Independent Sen. Sanders Thinking About a Presidential Run - NBC News

Sanders is in Iowa this weekend to test the waters. Lots of potential presidential candidates have descended on the Hawkeye State, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Sanders said he had a lot of respect for Clinton, but was a little tougher President Obama: "I have a lot of disagreements with him. But the bottom line is: I think he has not tapped the anger and the frustration that the American people feel on many, many issues."

UFC Fight Night Results: ‘Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2’ Play-by-Play & Updates

Gleison Tibau vs. Piotr Hallmann Round 1 Hallmann opens with an outside leg kick, then gets knocked backward with a big, blocked high kick from Tibau. The Brazilian rushes forward, swinging heavy left hands at Hallmann before scoring a takedown near the fence. Hallmann pops back to his feet, pressed against the fence by Tibau’s underhooks, and now Tibau releases to end a busy opening minute. Hallmann delivers a kick to the gut of Tibau and presses forward to put a short right on the local favorite’s chin. Tibau scores with a short left hook in the next exchange and nearly tosses Hallmann to the ground. The Polish fighter keeps his balance and comes back to clinch, but Tibau exits with another short, hard left. Tibau tries a double-leg in the center of the cage and drives Hallmann to the ground as they run toward the fence. Hallmann is quickly back to his feet again, pushing foward on Tibau to score with a kick and a knee to the midsection. The lightweights tie up on the fence, Tibau on the outside, and he manages another left hook before Hallmann pushes him away. Hallmann lands down the center with a right hand, an outside thigh kick, and continues pushing the action to end the round.

Mayweather vs Maidana 2: Fans again put to the test by Floyd's history of domestic violence

Floyd Mayweather's bout with Marcos Maidana is exciting on a boxing level, but the prospect of paying $75 to watch a serial abuser is causing conflict for many fans.

After five years away, Tamdan McCrory happy to let the cat back out of the barn

It’s not uncommon for fighters to suddenly slink from the cage and get on with their lives in less concussive ways. Luke Cummo, a fight game oddity who enjoyed a cup of his own urine from time to time, threw a smoke bomb at his feet and disappeared after a loss to Tamdan McCrory at UFC 87. (He later rematerialized in an even more mysterious manner ). Mike Swick has been coming in and out of focus for years. Jason Thacker at this point is just a theory. And McCrory himself up and disappeared after split decision loss to John Howard at UFC 101 in Philadelphia. At the time, McCrory -- a bespectacled 6-foot-4 live wire with unrivaled gangliness for the welterweight division -- was just 22 years old. One day he just sort of wandered into the woods. Or in this case, receded into the city of Binghamton, New York, which just happens to be a sort of upstate Bermuda for people dropping from radar screens. The writer Jake Rossen, forever a white whale in the MMA world of journalism, is thought to be residing there as well, though no footage exists for verification. In this case, McCrory resurfaced all of a sudden at Bellator 123 five years later.

23 Grain-Free Breakfasts To Eat On The Go

These biscuits are made with tapioca flour, almond flour, and coconut flour. That may sound like too much effort, but all three are pantry staples for anyone following a grain-free diet. They’re worth making, too, because they hold together well enough to eat while you walk, on the subway, or even in the car (NOT while driving, of course). Recipe here .

No Escape - Pepey Subs Johnson in One

TRINALDO vs. SILVA Lightweight veteran Francisco Trinaldo made a late charge in his bout with Leandro Silva, finishing strong and getting the nod on the judges’ scorecards, taking a close three-round unanimous decision. Scores were 29-28 across the board for Trinaldo, now 15-4; Silva falls to 16-2-1. Silva scored first, picking up a takedown in the opening minute. Trinaldo avoided any serious trouble, making it back to his feet, where the two remained locked up against the fence. Midway through the round, referee Mario Yamasaki restarted the stalled action, but neither fighter was able to use the fresh start to make any significant noise. Trinaldo upped his stand-up aggression to start the second, but that only allowed Silva to get the fight to the mat, and the returning vet soon took his opponent’s back and tried to lock in a rear naked choke. With two minutes left, Silva gave up on the choke but kept the position, and even though “Massaranduba” briefly escaped, Silva got him right back to the canvas and kept him there for the rest of the round.

Watch Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana 2 full fight video highlights online

Floyd Mayweather did what Floyd Mayweather does best - he shut his opponent's game down effectively and managed to dominate the fight. With a combination of footwork, defensive movement, counter punching, and clinching on the inside, Mayweather prevented Maidana from landing many shots. At the same time, he landed the cleaner punches himself, though never seriously hurting Maidana.

UFC Fight Night: Bigfoot vs. Arlovski II results - Fights to make for main card winners

It's now time for our regular glimpse into the future with "Fights to Make". Normally, we look at all of the main card fighters, but for this Fight Pass show (and likely for future FP events) we'll just focus on the winners and leave the losers aside.

