader of the UFC, is a force to be reckoned with, the good with the bad, but notice what is going on with this sport.

UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto live results, play by play and discussion

Bloody Elbow has top-to-bottom coverage of tonight's UFC 177 pay-per-view event including live results, detailed play-by-play and a forum to discuss the action.

13
Who is Joe Soto?

Soto tends to be patient and defensive when standing. He has a little bit of a bad habit of looking to shell and slip strikes on the inside, which can cause him to get cracked around his guard. He releases well off his guard, with single hooks, but his lack of output and willingness to take strikes on his arms is problematic. His real emphasis standing appears to be drawing his opponent forward, so he can shoot in for the double leg under their strikes. Soto has a good quick shot and great transition grappling. That's really where he makes his mark in a fight, through a strong varied arsenal of takedowns and grappling dominance. He has put together some very good ground and pound as well, and postures extremely well to break down the defensive guard while striking.

Sherdog's Official Mixed Martial Arts Rankings - Bantamweight

Bantamweight 1. T.J. Dillashaw (10-2) Dillashaw pulled off the improbable, as he ended bantamweight champion Renan Barao’s 33-fight unbeaten streak via fifth-round TKO in the UFC 173 headliner. The first member of Team Alpha Male to capture UFC gold, Dillashaw displayed a multi-faceted striking arsenal and superior movement throughout in a surprisingly dominant victory. The 28-year-old will try to repeat the feat on Aug. 30, when he will rematch Barao in the main event of UFC 177. 2. Renan Barao (32-2, 1 NC) Marketed as one of the promotion’s best pound-for-pound talents prior to UFC 173, Barao saw his aura of invincibility take a hit against heavy underdog T.J. Dillashaw. The Nova Uniao product was on his heels from round one against Dillashaw, eventually falling via TKO at the 2:25 mark of round five. Despite the lopsided loss, Barao has been booked for a rematch with Dillashaw at UFC 177 on Aug. 30. 3. Urijah Faber (30-7) Faber resumed his dominance in non-title bouts at UFC 175, as he submitted "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 12 quarterfinalist Alex Caceres with a rear-naked choke in the third round.

UFC 177 fight card primer: TJ Dillashaw vs Joe Soto

In the main event at UFC 177 : Dillashaw vs Soto, UFC Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw (10-2 MMA; 6-2 UFC) puts the title on the line against... Joe Soto (15-2 MMA; UFC Debut). This five round title fight headlines the five fight UFC 177 main card. The UFC Rankings have Dillashaw at #11 on the pound for pound list. Oddly enough, challenger Soto is unranked. Weird. UFC 177: Dillashaw vs Soto airs live from Sacramento this Saturday, August 30. The main card airs on PPV with a fight time of 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT, with the prelims starting at  8:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.

Bellator trolls the UFC with 'Free Fight' release of Joe Warren vs. Joe Soto video

Who doesn't love free fights!? Well, the UFC probably doesn't love this one. As Bellator has taken a chance to pour salt in the wounds of the UFC's misfortune by posting a free "full fight" of Joe Warren's knockout win over Joe Soto on the same day that Soto is set to take on T.J. Dillashaw in a short notice title fight. For those that don't already know, and I can't imagine there are many of you, Renan Barao was pulled from his title fight rematch against champion T.J. Dillashaw yesterday, at the weigh-ins after he was forced to go to the hospital while trying to cut weight. As the only other bantamweight fight on the card, Joe Soto was pulled from his matchup with Anthony Birchak to be a last minute fill in. The fight will be Soto's UFC debut. No time like the present, to remind fans of Soto's Bellator low-light, when he lost his featherweight title to Joe Warren by second round KO.

Road FC 18 Play-by-Play: ‘Kim vs. Ramos’ Results & Updates

Luis Ramos vs. Hoon Kim Round 1 Ramos presses forward early, stalking Kim in the southpaw stance and scoring with a few leg kicks on the inside. The Brazilian hits a takedown into Kim’s guard, where he’s forced to withstand an armbar attempt, then a fairly tight triangle. Ramos turns into the choke to break it and then sets up in Kim’s high guard to drop body punches. The referee stands up the welterweights exactly halfway through the round. Ramos tries to close the gap with wide punches, misses and then ducks under a hook to shove Kim against the cage with over-unders. The ref breaks them up again with one minute left. The fighters clash kicks and Kim misses with a straight left before Ramos grabs a single-leg and hits another takedown at the horn. Sherdog Scores Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Ramos Round 2 Twenty seconds into the round, Kim puts a kick straight on Ramos’ groin, and the impact on the cup makes a loud, painful noise. Ramos takes a moment to recover and then comes back to floor Kim with a double-leg on the fence. They fall away from the cage, and now both men throw short, ineffective punches as Ramos works from Kim’s closed guard.

