Hector Lombard: By The Numbers

Though his best days have long since passed, former Bellator MMA champion Hector Lombard believes he still has something to offer. The longtime American Top Team staple will face Anthony Smith in a three-round middleweight showcase at UFC Fight Night 116 this Saturday at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, where he aims to put an end to a career-worst three-fight losing streak. Lombard owns a disappointing 3-5 record inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship and has not competed since he wound up on the wrong side of a split decision against four-time NCAA All-American Johny Hendricks at UFC Fight Night 105 in February. Historically one of MMA’s most devastating offensive fighters, “Showeather” has put away seven different opponents in less than a minute. During a long and successful career that stretches back nearly 13 years, Lombard has compiled his share of intriguing statistical data: 1: Olympic teams made. Lombard represented Cuba in judo at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. 3: Men other than Lombard who have won the Bellator middleweight championship.