Trading Shots: Downes and Fowlkes on 'TUF 20,' and a gimmick by any other name

But you raise a good point about the extracurriculars used to promote men’s fights. Obviously, it’s not just skill and athletic ability that’s selling the men’s side of the sport. The difference is, male fighters get more of a choice in the matter. If they want to play up a grudge match or pretend to be a crazy person, they can. If they want to craft themselves as humble churchboys or counterculture anti-heroes, they can do that too. But with the women it always comes backs to their looks, and they don’t have any say in the matter. Their looks will be an issue with the mostly male fan base whether they like it or not, and that sucks because it becomes a game they can’t win. Play up the looks angle, and they’re deemed too hungry for attention. Refuse to enter that arena, and they’re largely ignored. Try it and fail, and they just get made fun of. Male fighters don’t have to deal with any of that.

Michael Bisping explains why he won’t accept Luke Rockhold’s bet -- he doesn’t want any excuses

It didn’t take long for the feud between Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping to heat up at Wednesday night’s UFC Fight Night 55 press conference in Sydney, Australia. The UFC’s managing director for operations in Canada, Australian and New Zealand, Tom Wright -- fresh off a long flight from Toronto -- had barely introduced the main eventers to the media before the barbs started to fly. After Bisping gave a brief introduction, it was Rockhold’s turn. "I’m excited," he said. "I’m used to the main event, and I’ll be very comfortable in that position. I’ve gone five rounds a couple of times, but I’m very accustomed to one-round fights myself, too. I have ten of those that have finished in the first round, and this will be my eleventh." "Well I have 15 first round finishes compared to your ten, just for the record, Lukey boy," Bisping shot back. "And I’ll make this easy, just to use your line." Here Rockhold asked if any of those finishes came in the UFC, which triggered another back-and-forth before Wright could even open the floor to the media for questions. The first question centered on Rockhold’s proposal for a bet between him and Bisping, in which he would give Bisping his entire purse if he didn’t score a first round finish, and would receive Bisping’s if he did.

The Rejuvenation of a Psychopath

Chapter two of Stephan Bonnar is being written right now, and its already showing signs of being just as good as chapter one. First there was the announcement of signing with Bellator to fight Tito Ortiz. With Ortiz vs Bonnar on the marquee, that fight already makes money. But Bonnar has taken it past their last names in twinkling lights outside the venue. His taunts over twitter have become must read social media for MMA fans. Then we find out in an interview Bonnar has Dana White’s blessing to “ sign with Bellator and cash a check for beating Tito’s ass.” Bonus!. Then, at Bellator 123, Bonnar entered the cage in a suit and tie followed by a masked man. Bellator President, Scott Coker, made the announcement that Bonnar (standing to his right) would be fighting Tito Oritz (standing his left) on November 15th. And right then, it happened. Or more appropriately, “The American Psycho” took his moment. Bonnar held the mic, looked Tito in the face and announced the man next to him in the mask was a former friend of Tito’s, a former training partner of Titos. Bonnar pulled of the mask to reveal fomer UFC fighter Justin McCully .

The three stars of 'UFC Fight Night 51: Silva vs. Arlovski 2' in Brazil

UFC Fight Night 51 took place Saturday and streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil, and of the 22 competitors to compete on the UFC’s fourth event of the year in Brazil, three turned in performances that stood out from the rest.

Anthony Johnson down to fight Alistair Overeem at a catchweight

"He's still one of the top heavyweights in the world, in my opinion," Johnson added. "I don't think they're going to get rid of him. I mean, he's still going to sell tickets. People want to see him either win or lose, you know what I'm saying? It's not like when Anderson (Silva) was fighting or GSP was fighting, when Chuck (Liddell) was fighting. They wanted to see those guys dominate somebody. With him, they almost want to see him get beat up now, because of things he's done or things he's said, or whatever. (He) got caught up with some stuff that just changed people's view of him."

After focus shifts from Carano and Zingano, Ronda Rousey will happily face Correia in Brazil

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey revealed in a media scrum on Saturday night that she was open to fighting Bethe Correia in Brazil but was mainly focused on match-ups against Gina Carano and Cat Zingano.

How Sara McMann went from bully-beating to inspirational speaking

“Truthfully, there’s things I revealed in those talks that the media doesn’t know about,” McMann said. “When I’m talking to these kids and revealing those intimate details of my life, it’s because I can look out in the crowd and see kids nodding their heads. They’ve been in some of those same situations. That feels like a more pure reason to talk about it, because I’m up there opening up, talking about some of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to face, and talking about them publicly. But if I’m asked about those things and it’s to promote a fight, that feels more sleazy to me. It’s like I’m selling those intimate details of my life rather than giving them to people who can use them to help change their lives. There’s a different feeling for me. The intention is very important to me.”

‘Pitbull’ Freire canceled Pat Curran rematch at first after suffering injury during photo shoot

"I was in New York for a Bellator photo shoot and they asked me to throw some flying knees, but I was landing on the concrete. I did it 30 times, and ended up injuring my meniscus," Freire told "I couldn’t train. I went to the doctor and he said I couldn’t fight. Bellator took me to another doctor and he said the same thing, so I canceled the fight. I forgot about my diet, forgot about the fight."