UFC 177's Danny Castillo on Team Alpha Male: 'We can own belts from 125 to 155'

Shayna Baszler's long-winding road of a fight career leads to the door on Saturday

With the UFC's expanding the number of shows, and thus, bringing in more new fighters than ever, every show seems to feature the debut of several fighters who grew up and started training with the idea of someday making it to UFC, and becoming a champion. For Shayna Baszler (15-8), who makes her UFC debut against Bethe Correia (8-0) in the No. 3 fight at UFC 177 on Saturday night in Sacramento, Calif., when she started fighting, there was no such aspirations or dreams. It would be five years after she started that she had her first thoughts that maybe some day she could fight on national television. Her long journey to a pay-per-view slot saw her and the women's side of the sport go from the equivalent of hunters trying to kill prey with spears to a world filled with the most sophisticated hunting equipment in the world, except the evolution only took a dozen or so years and she lived through every stage of it. "It was show up at the door (where a fight show was being held), sign your name on a piece of paper, say your weight, they didn't even do weigh-ins, and you just hope another girl would show up," she said about her less than modest beginnings driving around the Midwest after hearing about potential weekend shows.

Carlos Diego Ferreira wants to make a name for himself at UFC 177

"I wasn’t expecting to win that fast," Ferreira told MMAFighting.com. "I was looking for a longer fighter, but he made it easier when he pressured me against the fence. I saw an opportunity and went for the arm-triangle choke and got the rear-naked choke finish. It was a good win to build my name in the UFC."

34
5 Reasons to Watch: UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto

Whenever a fighter steps into a fight on short notice or they come in as a huge better underdog, the first comparison is to say this is a 'Rocky' story come to life.  The classic boxing tale written by Sylvester Stallone about a small time boxer, who gets the call to face the best heavyweight in the world and nearly beats him is the oldest sports trope in the book, but what's going on with Joe Soto taking on T.J. Dillashaw trumps that story by leaps and bounds.

35
UFC 177 fight card: What's at stake?

Nothing that is happening here is solely or even predominately an injury issue. Nothing is without a discernible cause. The dots have to be connected. No, the Dublin card or the upcoming Mexico debut didn't cause what's wrong with the UFC 177 card on a one-to-one basis. Nor did the continuation of TUF stateside. Yet, they are not exempt either. There is only so much premium product to go around. There is only so much fertile soil. In the wider practice of how that land is tilled, it is impossible to avoid situations like this if the world's leader in mixed martial arts is intent on pushing in so many other directions at once.

“My focus has been able to overcome the greater experience of my opponents. I’ve been evolving and I’m surrounded by the best partners. My willpower is my differential. I’ve gotten over any trepidation about facing fighters with much more experience. Now I’m more concerned with bettering myself, instead of worrying about what someone else might do well. I’m focusing on myself.”

42
Dana White says cancelling UFC 177 was never an option: ‘I don’t know if a champ is ever in a position not to accept a fight’

"I don't know if a champ is ever in a position not to accept a fight. You're the champion, which means you are the best guy in the world. You should be ready to take on all-comers, no matter who they are.  Whether it is the No. 1 ranked guy in the world or the No. 100. You're the man. There should never be a guy you turn down or deny."

43
Joe Soto uses former roommate Jon Jones as inspiration for upstart title challenge

The events happened so fast that Soto can barely wrap his brain around it all Those around the California fight scene know that Soto is no tomato can. He was Bellator's inaugural featherweight champion, laying a wicked beatdown on Yahir Reyes at Bellator 10 in Ontario, Calif. in 2009 to win the crown. He lost the title a year later, and has mainly fought in TPF since, winning their bantamweight belt in February.

44
UFC 177 just got weird, but did it get interesting?

It’s a raw deal for Dillashaw, is what it is. He deserves better. Remember, this is the guy who came in and did the shock-the-world thing at UFC 173 in May, and then got rewarded by being forced into a rematch against the same guy he’d just throttled. It was the rematch no one asked for, and very few were bound to pay for, making Dillashaw’s hometown stand as Team Alpha Male’s first UFC champion feel like a bit of a preamble to the rest of his title reign. Just get through this one, and then we can find out what he’s really got.