UFC Fight Night 51 post-fight facts: Gleison Tibau extends lightweight wins lead

The win pushed Arlovski further up the list in several meaningful statistical categories, but he wasn’t the only one to accomplish a feat of note. For more on the numbers behind the UFC’s latest fight card, here are 45 post-fight facts about UFC Fight Night 51.

Matches to Make After UFC Fight Night ‘Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2’

Andrei Arlovski is quickly rising in the UFC heavyweight landscape. | Photo: Gleidson Venga/ Perhaps the pundits buried Andrei Arlovski a little too soon. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight titleholder cut down Antonio Silva with a three-punch combination and subsequent hammerfists in the first round of their UFC Fight Night “Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2” main event on Saturday at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil. Arlovski finished it 2:59 into round one, as he improved to 12-4 in the UFC. Silva had no answer for the Belarusian’s fast hands and skilled feet. Arlovski scored repeatedly with step-in right hands, as he kept the monstrous Brazilian off-balance for the entirety of their brief rematch. A three-punch volley, punctuated by a searing right to the chin, leveled “Bigfoot” and left him at the mercy of Arlovski. “The Pit Bull” wasted no time in capitalizing on the opportunity, as he pounced on his fallen adversary and punched him unconscious with a series of violent, unrestrained hammerfists.

Rousey: Zingano at UFC 182, Correia in Brazil, giving 'Cyborg' 'the beating she deserves' sounds good

“I don’t know why you would say (Correia) hasn’t earned it,” Rousey said. “That’s the exact thing people said about me. I wasn’t ranked at 135 when I won the world title. People said that I didn’t deserve it. I see a girl that’s undefeated, and I see one of the best athletes in the world, and I see somebody that has not only fought and beat my friends, but she was a little bit disrespectful about it. And while I felt that was extremely intelligent of her, that doesn’t mean I’m going to let her get away with it. So I’m like, ‘Yes, you got my attention. I do want to fight you, but that’s not going to work out very well for you.’

Where have you been, Andrei Arlovski? Better yet, where are you going?

When it comes to heavyweights, it’s tough to say. You can’t call this KO the result of a lucky punch. Even if you wanted to, you’d have to answer for the four or five right hands that found a home on Silva’s ponderous skull before the one that put him down. This was skill and speed, albeit against a guy who’s been off for nine months following a suspension for elevated levels of a synthetic hormone that he is now forced (hopefully) to do without.

UFC plans at least seven ‘bigger events’ in Brazil in 2015

"Our plan for the next year is to do at least the same number of events we did this year, but bigger events," she said. "We’re still working on the coaches for next season of The Ultimate Fighter and the weight classes, but it’s not a done deal yet. We’ll probably have more news about that on Oct. 25. We definitely won’t do less than seven events in Brazil next year."

After WSOF 13 win, champ Marlon Moraes may be looking for bigger challenges

“I believe that everyone can see I’m the best in the world,” Moraes Moraes (14-4-1) told MMAjunie after he submitted Cody Bollinger (16-3) in the WSOF 13 main event on Saturday night. “Sooner or later, they’ll have to let me fight the best.”

Bisping to Rockhold: When Cung Le checks out of the hospital, talk to him about those 'pitter-patter' punches

Let me tell you a little story guys. Saturday night, I was working FOX calling the fights, and Luke’s friend Daniel Cormier is a regular on FOX and he’s talking to Luke, and says, ‘Bisping, you’ve got to hear this.’ So he puts it on loud speaker, and Luke’s screaming on the phone like some kind of possessed maniac going, ‘you don’t understand, Bisping, I’m going to walk through your pitter-patter punches, you’re in a world of pain, you’re in trouble.’ And I’m just laughing my head off. He’s absolutely hilarious. I’ve had over 30 professional fights, if you think it intimidates me, if you think scares me, then you are so mistaken my friend. I’ve fought many of you, many times. You're going to be another victim. Just relax, and I’ll see you on Nov. 8.

Nova Uniao’s Leonardo Santos talks ‘exhausting’ weight cut for UFC Fight Night 51: ‘I had cramps all night’

"Ronny Markes was the first Nova Uniao fighter to ever miss weight in the UFC, and Barao didn’t even make to the scale, unfortunately, because of an accident," Santos said. "People say a lot of things, but Barao was closer to the title, he was about to bring this title back to Brazil, and people talk a lot of crap.

The Ultimate Fighter Episode 2 Preview: A Revolt is brewing

Her opponent, Emily Kagan comes into the fight with far less experience but a phenomenal team behind her.  Kagan trains out of the Team Jackson-Winkeljohn facility in New Mexico where she learns from some of the best coaches in the business including Greg Jackson, Mike Winkeljohn, Brandon Gibson, and other top names in the industry.  Of course that doesn't even begin to cover the amount of top women who train at the gym.  Names such as Sarah Kaufman, Julie Kedzie, Holly Holm and Michelle Waterson all work out of the New Mexico based facility so Kagan has been prepared the right way, but she's got a tall mountain to climb facing Calderwood.
